Help Game is too easy

The first and second time playing through the game were difficult. I didn't know where I was supposed to go or how any of the bosses worked, I didn't know how to get the best weapons or what a decent materia set-up was. Of course now having completed it a hell of a lot of times it could be classed as 'easy' but the story still remains worthwhile every time.

The only thing in the game I haven't done is kill ruby weapon, I only tried around 10 times or so and I'm 99% sure I got him 1-2 hits of death but hey!
 
The first time I played (not beating, playing), I thought it was quite hard, considering I had no idea what I was doing. So, every other time I'd start another file, just for the sake of trying to get different items and such, it got easier and easier. I mean, when I first played, I had no clue as to which weapons were good to use, and which you should sell/toss. It's the same with materia. I thought is was so confusing, because I thought there were a lot of different ones (at first, anyways).
 
The bosses are actually very easy for me compare to FF IV which I'd recently completed, and the only FF that I'd completed so far!

I'd only just started the game not too long ago and only up to Rocket Town! haha! And so far I'd never die from any bosses except the first one because I don't have restore materia. haha! I never need to level up my characters and just run through the game as normal.

I am not aware of any "mods" that make the game harder, however I am aware that many attempt to make the game harder for themselves. For example a good beginning challenge that many people do is a solo game. Only one player may be used and all others must be Ko'd at all times. Others range from no materia games to no magic games. It's all up to you, the game can be as hard, or as easy as you want. I also find speed runs to be quite fun.
 
I found when I very first played FF7 as a kid that the game was genuinely very hard for me :/ i kept getting owned by the first boss haha after then the game got a bit easier :)

Never heard of that but I only play it on the PS console or the PSN version now. But my whole experience is to train for the weapons and Sephiroth anyway so...IDK what else you'd expect.
