Right, they weren't in the game, however, they may have been around at the beginning of the 13th war. We don't know for sure what happened. There are some quotes I pointed out in an earlier post that make it sound almost like there were more Cosmos warriors at the beginning of the war than what we had in Dissidia.
....
They don't exist in the game. If you add something to a game where that something doesn't exist, its changing it. We already know they were in LD before they "died/disappeared". We know that they are NOT currently be in the Last Dissidia.
It doesn't matter what happened to them, the point is they are NOT in the Last Dissidia. We will however, find out what happened to them at the end of this prequel Dissidia game.
And of course there are hints about them being the game before the 13th, we already know that from this game.
We don't need them to make an appearance in a game they were not in to know that they are absent from the Last Dissidia or to know that something happened to them. All the new characters may have been there in the beginning, but if they were "killed" or their crystals were destroyed, that could explain their absence from the events of Dissidia.
This Dissidia (12) will explain what happens to them.
Based upon the assumption that Dissidia was not the entire 13th war, then there is still room prior to the events of Dissidia for the developers to fill in story that we don't know, thus not much change is needed to be made (expect maybe some new conversations in the Dissidia story referring to the "death" or disappearance of the new characters).
The Last Dissidia officially is the 13th war. This one releasing is the 12th. Assumptions aren't as good as what we were told. There are 13 wars, the last one they won. The last one those new Characters were not in.
(Unless Nomura and SE would like to make a whole NEW set of wars for the characters to fight in after they finished off all the wars of this series)
Again, this new Dissidia will fill in what happened to the new characters. SE/Nomura does not need to edit the story/events of the Last Dissidia to tell us what happened to Vaan, Laguna, Lightning, Yuna and Tifa. Dissidia 12 will tell us, not LD -- D12. :>
This is where we differ. I do not think anything from Dissidia will be changed drastically, such as adjusting the story to add the new characters in. I think Dissidia will stay as is, maybe with some very minor changes (probably mostly text changes).
Well, it doesn't really matter if we differ really. Changing something from its original, believe it or not, is changing it from its original therefore not making it the same game, therefore making it ret-con (if its changed the way I'm thinking Nomura/SE means of course xD). It will be making the game ret-con unless its just scenes/story for the characters that WERE in the Last Dissidia.
The only thing that I think will be different is that we'll know everything pertaining to the 13th war (since it seems like Dissidia started somewhere in the middle of the war) and what happened to the new characters that prevented them from appearing during the events of Dissidia.
Started in the middle? Where are you getting these assumptions and what are they based on? :hmm
LD is the last war according to what has been released and what we've been told (Just head over to the Dissidia forum). The game doesn't start in the middle of the war. The first game we got was the last game in the line, the last war -- 13th -- the one they finally won.
Again, we don't need SE/Nomura nor do they need to, edit the LD to show us what happened to the new characters. That's the point of this NEW Prequel. A prequel tells what happened BEFORE the story after it, in this case, that's LD.
Wow wow wow.Nada. There have been screenshots showing Vaan and Terra paired up, just like OK was paired up with Terra in Dissidia. Cloud and Terra may run into each other, but I don't think that they will normally be paired up. However, from what I have heard, there will be some parts of the story where you can choose a party.
Just because he is with her and saves her, their are paired up? That's seems a bit...off. A lot of people are paired together, that does not make them a "pair" in the sense you are taking it as? No.
Squall and Buntz (Bartz)? Or what about Buntz and Zidane?
@_Symphonia:
Who knows. It could happen, or it couldn't happen. The Dissidia world seems to be very different than the actual games, so Cloud and Terra might happen.

And then with the fanfiction feature, which we really don't know much about yet, you could very well be able to mold that sort of interaction between them. :>
