Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

I'm not entirely sure. I'm trying to google it, and there's some mentions that it's brought up in the Dissidia Ultimania, but there's no confirmation as far as I can tell. I did find an awkward statement from Nomura that says something like "Take it as canon if you want.".. wtf 8(

Well, I like how (again, if he said that) he still leaves it so friggin' vague. "If" you want. "IF" you want. That will fuel even more and he knows it'll get more attention to his rip-offsnew, superb titles that are completely original.
 
Oh thank ghod. I was starting to think we wouldn't get any info on Yuna until that conference on the 18th xD

I dunno why people are complaining about her face-it looks fine to me. And all the other character arts differed from their original one in some way, so I'm not surprised.

EDIT: Jeez, so much Nomura hate. He's the only tolerable person left at S-E, IMO >_>

We're not complaining about her face, we are just pointing out she looks different. And no one said she didn't look fine, just different. See previous posts :)

All he has been doing is reselling the same things..if he stops that, I won't tease him (or whatever it might come off as) anymore

Yunie's still gorgeous, but Terra's right.. She looks.. different.. off in some way. I'm not sure, it's just not the same if you compare to Tsuki's sig on the same page.
 
I've said it before, I'll say it again: we have ENOUGH heroes in Dissidia. ENOUGH. So far, not a single new villain has been announced.

I'll admit it'll be interesting to play as Yuna. But would I rather play as her than a new villain? No, most definetely not. I honestly think they should have brought Seymour in from X instead of Yuna, so we actually have a PROPER villain to represent FFX.

I have no doubts Dissidia 012 will be an enjoyable enough game. But they're making all the wrong choices in character selection. It's ridiculously one-sided, and I get the feeling that they're not going to bring in any new villains at all. Which would be a real shame.

As for the only heroes, no villains thing... I have to say that that is quite a huge disappointment for me too. I can see what they appear to be doing though... They're taking more heroes onto the dark side (Terra and Cloud possibly), so perhaps they'll balance it out a bit more by having some characters move from Camp Cosmos to Camp Chaos.


EDIT!: Ninja'd. I can now see Yuna. :awesome:
 
There's that freaking pirate again... I wonder what the deal is with that?
As for the villains not being evenly represented, I think it's actually going to be a bit more complex than that. We've already seen that certain people have had their allegiances in doubt (Terra, Cloud, Tidus, Kain etc.) so there might be more "villains" than we give S-E credit for.
Besides, if the story's good I don't really care what people they put in - be they heroes or villains, they're iconic enough to stand on their own.

EDIT: Wow. Must be the international day of the Ninja today.

I wonder why they chose Ixion over Ifrit? :hmmm: considering Ifrit, Shiva and Bahamut are pretty much staple FF summons...

On the reverse, why no Valefor? She's the most connected with Yuna, being her first and all.
 
Her fighting system is like The pokémon trainer in Super smash bros brawl in my point of view we control her aeons instead of pokémons XD

Bahamut and Shiva are great ! But i wanted Valefor instead of Ixion ! This unicorn never interested me. :rage:
 
Ixion is a nice summon... but I can't understand why they didn't choose Valefor. It's the most important Aeon for Yuna... I remember the scene of Yuna in Besaid with her first Aeon... when she calls Valefor for the first time and she strokes him.. and then, when she's in Bevelle and she jumps into space, she calls Valefor again.

Valefor had to be in :( instead of Shiva or Bahamut... I like them as summons, but they are always put in every game.. they're too common. I would have prefered something new.
 
I agree, I was hoping Valefor was one of her summons.
Ixion, Shiva and Bahamut are all awesome, but why no Valefor? She's Yuna's first aeon after all. ):
 
Well maybe she can have Valefor somehow. In her Ex Burst probably :hmmm:. Or maybe once you level up a little bit. Her alternate costume will most llikely be her X-2 design. Her X-2 costume played with aeons will be weird :hmmm:

Oh yeah, I completely forgot that the higher the character's level is, the more abilities they'll have. So there's still hope for Valefor. XD

Yeah, it'll be weird seeing Yuna in her X-2 getup summoning aeons. It just...won't look right without her guns. :hmmm:
 
The allegiances is what I'm most interested in at the moment. I'm hesitant to say Cloud is a Chaos warrior this time around, but it could be similar with Terra's case where Sephiroth has influence over him like Kefka has over her :hmmm:

And I'm still interested in Jecht and Tidus' relationship. Would Tidus still feel angry at his father, even if he's a Cosmos warrior? Where Yuna would come in for this would be interesting too. Her idolization of Jecht versus her love for Tidus (would they even show romance in the game in the first place?).

I think I said this before, but I get the feeling we'll only be able to play as the "new" characters in Duodecim's story. So I wanna figure out how we'll see all the characters in the story.
 
I'm rather shocked they made Yuna playable, I was expecting her to turn up as an NPC or something, everytime I tried to picture her in a Dissidia-ish battle she came off as too stiff.

Anyway though I DO agree villains are needed, I think you're completely off when you say they made the wrong decisions with characters. Every character they've confirmed so far has recieved overall positive feedback. (Even Vaan, shockingly enough. For the Japnese to DEMAND him, I think SE would be nob ends not to add him, even though I'd rather them add Balthier or Fran, still, this game wasn't made with SE thinking "RIGHT, everything we put in this game, we put it in because Sonny wants it")

Anywho, we still got characters from FFI, II, III, V, VI, IX, XI (If they decide to) and possibly XII and XIII (Depends if they do decide to go for a 3 per fantasy thing now).

If they decide to add a character from I, then I honestly can't predict who it will be. As for II, in terms of a possible villain, there may be Leon, III, Xande as a villain, V, Gilagamesh (I think I'd chose him over Faris thinking about it), VI, Leo could possible act as a villain (though tbh, I can write up quite the list of potentials I'd see getting a Dissidia spot before this guy), IX, Beatrix, the lovely lady blinded by loyalty would make an interesting villain, XI, this creepy blonde kid I've seen in a few videos and screenshots, XII, if they decided to add another villain instead of a hero, Vossler mayhaps? Annnnnd XIII, for villains, I'm gonna have to say Cid Raines. I would say Jihl, but come on, bint would have her arse handed to her.

EDIT: Nevermind, FFI, II, and III aren't getting new characters, just read on wikia that all new characters will be from the SNES era onwards.

On a completely serious note... Is it just me or are all the female characters getting de-boobed? :hmmm:

All that breast jiggling suddenly doesn't seem that exciting :sad3:
