this has been going around like wildfire. According to the official mobile website, a new project of Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch was announced to be launched. The detail will be given next year.

ok for all of you who can't read japanese( like myself) here is a translation

This is a new genesis ... the day of rebirth. Today, Geass has reached a new stage. You will be cast a new Geass soon. Hope, wait and desire it enthusiastically.
Don't forget. Geass is like a wish. If you wish, Geass will...

This can also be found on Geass.jp with more animation.

so what are takes on it?

~ on a side note Happy Birthday Lelouch~

also, at Lelouch's birthday party in Japan (yes they actually had a party with all the vocie actors), Noriaki Sugiyama (Rivalz) kept saying 'now that the TV anime is over...' so it might not be a new season.

~note i haven't seen any other confirmation on this one~

Hm, well, I'm really hoping for this, but I don't think it's going to be like some sequel or anything. If I were to guess, I'd say it's more likely a spin-off series or a movie. I mean, after R2's dramatic finish, I doubt they'll do something stupid and unreasonable (like, say, a certain someone coming back to life?). Gotta admit though, R2 was handled a little badly. Maybe R3 or whatever will fill in the plot holes.

Great, just what this world needs...

I absolutely despise this series, its an absolute train wreck, and that is putting it nicely. Suzaku is perhaps the most insufferable, obnoxious and damnable hypocrite in existence (I absolutely HATE his self-righteousness), it really peeves me when people compare Lelouch to Light (who is a well-developed, intelligent and quite interesting character, despite the general ridiculousness of Death Note at points. Lelouch is a spoiled brat who makes unoriginal chess analogies and gets everything handed to him), and the storyline was just abysmally cliche. In every way possible, it was sub-par, and sitting through both seasons was perhaps one of the biggest wastes of my time, in my life, ever. About the only thing I liked about it was the dub voice acting. I am VERY anti-Code-Geass, and the idea of ANOTHER season is a little more than I can stomach, especially considering I'll probably be forced to watch it...

This had better be a prequel, though...if it is set after R2, and Lelouch is in it, I shall be even more annoyed...

Won't make me all that excited.Although I enjoyed the story I despise Lelouch.People make him look like he is right and like he's a God when what he really is is simply a killer. He himself never gave a rat's *ss for the Eleven, all he said was that he did everything for his so called revenge.
The only person I felt had depth was Euphemia, who became a victim of his.Suzaku was good too,but in R2 he became so whiney,I felt at times that he acted on emotions.Became too predictable.

Lelouch had a very......complex personality. It's true that he's killed tons of people, but saying that he's nothing more than a murderer is a bit much, though reasonable.

He died in the end, didn't he? And it was pretty much so he can direct the hatred of both the Britannians and the Japanese (Elevens) towards him instead on each other. Basically, when he became emperor, he became the ultimate bastard on purpose so people would hate him. I think Kallen was right, when she said in the epilogue that it was easier for people to hate on one guy instead of a machine (Damocles). Anway, I'd say that was pretty admirable of Lelouch. The guy wasn't perfect, but he cares, in his own, twisted kind of way.

All right, as for a new Code Geass, ignore my post from earlier, because I think it's very possible that this new 'project' could be like a remake of R2. I say this because, well, R2 was badly handled. Plot holes were everywhere! And, I'm pretty sure the staff cut out a lot of stuff that was supposed to be in their original plans (C.C's name, Kallen's dad & brother, etc).

I'm kind of surprised about the announcement of a third season. I absolutely loved the 2 seasons, but the way it ends...where do you go from there? xD

I mean, it might be a prequel as people suspect, but maybe it can also be
Suzaku's role as Zero maybe?

And I suppose there's also
C.C.'s presence as well. I wasn't sure, but does she still have her power, or is that gone?

I'm pretty certain C.C. still has her power. I don't think the end ever showed anything about her losing her code or whatever.

I think it's possible that they'll focus on Zerozaku, you know, see how he handles the peace. There's always people who want to ruin it. Guess he'll be fine........he's got Schneizel (spelling?).

But, I still think that it's an R2 remake. Because Code Geass ended up getting a time slot change, there was a change in plot, and details were cut out (like a certain red head's missing GUMLINE). I don't know, I'm just guessing here.

Lelouch was righteous, Sakuza was a pain in the ass, if you didnt like this anime then why bother watching it, idiot....

I loved the anime, Lelouch was simply doing wht should have been done , period -__-

Naive just like Sakuza...

Well, I'm not too sure anymore about a new CG anime, but it has been confirmed that there will be a new manga. The artwork is going to be done by the same person who did Nightmare of Nunally, so characters will look different. Goro Taniguchi himself is going to be supervising, so I'm sure it's canon related. The manga isn't a sequel either, it's a prequel, and I think the main character (Renya or somethng) is going to be related to Suzaku somehow. There's also a character who looks like Lelouch, but with longer hair. Actually, I think that the only character there that we've already been introduced to is CC.

I have only just now finished watching the first season and will soon be watching season 2....its amazing and addicting :) I hope it does continue on but the company who made it went bust didnt they?

I dunno I havent heard anything about it going bust but there is a new Geass season being made focusing on new characters it basically is set during the Black Knight Rebellion but Lelouch and the main cast aren't the main characters this time round.

I'm looking forward to when they finish season one and someome sub's it ~.~

That was suppose to come out in 2010 or 2011, so far nothing... I have almost forgotten about it to be honest. I mean till some real info comes out, I am not going even bother looking it up.

The lack of connection to Lelouch might actually make it watchable, although I highly doubt it; after all, he wasn't the only problem with that awful, AWFUL anime. It amuses me that it's taken them something like two and a half years to get this up, though - the anime equivalent of FFXIII? Most probably.

I suppose I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it, but just the name "Code Geass" severely diminishes its chances of not be complete and utter bullshit, or just a cheap cash-in designed to capitalise off the unwarranted and thoroughly bizarre success of the main series. But I suppose it could be worse...it could be a sequel.

I'm going through the first season right now. It's like crack or something to me. So freaking addictive. I would love another season, even without Lelouch. I personally like him (so far). I have avoided reading some of this thread for fear of spoilers. But I get the feeling Lelouch is going to do something down the line I won't like......
