Is anyone else interested in this game? I saw a review on it and read what the story was about and I would like to play it. I hope it gets a US release becasue right now it is only has a Japanese release date (Feb 2011)

Basically, there is a rumer going around about men dying after dating a certain woman. The main character is dating another woman named Katherine and she may be pregnant. Then he meets a woman named Catherine and she is basically the girl of his dreams but may be connected to all the men that have died.. The game play switches between the dream world and the real world. The dream world is a night mare where if you die in it, you die in the real world. In the real world, you have to please both Katherine and Catherine.

Yeah I saw this and was realy interested in it. I dont realy play to many games like it but after waching some of the trailers I did want to try it....I like the morbidity of it realy...and there arent to many games morbid and fun to me.
I did read some people found the main charecter to be a jerk and unlikeable but honestly what guy who cheats on his girlfriend and continues to do so is?
Personaly I found Katherine prettier than the blonde ....but im partial
I also hope it makes a US appearence

This game looks very interesting. I love Atlus for always trying something different. It better get released in the US, I want to play this sooo bad. I believe that character was on Persona 3 Portable, but named guy in bar or something like that. And of course you know the music is going to be great, it's Shoji Meguro!

I haven't watched the gameplay, but I heard it isn't like the Persona series, it's more like an action game, but I'm not really sure

Well tbh I only clicked to read about this because it's my real name XD, but it does sound like an interesting concept :hmmm: I'm not partial to psychological thrillers though, and it sounds sort of like one, so I probably won't be playing it anytime soon.

It looks like an unusual, yet interesting game. I might check it out if I ever see it over here in the UK. I do like psychological horror games. The name is also fitting because I know a rather psychotic woman named Catherine. >_>

I am definitely getting this at launch. The Persona team are talented in incorporating thought provoking, meaningful symbolism in their stories with effective game design. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to show with this experimental installment. Looks like we're going to look at love and sex from a trippy psychological perspective, I hope this game explores gender and society too.

Well the game looks very interesting and yet it looks really weird at the same time. I like the sound of how the story will play out, but I am a bit unsure about the game as I don't think I would like it. I will have to wait until I hear some more information about it but I will still keep a look out for the game as it does look interesting

It certainly seems interesting, and I've always been partial to games from Atlus/Shin Megami Tensei. They tend to have deep stories and unique plot twists, and so I'd like to get this game. Probably not at launch though. XD I'll wait a few months for its price to go down a little, or risk buying a used copy when one becomes available.

It seems to be an odd combination of Silent Hill and Persona 3/4. Silent Hill with the whole alternate worlds thing, and Persona with the social aspect. I just hope it finds the right balance between the two aspects, instead of overwhelming us with too much of either.

And Shoji Meguro's composing, which guarantees a fantastic soundtrack. I'm wondering will he bring his usual classical rock, or his more rare orchestral tracks. Of course, we might get the J-Pop we heard in the latest Persona games and the original's remake.

If there is a demo of this game floating around anywhere sometime soon, I'll have a go at it and see just how weird this is. I haven't read up on a lot of the game because I'm not fully sure what I think of this game. It really does sound bonkers but hey, that's something you'd expect from a team like this I suppose. I had a little giggle at the Japanese game covers though - I think they sum up the adult-orientated nature of the game well. xD

I've been waiting for this game for a while. It looks pretty awesome and I'm hoping it comes to the US one day. ^^ I really like games like this and the mind boggling content within it sounds pretty trippy. I wasn't keeping to many tabs on this but I'm glad to see it's comin out in Japan. The whole cheating thing at the beginning gives the game a little realism so I really like that :P Yay Catherine!

I am kind of wondering if the demo was for Japan only. :hmmm:. The game just came out a few days ago in Japan. The covers for 360 and ps3 are both different and "adult" I guess. It does not interest me much as of yet. Persona does seem to be the better choice than Catherine. Would always look forward to trying a demo though if it does come here.

I am kind of wondering if the demo was for Japan only.
The demo? You mean the entire game!

"If you’re waiting for Atlus and Team Persona’s bizarre erotic horror-arcade puzzler Catherine to be localised, you may have to wait a little longer: Atlus’ US PR has told BeefJack, very apologetically, there are currently no plans for a North American release. Catherine is a Japan-only game and there are no plans for a NA release at this time. Sorry about that!” reads the statement"

Ah well that is a shame then. Not a big deal though. But I guess no hopes for a demo then . Thanks for clearing that up.

Typical. Atlus FINALLY produce a decent-looking game, and they don't release it outside of Japan. If there aren't any plans for a localization now, I doubt there ever will be...too weird for us westerners, I suppose. Which is a real shame. It looks pretty hilarious, and the remixed classical music is incredible. Ah well, maybe someone will create an English patch...

They're probably wary of how it will even sell in the west I suppose. I don't quite blame them when you look at the sheer weirdness of the game itself. It's a major shame though as there are all these niche and unusual games that never make it to our shores, or only reach us a long time afterwards in fear of acquiring poor sales (purely because it's unconventional) while your generic grey shooters are churned out in droves. I hope they do get Catherine out eventually. Even if I don't end up playing it, I want to see more things like this reach our shores.

I suppose to be fair to them, the game simply will not sell a huge amount here, even the game cover, in our audience, will deter people rather than attract them. Anyway...

The release was confirmed on the game’s website. It’s shipping this summer.

US retailer GameStop had pegged a July 26 release in a listing on its website before it was pulled.

The game was rumoured for a western announcement yesterday. Atlus will publish the game in the US, but it hasn’t been confirmed who will be the publisher for Europe.

You may want to take a pick on one of these four, though: Tecmo Koei, Square Enix, SouthPeak and Rising Star Game

I'd rather not have SE have anything to do with it. Atlus is great, they've never done anything to make me have a problem with them. I, for one, am happy that Atlus will be publishing it. We're bound to get a OST with the game and an artbook. Fuck yeah. :ryan:

Also, that ecksbawks treesixdy cover is hot. Fuck all those self-conscious pussies that don't want to buy it in public. :mokken:

Ah so we are getting it? That is indeed awesome. Must try it out when the game comes over here. Hopefully the 26th is for Europe as well or it will likely be a month after.. :hmmm:

Square Enix published Persona 4 in Europe, maybe it'll be around their area. If Square Enix has any credibility left, it'll be them publishing better games than they develop themselves.

I honestly couldn't give a flying toss who publishes it, so long as we get our special edition.
