Yes. It's October

and yes I've started

I had it all done by November last year, after the last minute dot com drama of the year before with all the twats in the shops, I will always aim to have it finished early. It also means more beer money over the festive season and that's always good

Got the kids shit well under way, almost done with her now. The rest of the folks will be 3 for 2's at Boots!

Anyone else started?

I always say I'll start early but nearly every year I'm still buying presents up until Christmas Eve. :gonk:

I plan to buy gift cards this year though so that should save me a bit of time shopping around. The only thing I need to work out is what shops the family likes.

It'll be cheaper this year too because I'm not spending more than $20 per family member. That alone is $140. >.<

I plan to buy all my Xmas presents on the school mega shopping trip (uh, hooray? Going to York this time).

The problem is, I don't know what to get people. I don't know what they like, or the amount I should spend...

I like to try to start about a month ahead usually, unless I know of something really great that someone will want and probably won't buy for themselves, then I'll just get it when I first get the idea if I can afford it :hmmm: I hate waiting until the last minute lately though, because most of the presents I give have to be mailed, and if I want to give anything like books, CDs, movies, etc., they hardly ever have anything in stores anymore because everything can be downloaded now >_> Which has its perks when you're buying for yourself, but it's annoying at gift-giving time. So a lot of times I have to order gifts online and then mail them to people, which takes at least 2 weeks.

I usually do good when it comes to Christmas shopping. Most of the time I start on Black Friday so I can see what kind of good deals I can find online then just spread the rest of the shopping throughout the month. Usually I manage to finish by no later than the 3rd week of December. The way I see it, if you finish it too soon, you miss out on deals and if you do it too late then you're just asking for a stressful time.

Well, for this year I will be cooking/baking sweets, thinking of buying small XMas Cards for the members of the family..along with the sweets ^^

As for my special someone,I am knitting a red scarf to send it over to him..
~_~ Handmade presents are the best, and I think it's less cheaper if you think in that way.
So,to answer to the question: as in the last years, buying presents for Xmas was such a joy and all that, doing it around November,'cause I was to excited to wait till in December lol.

This year..I am saving more money for other purposes, more important to myself,so..I am sticking with sweets for Christmas and cards. ^^'

I'm normally awful for Christmas shopping. Last year I did it all in one day, the day after my best friend passed her driving test, the day when all the snow started hitting our area. It was not an experiance I want to repeat, so this year, I'll be phasing all my shopping out so I finish before December. I'm using lists and everything this time, not last minute panic-shopping.

I'm not really one to plan. The gift that I give someone may just as well be a surprise to me as it is to them.

Hell no! It's early October damnit!

I generally start in either late November or early December. More than anything, I have no idea what to get anyone until then, so that's why I wait that long. I usually start to figure out what I'll get for everyone around the same time, so I'll generally have all my shopping done within a few days. :lew: But I need time and I need the Christmas spirit to help inspire me on what to get.

i never have the Christmas spirit

And I resent having to buy folk gifts when its my birthday, so it's out of the wayyyyyyy as soon as humanly possible

Also. Beer money. needed for xmas

I probably won't go Christmas shopping until the week of Christmas. I really don't have anyone to buy for, so I'll buy a couple for myself and for my animals. But I do all that about 5-4 days before Christmas and that's it.

I won't even bother thinking about it until late night shopping starts in about a month. It's not until then that I even realise it's Christmas. I only buy for about 4 people so it doesn't take me long to get everything.

Too early for me. I also don't have enough space in my apartment, so stashing Christmas presents would be quite a problem. I usually do my shopping a few weeks before Christmas so I don't run into people-traffic. The only ones I'm doing shopping for are my husband, daughter, husband's siblings, and then my cousins...and I have a lot of those. Hrm, can't afford that. Might just do a one-gift-per-family thing. Yeah, that'll take care of it.

I know a few people who've already finished nearly all of their Christmas shopping already, and they even have them wrapped! Half the fun of Christmas for me is watching Christmas movies and wrapping gifts by my tree all lit and pretty

i think my mums already finished

and I too hate Xmas, so getting it all done and out of the way before the twats hit the shops and the blizzards are blizzarding. People piss me off. The sooner it's done, the sooner I can forget about it, and save all my December money for alcohol

i'd cancel it altogether if I could get away with it

And Ive done it the run up to crimbo before, never ever again :gonk:

queues :rage:

I was just talking to Steve about doing this, just this week.

I'm not really into it as much as I obviously used to be when I was younger. Steve's family have never celebrated it so he's not fussed and I don't have any kids to please.

It sucks because I'm expected to do it for my family. My mum will have a meltdown if I tell her I can't be bothered with it. She had a go at me simply because we didn't have a Christmas tree one year. =/

Gift cards are all my family are getting this year and maybe some little extras but I really wanna break the news to them next year about not celebrating it anymore. >.<

I've started thinking about it, although I won't start buying things until probably October half-term, since we're going on a shopping trip during that week on a day when I'm not at University probably. I don't have to buy presents for very many people (7 people, if I include my grandparents, which I may not) so I'm not feeling amazingly stressed about it. Although if I start buying presents for friends again, then I'll have to start very soon and get everything sent off mid-November, because most of them live abroad, and shipping stuff abroad in December is impossible.
