With E3 just around the corner, Yoshinori Kitase and the rest of Square Enix are preparing for the big event with a special Q&A Twitter session regarding*Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster*and*Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII,*which will be available to watch through live stream.

Square Enix Presents is the name given by the company for its E3 events that will be available to watch through live stream for the Japanese audience. It will feature various interviews and other specials that will be exclusive to the stream channel throughout the duration of E3 starting on June 11th.*On June 13th, from 9am to 10am Japan time, Square Enix Presents will be holding a live streamed Q&A session with producer Yoshinori Kitase. There are six different themes of questions, memories and other thoughts that can be posted through Twitter.*Here are the themes:

*Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
1. Anything you’d like to ask Lightning.
2. Any information regarding Lightning sitting in town.
3. Questions or fond memories of the*Final Fantasy XIII*series

*Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
4. Any questions for a Sahagin?
5. Questions or fond memories of the*Final Fantasy X*series.
6. Humorous*Final Fantasy X*images.

You can post your questions and memories, too, by putting the corresponding number for the question and using the hashtag “北瀬さん”. They will most likely only answer questions that are in Japanese, but don’t feel discouraged if you have a basic understanding of the language. Last month, during the*Atlus Live 2 Days event, Atlus kindly answered some fan questions from the West.

^^PERSONALLY I will be taking advantage to say ff13 series sucks I. Japanese

Only 2 questions

1. Is Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD really going have DLC's for the last mission and extras?

2. WHERE THE FUCK IS VERSUS????

that is a XIII question technically still right????

I was going to report on this until I saw the themes. Then I realized it is a way to turn askers into promoters more than it is to answer questions. Don't take it too harshly--if there's anyone that still loves SE, it's me--but I also know a marketing ploy when I see one. "Answering questions" sounds very honest, generous, and inclusive. But wait, did they actually say they'd answer the questions? Nope, they actually just requested that people ask questions, and furthermore they are controlling what those questions will be so that they can give the answers they wanted to all along.

I hope it turns out to be fun for everyone who participates, I really do. I just can't personally get behind it :P

When Square mentioned that they were opening up to accept more feedback and suggestions from fans, I thought that would be pretty neat. But they're not letting fans really get involved, by the looks of this. They're just handing out questions for fans to ask. I find that ridiculous.

SE just trolled me again. I was slightly excited when I clicked on this thread.
Then it all came crashing down.

I mean really, 1. Anything you’d like to ask Lightning.?

There isn't anything unknown about her after 3 installments in the series.

I have a number of questions to ask Lightning or about Lightning:

-Why do you exist?
-Is that your natural hair colour?
-Why couldnt you just stay away and like not return?
-When you are sitting in town would you be so kind to take a 13 day holiday so that the doomsclock could permadeath you?

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
The Staff Answers Your Questions

March 11th, 2013 by Tony Garsow

In January I attended a media tour for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII where director Motomu Toriyama and producer Yoshinori Kitase presented the game concepts and an early build of what we’ll be playing later on this year. You can read up on all the juicy details by clicking here for our three-part First Look.

I got a chance to follow up with Motomu Toriyama after the event, and after compiling some of the questions that were sent to me via Twitter, our forum, or asked in our previous articles on the game — I return to you with five answers. Remember to weigh in by leaving your comments below! Without further ado:

Final Fantasy Network: Can you explain more about the story progression, where does the doomsday clock come into play, and what things can players do to play efficiently?

Director, Motomu Toriyama: The setting of the story indicates that the “remaining world time” is 13 days, but at first, Lightning is not necessarily going to be able to use all 13 days as she wishes. As Lightning saves people’s souls as the “Savior,” carrying out the works of a god, you can extend the remaining world time by one day. In the game, there is a clock UI that constantly shows the time of day. The player is to decide what course of action to take by referring to the clock and planning for any side-quests or events. It’s not really about using a sort of scheduler to map out efficient time management, but more about experiencing the world and letting it sink in naturally.

FFN: Is the gathering of equipment and abilities for Lightning’s Styles the main approach to making her stronger during her journey and are there other growth systems in place?

Toriyama: The main approach for making Lightning stronger will lie in obtaining weapons and outfits. In this installment, we are putting a lot of effort into Lightning’s customization. And one concept that’s part of the direction we’re taking is to link the growth of Lightning’s ability with the customization of her look. So in other words, by obtaining visually appealing weapons and outfits, the character becomes that much stronger.

FFN: Are the different areas of Nova Chrysalia being designed to offer unique gameplay experiences? Can you provide some examples?

Toriyama: As you may already know, Nova Chrysalia has 4 major continents. And each continent does have its own individual concept in terms of gameplay experience. For example, in Luxerion, there is a quest in which the player will have to act as a detective to solve a murder mystery. While you are on that quest, Lightning will be able to sneak around and hide behind objects in order to follow the culprit without being discovered.

FFN: Are there plans for a digital release of the game?

Toriyama: Yes, we do plan on releasing a digital download version.

FFN: What is the most rewarding part of working on a Final Fantasy title like Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII? What part of development do you enjoy the most personally?

Toriyama: More than anything else, this title is part of the first trilogy ever in the FINAL FANTASY series. I am very happy that we were able to create the character Lightning, who has become so popular over the years, and the world in which she is involved. I also enjoy taking a different approach with the game with each installment, like we did for this trilogy.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be coming to your PS3 and Xbox 360 in Fall of this year.

*snort*

"Ask us anything you want, our dearest fans! Anything! We will be transparent and answer whatever you want, just as long as it's about Lightning and how much you love FFXIII!"

I have thought long and hard about what I wanted to ask, and I do believe that once these are answered, we will sit back placid and content.

1. Anything you’d like to ask Lightning.

1) How did you go about designing the Goddess?
2) How many pages and words did it take to write up Lightning's insanely complex and detailed personality bio?
3) Do you find Lightning to be so gorgeous that she turns you on?
4) Do you pleasure yourselves to Lightning?
5) If not, have you ever thought about it?
6) Would you like to do it now?
7) Can you please tell the peasants that Terra and Yuna don't count as female main characters, and to prove to them that the beautiful Goddess Lightning is the first, and true, main female protagonist in Final Fantasy?
8) Lightning's L'Cie branding was above her left bosom. Did you all consensually agree to putting it there straightaway, or did some of you prefer it to be in another area of the body?
9) How can you possibly top the Goddess Lightning as a character in future games when she is so deep, complex and original?
10) What were your inspirations for her outfits? Do you think her outfits should be made into an actual fashion range for stores?
11) Tell me more about Motomu Toriyama's recent marriage to her. Is it true that he ended up loudly humping a cardboard cut-out of her halfway through the ceremony like some rogue and feral creature?

2. Any information regarding Lightning sitting in town.

1) Why is she "sitting in town" when there is a fucking time limit before the moon crashes down on Termi- uhh, I mean, end of the world?
2) Does it feel wonderful to know that HD towns aren't hard after all?
3) Is she sitting in an outdoor cafe?
4) What is she having?
5) Does Lightning drink dark coffee?
6) Or does she prefer light, milky coffee?
7) Does she have any company, or is this the worst 521st birthday ever?

3. Questions or fond memories of the*Final Fantasy XIII*series

1) Have you ever considered releasing a whole encyclopaedia book? I am sure lots of people are a bit confused as to what is what, what is going on, and all the confusing bits of time travel stuff and backstory at this point. They'd love to read 1000+ pages to catch up in time for LR.
2) My fondest memory of FFXIII was the Pope man disguising himself as Serah, and Snow rushing to embrace...him. I therefore ship the Pope with Snow. Can you please recognise this pairing as canon?
3) If you do not recognise it as canon, what do you make of Vanille and Fang?
4) Or Lightning and Hope?
5) Are moms actually that tough?

4. Any questions for a Sahagin?

1) What is your favourite method of killing humans who wander too closely to your territory?
2) Do you like eating your human flesh raw, or do you roast it a bit first?
3) What do you think of the Xbox One?

5. Questions or fond memories of the*Final Fantasy X*series.

1) What inspired you to include that Leblanc massage bit into FFX-2? Did you have fun recording her voice actress's segments for that minigame?
2) Seriously, why does Auron not have any armpit hair? Is it because it would have simply looked horrifying in CG?
3) Why did you not include a small interactive flashback to when Jecht was drunkenly attacking a Shoopuff?
4) Why, in that screenshot above, do none of the characters produce a shadow?
5) Why does Wakka look so stoned in every screenshot he's in?
6) How does Lulu's dress work? How does she move in it?

10) What were your inspirations for her outfits? Do you think her outfits should be made into an actual fashion range for stores?

Oh dear god, I can honestly imagine this happening. And then all the emo kids will want to buy said clothing. And it will be embarrassing for everyone. -_-

God I hate Toriyama. Hes happy ti have a female cloud only with more sassy. And the fact that this is the first trilogy ever in an ff series...ughhhhh.......god that guy burns me

Oh god. I think I'm so done with Square. This is just, ridiculous. Just screw a poster or cardboard picture of Lightning and get it over and one with Square. We all know that you have the hots for her.

1 Any Questions for Lightning ?

Yeah can you fuck off ? You are not the greatest Final Fantasy hero ever created and stop acting like that you are, tell Square, your lovers that you need to buzz off. Leave, go away. And bring back Zidane or Yuna or something. A actual good Final Fantasy hero.

2 Any information something Lightning in Town ?

Yes. Who the fuck cares ? The fucks I give are 0.

3 Any fond memories of the Final Fantasy XIII series.

Caius. He's one damn sexy beast. My body is ready Caius. My body is ready.

4 Any questions for a who the fuck cares ?

5 Any fond memories of the Final Fantasy X series

Yes. I loved having Lulu, Yuna and Rikku in a party. It was like YRP but done right and less cheesy and " Charlie Angels "
Seymour's wedding hat. I demand that to be on sale for people to wear ! It was damn sexy, just damn. That hat.
Tidus and Yuna going " HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA " in Luca
Seymour battle on Mt Gagazet. It was damn hard, but so fun and challenging.
Lulu, Rikku, Auron and Yuna they were just the best.

How nice of them to allow their fans to ask questions about the games and characters they play as, as long as they stay along the 3 topics of their choice. I'm so glad SE truly cares about what questions we have about the direction their series is going to go and the future of Final Fantasy.

Why ask questions about the next numbered Final Fantasy in the series, when we can know Lightning's cup size, her sexual orientation, and what she does on the weekends :ohoho:

:wacky:

Typical.

I'm sure the game directors and the company itself is going to have a really hard time coming to terms with the fact that they will actually have to do some work and have to create some new characters and storyline with the next title of theirs. They won't just be able to recycle the graphics and characters from the previous game.

They probably think they are showing they still care about the fans enough to involve them a bit in this new game, but they've screwed it up by giving parameters on what they can and can't ask. They knew they'd have to do this because they know the first question they'd get asked is wtf is Versus.

I am so happy right now.... :D at first I was all like, what the fuck? But then I read more and I was all like, whatever man. I guess this is cool for..... Casual fans. I really wouldn't clear room in my schedule to be a part of it though. I guess it's just..... For shits and giggles. Maybe it's supposed be serious. IDGAF. :jeri:
