Are you a hoarder or a neat freak?

Everyone is properly gonna laugh at me, but I am alittle of both. I tend to find it hard to let stuff go, and I have been known to reorganize the same space 7 or 8 times in one day. (each time makes it neater. Also by reorganize I mean that I also clean the area.)

I try to be neat, but it just doesn't work out for me. I can't keep my room cleaned up for very long, just because there is not enough room for me to put everything away. So when I have to, I clean up really well, and it lasts for a couple days.

I am such a neat freak! even my piles of junk are organized! And those piles of junk are soon organized into a place that I make space for by organizing other stuff. Im an organizing junkie and that's that makes me awesome in my own way!

I'm somewhere in between. Yes, I hoard my stuff, but most of it stays in my room (as it has to) and it all has a place. If I find I have no space, I will re-arrange and will try to send a few more things to the charity shop. I can't imagine getting rid of any of the games I have now, though. And there are very few DVDs I'd consider sending away. However, I have been reading a few books recently so that I can send them on their merry way! :) I hate getting rid of books before I've read them. The problem is, I buy books faster than I CAN read them. Which is why I am getting a Kindle for Christmas. -_-

The one thing I keep which I don't need is probably boxes... I have the boxes for all of my games consoles, my laptop, various other electrical appliances... :wacky: I just want to make sure that the boxes are there in case I decide to trade a console in... Even though it's not likely...

I really can not stand junk. :gonk:

Like Lirael I do tend to keep boxes of some things, mainly my consoles but they stay stacked neatly in a cupboard out of sight. I go through it every now and then and clear it out when needed. But the point is, the cupboard is only small and when I can't fit anything else in it I clear it out, which helps me control the mess and clutter from overflowing into the rest of the house.

It sort of makes me realise that once it starts to get full that I'm obviously keeping too many unnecessary things. XD

Though for Steve I can not say the same. :sad3:

We have three bedrooms in our house and we share one and then have one each for our things. My room has hardly anything in it, apart from the computer desk and two portable clothes racks.

Steve's room never really sees the light of day. It is somewhat organised. It isn't a complete mess, since we cleaned up most of it last time, but there is most definitley a lot of junk that will never be used again laying around in there. v_v

If it were up to me I would throw the whole lot out but he wants to sort through it first. Hoarders. XD

:hmmm: I'm not really a hoarder or a neat freak :hmmm:

I do keep things if I think that one day I may need it in the future but I don't have so much random junk laying around that i am drowning in it. I'd like to think I am a tidy person, but I could stand to be a little neater.

I'm a neat freak.

I always keep my tables in the study room clean at all times, and to make sure everything is organized. My clothes are all folded up and organized. Basically I keep everything neat and organised. XD

A little of both. I do like to hoard books; I prefer to have a copy in hand instead of on a tablet or such. Otherwise I do keep rather neat. Even now I'm cleaning my room and organizing my shelves.

Found a large number of high school textbooks that I...found...and have no use for so I threw them in the bin. Other trash as well. So far three bags full.

I'm more on the neat side, but I wouldn't say I'm a neat freak since I'm not completely OC. However, I won't keep things I know I have no use for. I declutter my room every summer and during sembreak. Recently I just threw away audio CDs I knew I would never listen to again (and if I wanted to, they're available on the internet). During my last clean-up, I took all the stuffed toys I could find in my room (save for the penguin) and moved it so I can donate it soon to the storage room.

I keep papers though, but only those I might need someday or those that have sentimental value to me. Like my uni acceptance letters from four years ago, highschool report cards I'm proud of and letters from friends (all the way back to my closest friends when I was in Grade 5). :wacky: Somebody else mentioned books... I can't remember ever throwing away a book. Oh, and pictures also.

It depends on what we're talking about. I am a neat-freak, yes, but I also like to hold on to some things. Generally though, whenever I'm cleaning my room, I'll take a trash bag and my goal is to fill it up with whatever crap may be lying around. It gives me a sense of fulfillment once I fill up one bag.

Clothes - I go through my closet once every few months and give away the ones that I don't really wear. Sometimes, I come to a point when my side of the closet it almost empty...and that's when I say, "I guess it's time to go shopping..." - though I don't go crazy with shopping. Maybe one or two clothes at a time for every 6 months. If that. o_O When it comes to my kids though...I tend to keep a lot of their baby clothes. I have the hardest time giving away a lot of their clothes. My daughter's toys, however, is a different story. I'll give her a trash bag and say, "Fill it up with toys that you don't use anymore so we can donate them." We usually don't have a problem with that.

I tend to keep a lot of my school stuff. I'll put them in a box. I still have some of my high school papers. :hmmm: I'd like to go through them when I'm a lot older.

There's still other miscellaneous items, but at least they're packed away neatly. When it comes to moving time though, that's when the real clean-up begins.

i am messy

but if something gets too messy, i kind of just organize it or hit the format button.

speaking of which; I've had a lot of crap in the corner of my room behind my entertainment center and bed, i'm considering just throwing it all out by the road on trash day.

I'm NOT a hoarder *stares at empty shoe box that's been around for months*

Okay fine, maybe a little. But not crazy bad.

I like to think I'm a neat freak, but mom disagrees. I can find things better in my messy room than anywhere else. Leave me be. Anyway I'm a bit of a hoarder and most def a neat freak.

I'm a NEAT FREAK. No, not really. I have a few obsessive-compulsive habits, but other than that I'm just neat and tidy.

I can't function in a messy area. I can't study, read, play video games or even hang out in a messy area without getting antsy. So now I just pick up after myself and my apartment usually stays pretty clean. :)
