GOD DAMN IT RINGO, WINDING US UP LIKE THAT
Also, if you look at it this way, who is saying what? Nomura stated he couldn't be capable of doing it, for lack of.. everything, apparently. Toriyama is the main guy who keeps putting forward the idea and wanting to do it. Kitase has said 'It looks unrealistic' and then flips 'Well, maybe we'll have news later...'
If anybody, it should be Nomura and Kitase's project.

Here we go again! Final Fantasy developer Square Enix continuing mentioning "Final Fantasy VII" and "remake" in the same breath.
Previously, Final Fantasy VII character designer mentioned the prospects of a FFVII remake, and then FFVII game director Yoshinori Kitase mentioned how he was never tired of answering questions about FFVII remakes. Now?
When asked by game site Siliconera which game FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama would want to remake, he replied, "That would be Final Fantasy VII!"
"If we had the manpower and the time to work on a project, if we were to remake Final Fantasy VII with the quality of Final Fantasy XIII it would become a tremendous project," Toriyama continued. "If we can get the number of people we need by all means that would be the one I would really want to remake."
In 2006, Square Enix released a "technical demo" depicting Final Fantasy VII as it would look in the PlayStation 3. The game was originally released on the PlayStation 1 in 1997.

And why VII could have a full "PS3" remake while the others FF have "quickly done" remakes on the DS(even tought that the FFIV remake was pretty good)
That's a bit unfair ! Anyone agreed ?
It's to do with FFVII's general popularity. No other Final Fantasy earns the praise and the nostalgia of fans as much as FFVII and that has shown with just how popular it is as a game. Seeing as its popularity and worldwide acclaim has spawned unneeded sequels and prequels today, it's natural that many would like to see the game out in full HD and as an update to accommodate the prequels' and sequels' additions to the universe. Pre-FFVII games just don't share as much level of popularity and therefore a FFVII HD remake would be far more profitable (seeing as PS3 games take so much time and money anyway).
Sonofa.......waitaminnit.. Yosh is right, this isn't new. It's taken straight from this interview back in March of this year.

Dat tru.Well it generates discussion anyway, so...![]()
Well, without sugarcoating this, they put other "remakes" on the DS because they're not as popular as other FF games. Doesn't make sense to waste money on a remake of a game that no one really enjoyed in the first place.Oh please ! they still talk about that FFVII remake !? Finish Versus and Agito first darn it !

Did they just say the quality of XIII? Don't they mean the graphical quality? Graphics don't make a game...
-Bretboy129 ~ Bret Hudson
Wouldn't matter much to me though. The focus on graphics was probably kind of the cause of XIII being the way it was.......Graphics is what they meant...........although in saying by the time/if they gret there arsses moving graphical quality would far in advance of what it is today!

And on that note, I could almost care less about the graphics.
They have to have meant graphical quality, because regarding everything else.. the quality of VII soared over XIII's.
Also, they've gone through a streak of remaking all FF's numerically.. so V and VI HAVE to come before VII at some point.. probably, on 3DS because of it's new cpabilities, and the games popularity just aren't big enough for them to be on a major platform. With VII having been the first on a new major platform, it would probably follow suit with a remake.
