Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

Tifa was newly released (ish) but when I found this, it was on a site dated for Sept I think. But given that it's pretty much only missing Tifa and for speculation it's got everybody else (wait, is Light there too?) I'd say it's near pretty damn spot on. Even in Gunner form, Yunie's there. :hmmm:

Sorry just a tad annoying when you say it's merely speculation and everybody's all up in your grill about it being fake when you KNOW it's not real. It's like walking up to a cat and screaming in its face "HEY, YOU'RE A CAT. DID YOU KNOW YOU'RE A CAT? YOU'RE A CAT." :mokken:

Cloud may lack Charisma, but he's easily brainwashable, in earlier parts of the game anyway. Cloud being a baddy could really make sense if they make it work. :hmmm:

As far as Yunie looking younger, she just.. she still looks different. :rage: Maybe not younger but different. Wry

It could possibly be from very early planning stages of Duodecim where they may have decided to doodle out some art for potentials? I for one am quite impressed with the designs and I'm sorta holding out a thin glimmer of hope that some of the character shown who won't make it as a playable character will at least appear as an NPC or the like.

Meh.....

I only could imagine Cloud as an Baddie ONLY if he basically never leaves sephiroths side. Other wize i really couldnt see it. Cosmos Jecht really makes me think Tidus is gonna be the baddie. Yeah.. I mean. Not only would it spice up the rivalry between Jecht and Tidus. IT would make perfect Drama between The Trio.(Yuna,Tidus,Jecht) Jecht could agree to be a Chaos minion To save his Son Tidus from becoming fully emersed in darkness. It would really show the "I really do love you" side of Jecht. Or Yuna could sacrifice herself to save Tidus. It works either way. Because it Still plays into dissidias story.

Personally. I want my above Idea to go to Kuja,Zidane and any other FFIXer chosen. Like Garnet or Vivi. Allthough i Totally doubt Zidane would be Evil. Tidus possibly Zidane no.

I wonder what the "1200" on The Yuna pic means. MAbey you have to Buy her using PP?

The odd thing is, is that there's Tactics characters in there.. they wouldn't ever include spin off/off title characters in it, even later on, you think? They're not.. part of the original line. :hmmm:

Exactly. And the guys got some skills so he would be hard to fight. And if they did do the story right, it would be really cool to see Cloud(and Terra)as baddies. :britt:

Think of it, to have to fight the warriors that are really good... such drama xD

Right, in case any of you are wondering what has happened with some of the posts, I've merged Channy's thread on the unofficial characters list with this one and it's caused this to happen. Just excuse that and carry on as normal. :wacky:

I do know that the image Channy posted was a hoax (a relatively old one too, I believe). However, SqEnix has already said we'll be getting up to 10 new characters.

We have currently gotten 6, which would leave up to 4 more. I'm thinking we'll only get 2 more characters, and here is why I think that:

1. If you look at the official North American site (maybe Euro site too), on the character page, there is currently four blank spaces after Lightning. You can take 2 away for Laguna and Yuna. Which would leave 2 more to make the rows even in length. Sure, nothing says the rows HAVE to be even.

2. On another forum I visit, that strictly deals with Dissidia, people have noticed a possible patter that has held true so far. From FF1 - FF10, if a game has gotten a new stage, they have not gotten new characters, and vice-versa. FF11 - FF13 would be the exceptions to the pattern because 11 and 12 were not fully represented in Dissidia, and 13 was non-existant.

So, my thoughts, based upon those to things lead me to believe that, assuming we only get two more characters, I think we'll get a character from FFV and FFXI.

We do know that we are getting an equal number of new characters as new stages though.

I'd think not, but with Tactics there may be an exception, for the Tactics games are set on the same planet as FFXII, and are considered canonical of that planet's future, as far as I am aware.

Out of that image I can see several likely candidates for characters, but sadly many that I doubt will ever see an inclusion in Dissidia. Red XIII and Quina I would absolutely love to see in the game, but I doubt that they'd ever attempt to get them to work in Dissidia. We so far only really have human/ish characters.

Allthough i Totally doubt Zidane would be Evil. Tidus possibly Zidane no.

Maybe it could end up being a "what if?" scenario. What if the "You're Not Alone" sequence didn't happen, and Zidane was left feeling alone, lost and with a confused sense of purpose? Zidane hit his darkest moment (however brief) at that part of the game, and perhaps they could milk that to get him on the side of Chaos. I'm not sure if it is something I'd particularly like to see much of (depending on how they did it), but if they really had to put Zidane on the side of Chaos then maybe this could be how they get around it.

The "Your not alone" scene is the only connection of an "evil" zidane. but since its only a scene and not an actual action story.(What im tryin to say is that it was brief. it didnt carry on though out the rest of the game Per Se..Its too short to milk it much. and if it actually happens it will be a crappy way to kill off the IXer. I gues it could work if they shoved an "Alternate world"(Zidane=Kuja Kuja=Zidane) Down are throats. But Fans would asassinate SE if that happened.

TIdus fits it better because he has a reason to be Evil. Revenge. Or they could pull an anikin, have him tricked into joining to "Protect" Yuna. Ultimatly having her dying(Like padme) So Tidus=Anikin Jecht=Obi-wan Yuna=Padme type Story. Or again they could shove The "I HATE YOU TO YEVON DAD!" down our throats. Both Would work i guess.

@Terra's age thing:
Well, Squall looks about 2 years yonger in this game, so it might be 2 yeas previous. Or, no time change at all.

@at the image of the characters:
I saw that a few months ago and posted it on the Dissidia forums before it was re-amped.

I kinda hope its not a hoax, for Edgar/Celes. :P

Lightning, Kain, Tifa, Vaan, Laguna, Yuna, and whoever else shows up...

Seriously, I wonder what happens to them in Duodecim that makes it that they weren't around for Dissidia? :hmmm:

I just have a hard time believing they actually die-die, you know? I mean, if nothing else, Laguna dying would erase Squall from existence, but there he is in Dissida.

So that leaves just being defeated and taken back to their home world I think. Of course how the actually end up defeated is a pertinent question me thinks. Like, I'm sure who ever's POV you play, you do actually beat a final boss to finish their story, but what happens to take them back home?

Well, Nomura said he's adding things to the Last Dissidia's story line as well as new scenes, most likely including the new set of characters. Which means ret-con.

So they might just add them into the last game through this one.

If that makes sense xD

yuna-dissidia-012.jpg

The latest issue of Shonen Jump has confirmed that Final Fantasy X character Yuna will be included in Dissdia 012: Final Fantasy.

A scan from the magazine shows Yuna controlling both Shiva and Ixion for simultaneous attacks, as well as summoning King Bahamut.

In addition, Square Enix will include an extra costume for FFVII’s Tifa in the game’s first run.

You’ll also be able to create your own original quests in Dissidia 012 and share them with fans, according to a retail list from Japanese retailer gmstar.

That noise you just heard is all the Final Fantasy fanfic writers squealing in glee.

Dissidia 012 releases on March 3 in Japan. It releases in the UK and Europe on PSP this spring.

Her EX Burst sounds absurdly powerful. Translated as Sending off to the spirit world, this attack makes Yuna call all of her Aeons for a consecutive set of attacks. Hmm.. I wonder if that includes "secret" Aeons like the Magus Sisters, Anima, and Yojimbo.

Thanks, Siliconera.

The characters new to Duodecim could have been defeated just before where Dissidia started. I don't think Dissidia started at the beginning of the 13th war...I think it was somewhere in the middle. In that case, no ret-con is needed. There is something that is said that makes me think Dissidia picks up in the middle of a war rather than the very beginning.

The balance was broken.
Those who answered Chaos's call created an inexhaustible force.
And under vicious attack without relent, the warriors fighting for Cosmos started to fall one by one.
The conflict that has continued for eons is now about to end in Chaos's
favor. The world has been torn asunder, sinking into a vortex of
disorder. As for the few surviving warriors--

The bolded parts are the focus of that quote.

Because Duodecim is going to take place during the 12th war, and since Duodecim will include Dissidia's story as well, we'll get to see exactly when the characters bit the dust (and how...they may not have actually been killed at all, maybe their crystals were destroyed) and when Dissidia actually started.

We'll end up playing the same way we did in Crisis Core. Expecting a pessimistic resolution and being all D= So as a result, I'm half for it, half eh about it. Tragedy makes good for drama undeniably, but still sad times. :sad3:

Mind, it'll probably be something less 'devastating' like death, and more something along the lines of...returning to their world or disappearing or something (The latter would be very Kingdom Hearts-y)

Here's the thing though-it's not just the new characters, it would be ALL the Cosmos warriors that would've lost the battle and their memories (and possibly sent home too), right? But why then did only those 10 warriors come back? That's what I really wanna know.

The plot thickens. I certainly hope SE don't answer these questions in a half arsed fashion. Fingers crossed, eh?

Also, I gotta admit, I am quite looking forward to this Fan-Story feature. Looks like fanfic.net will lose a bit of activity in the Dissidia section cause of this. I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing what folk will come up with.

But... how do you know that the characters in dissidia are 2 years younger? did your find their age somewhere or did you said it just because they look jounger??
I think Squall (for example) looks jounger, but I don't think he's 15 -.-
the same for terra... in the original game she's 16, she can't be 14 in dissidia!

Well I wasn't talking about what happened to the new characters (or should I say old xD) to make them disappear in the Last Dissidia.
I was just saying that Nomura will be adding new scenes to the Last Dissidia that came out which is the last war fought, which means its the Last Dissidia in the series (?). They won the war, its over now. :P

But going by everything Nomura has said, he'll be adding to the Last Dissidia's story, which means changing the story and adding things, which makes it a ret-con.

Unless he only adds scenes consisting of the characters the Last Dissidia already had and not the new ones. :P

Do you mean in FF6? If so, Terra was 18 and then 19 at the end. If you mean Dissidia (Last one) no one really knows her age. I'm guessing in the Dissidia we already have, she is 18 and this game will be about 2 years previous, placing her at or around 16.

What makes me think this, is looking at some of the characters like Squall and Yuna. They look different, perhaps Nomura's way of making them look younger?
