Girls on online games.

In the SB we were discussing how rare it is to see a real girl on online games on consoles such as the PS3, Xbox etc.

Loads roam about on Playstation Home... But they are almost always men dressing up to fulfil their fantasies of pulling and making text-love to other men.

I knew a couple of girls that played on Socom on the PS2, but I must say that has to be the only time I've actually seen one online like that.

I'm guessing it is either:
They don't play the sort of games that have online play.
They don't use their mic to reveal that they are girls when they speak and just play, as opposed to a lot of males who always annoyingly hog the mic and shout abuse and random stuff down it .



Anyway, I'm sensing that this is turning into a bit of a weird thread...


My question is, how often have you seen girls play online games? I know they do, but it really isn't that common in my experience.

I know a FEW genuine girls online, and I think it's a lot down a lot t that they don't want to reveal their gender, because a lot of guys on online games, as Argor said like to text chat other men xD

It's funny as hell when you see guys do that, and reveal themselves later with you in view, then try the same scam on you and think they succeed xD

I've come across a couple of females when I used to play Halo 3 online, but that's really the only game where people talk and give away their gender (in my experience).
I suppose it's a matter of the type of games I play really.

Ive played online games, well, only PSO and PSU for the DC/PS2, I dabbled on PS3 home for about, 5 minutes before I got scared and left, there's some weirdos on there

I certainly WOULD play online games, if I had the console for it, and if there was anything I fancied, if TS2 was released now, Id be all over it - Id probably deem it worthy of buying a PS3 for, so god help me if aniother Timesplitters DOES come out... ¬¬

I played a little on my brothers XBox, and got TERRORISED by his crazy friends, who I couldnt understand because they were Scottish (olol)

Also, something else Ive noticed, is when I played PSU, and I fell into my own little group that I teamed up with ,there was another girl, and bugger me, did she hate me I did NOTHING wrong other than be female

I have two girls on my friend list on the PS3, some hayleycorsa lass that I played with on CoD4 and a moderator from Zelda Universe, other than that I haven't really seen that many females online There's a few on Home, although like you said, half of them are male xD Danny pulled a German one, she's either a man or a butch dyke

Incliuding my girl I generally play with a rotation of 12 girls online. All of them are pretty decent at their particular game. As for Xbox I seem to find women everywhere, but the problem is some are a bit slutty in my opinion. Slutty as in a little too open about their sex life, or just "loved to be liked by all men" type thing. So mostly when a group of my friends get together it generally consists of 3-5 girls and less guys.. which I thought would be rare, but considering we all respect each other I guess the ladies feel comfortable. Unlike when they play Halo or something and 6 other pre-teen kids are like.. "Ohh ohhh a girl!"

Problem is we always have a crazy guy in the mix who ruins if for some. So we have to kick him out of our group sometimes because he is trying to get with a girl or 3 on xbox out of desperation. Its a running joke though. Anyways, so yea, there are some quite cute girls online, as well as some hot ones as well, so I guess the gaming generation is finally here.

i don't go online anymore on xbox live, but when i did, i met quite a few girl games, but bare in mind this was back a few years when halo 2 was very popular.
i didn't think it was that rare.
but nowadays i have no idea who goes on.

Wow. That's pretty interesting because I've yet to play with a girl on online PS3... Well I may have played with one without realising it.. Basically no-one has revealed themselves as female through mic or anything like that.

I guess all that is down to wanting to avoid people instantly trying to hit on them for being a girl that happens to be playing a game.

I guess they reveal themselves more in big clan type games... Halo seems to be quite a good game for clans, and that is what Socom was as well. People actually worked together as a team in Socom and plan tactics for each map. I think that was the only online game I actually used a mic for a large period of time and where most of my online gaming friends come from.

I knew a few girl gamers through this because in the games with good clan systems they seem to come out more I guess over time. Whereas in other games where you barely hear anyone speak, and when they do it is a 14 year old dude speaking to himself, or one or two dudes talking to each other about random stuff... Or some dude with a baby on his lap evidently crying his eyes out for attention but getting none. I've yet to hear any real "clan" type talk on CoD 4 for example. So I guess girls don't want to put their mics on and get involved in the silly conversations that are had, just like most other people.

Actually you would be surprised how many girls flocked too Left 4 dead. I assume it is because it is a horror/action game and they threw a female gamer in the mix. I also know quite a few girls who still love the Tomb Raider franchise, but of course they usually stick to multiplayer games.

We've done a lot of versus with 4 girls vs 4 guys via xbox, it gets down right nasty with the name calling, but nothing over the line.. just all in good fun.

I would say 4 of the girls on my friendslist are married. Three .. are trying that route, but basically at the end of the night tell their "dating" horror stories. The most interactive game we all play is Texas hold'em you generally find most of the ladies there.

There are so many people on Runescape who claim to be female, but you just know its rubbish when they stand at a crossroads and say "lookin 4 bf". I came across a few on Guild Wars, and I'd probably trust those ones more than Runescape "girls".

A few of us were all taking turns on CoD4 the other day, and when one of the girls started playing (headset and all) most of the guys on there were shocked.

I went to PS Home once and I like to sit by the river and act as a carefree, but I believe I can see lots from there, you know what I saw? Men are moving in groups and the one group talk to one girl! apparently they are bunch of nerds with no self confident and trying to learn couple of techniques so they can do it in real life.

Lol. All the girls i know that play online games are my RL friends, so definitely, they are there and not overly rare. I completely agree with Spike about how guys scare off girls. One time, i was playing teams with a few of my friends in COD 4. We had our headsets on and shit and one of the girls were really good, pulling off headshots. Then randomly, one of the guys online started to call her a slut and ranted nonstop in the lobby about raping her or some shit Worse was, that he got shucked into our team and for the whole game, he was just baggin her out. After that, she never used her headset again. So im not surprised they APPEAR to be rare. I mean, who'd like to be playing while guys are just screaming the'd rape you in their ears?

NEVER.. i only met one girl i can say im 100% sure was female in the 7-8 years a played that game xD.. holly plays xbox live alot, and uses mic. she loves cod5 and ...halo plus a few girls who i was really good friends before some stuff happned with them , but was strange, they was best friends, both models (both had done small work in near by pole clubs) both where completley bonkers, raves all the time ect, but boom, they where BIG-TIME gamers in privte .. they where cool, but srrfice to say holly wont let me see them again =/
