Well nay sayers believe Versus13 will never see the light of day. Japan's current issues will effect months to come, so things aint looking good for Versus especially with that freeking FF13 sequal.

Anyways when do you think Versus might be released?

If it were to come out I'd say:
Year 2020
Season Q 2

We'll be lucky if we get to see this game in our lifetime.

They did mention before they can release ff titles faster than before...meanies :ness:
 
I'm not a naysayer, I'm a realist. Honestly, I get the feeling that they're just going to keep on delaying this game until they finally drop it, hoping by that point that it would have faded out of people's memories...it'll be just like Fortress.
 
2012 would be a reasonable bet as being the very earliest, considering they're not going to manage a release this year even for the Japanese release. As for when in 2012 I suppose it'll either be mid-2012 or approaching Q3-Q4 2012 because as you know, they need the time late 2011-early 2012 for FFXIII-2.

But of course, they could just push it back further with delays and all that, as they're still rather likely.
 
Hmm...I don't really care when it comes out. I don't have a PS3 :(

Unless its announced it will b e for Xbox as well, then it could come out tomorrow and I wouldn't care. :(

But I think it will still be released in this year, by the end. If not then, maybe May 2012.
 
First: I had to actually think what FFV13 was suppose mean :wacky:

Second: Would the recent natural disaster in Japan do anything to delay the progress? I was willing to believe December 2012 earliest, but that may need to moved up to 2013 now :hmmm:
 
It's probably nothing more than a placeholder, December 2011 has been floating around for years. The lack of information gives me the impression it won't be this year either considering the started leaking out a hell of a lot of info for Final Fantasy XIII consistently for a good 6/7 months before it was released.
 
Well I say that most games from Japan are going be held back at least a year if not two, sadly I think that this is the least of our problems right now....
 
In regards to the recent disaster in Japan, unless that nuclear power station blows I don't think it'll have any effect on Versus XIII or very little if it does. Tokyo seemed relatively unscathed and the only thing Square-Enix can do to help is donate money. When it comes down to it, Square-Enix are still a business and need to get on with their job regardless of what happens around them otherwise they'll see themselves struggling.
 
WHY ISN'T IT OUT ALREADY. Well, I think maaaaybe it'll come out sometime in 2012. I'm thinking late late winter. Maybe even septemberish? It'd be nice... unlikely... but nice.
 
I'm thinking 2012 Q2 for Japan Q3 for NA/UK and Q4 for AUS because the gaming industry hates Australia :P

...Really, with the recent disaster in Japan I don't expect them to rush it out. They still have a lot to work on with it...they don't even have all of the Japanese voice actors yet (Stella :jtc:)...they still need to work on making an English version when they are done with the Japanese one.

...plus...:hmmm: I smell more spin-off's of the Type 0 sequels...and a whole bunch of other useless titles (Final Fantasy XIII-3 :gasp:)no one really wants...so ...no rush guys. They were never in a rush to release it to begin with :monster:

I'd say January-March 2012 for Japan, and June-August 2012 for NA, to me that sounds pretty realistic, but it's still a freakin' long time. Remember when the trailer was first seen and info was released about it in roughly 2005? That was six years ago!
 
Does anyone have an idea of when FF versus 13 will come out?

Yoshinori Kitase said that they "can't commit themselves to 2011".

There is no official release date for even Japan yet but there has been some speculation on the release date. Probably for Japan. Versus will come out at the middle of 2012 and for North America and Europe.. maybe the end of 2012. Square Enix have already confirmed they are more or less done the whole script but I am pretty sure they want to make it a masterpiece.. with Noctis as a character you have never seen in any FF before. Versus will take an immense amount of time and Nomura already told us to forget about it last time. I think the earliest we will see more info again is at E3.

To reiterate what has no doubt been reiterated already, no one is sure when it will be released, though we can only be super-vague and say sometime in 2012. With Type-0 and perhaps that damn FFXIII-2 taking up the rest of Square Enix's 2011 release calender, there's no chance of it emerging before next year. My guesses? Summer 2012 as a crude estimate? :olivia:
 
i'm agreement with the japan mid-2012/north america dec-2012 estimate.

just chiming in to say that, while the production wait has been frustrating (and stupefying), i think it's all for the best because it can only mean a better final product. and since it's impossible to sustain over-hype over the span of six years, there will be less unreasonable expectations.
 
Now with FFXIII-2 for Japan in decemeber 2011 andthe west early 2012....I think it's a little hopeful to say we won't get it until 2013 at the very least :-)cry:).

But I still doubt it will be 2013 it's not like SE to release a major FF the following year of releasing another major FF. But realistically it could be like 2014 :cry:, During FFXIII's development Versus was halted (in 2008 I think) so staff could aid with the development of XIII. I believe the same may be happening with XIIII-2, if you look at the E3 trailer they've done a lot of work on it REALLY FAST.

If you think optimistically then maybe 2013 for the western world....But I think 2014.
