[SU/D] Perpetual Twilight

I might go for the Armsmaster's apprentice if it comes to that Vikki, but if anything I would rather like to do it over the course of the RP, if that is okay with you. Either way of course, that means I will have to expand on the bio. By the way, I've made the requested changes and lengthened the Attire/Armor

To be honest Gav, that just makes the Royal Guards redundant. If they were strictly just guarding the castle, theyd be castle guards. And as far as i know, realisitcally, all Royal Guards have always guarded the Royals on rotation, wherever they may be. They may have a handpicked preferred guards, but i dont think they'd every purposefully create a unit for it.

Agreed, the Royal Guard often acted less of a military unit and more of a ceremonial group/gendarmerie, even before there was such a thing as a gendarmerie.

I'll read over the bios in a little while when I actually get at least one of my own posted.

Also, the Royal Guard are both palace guards and guardians of the Royal family. They are already a very select group in and over themselves. And I know, tipsy, that in NORMAL rankings that is how it goes but Crystair has a Commander that Commands the entire military unit (he also has command over the actual army). Each detachment (the royal guard being one of these), has a captain who defers to the overall Commander.

Jesse is special. >> There isn't anyone else who could play the General character in the way he's meant to be played. He's held that role through all versions of this almost.

As for there being a group that specifically escorts the royals and has more skill than the guards... they have personal bodyguards who are typically assassins or warriors. Each royal would have had one, like the Prince has the Assassin.

I meant it that that is also how it is done in the medieval age (the later parts anyhow). Just a tid bit, just in case, but alls good since you already knew. Also, since that is teh case, would the rank of lieutenant be ok to put down next to royal guards?

Yes, that's perfectly fine, Tipsy. Go ahead :3

Gonna get my bios worked on in a bit. The Oracle may not be up for a while due to her magic set... hahah her's is massive :sad3:

[Name] Aria Iscariot
[Age] Nineteen
[Race] Winged One
[Gender] Female
[Sexual Preference] Bisexual
[Class] Assassin/Archer
[Position/Title/Occupation] Prince's Champion and Bodyguard.
[Allegiance]Chaotic Good
[Element] Darkness
[Starting Ability] Black Arrow.
Aria imbues her arrows with her dark magic, shrouding the tips in shadow. They deal additional darkness damage upon contact
and are much harder to see in dark places. Easily seen in well lit areas. Perfect for initiation in shadowed terrains.

[Weapon]Nightingale.
A bow of ebony wood that suits the young assassin to the ground. It is ornately carved with a bird along the bow itself
and the bowstring is as fine as spider silk. It is an incredibly accurate bow (or perhaps Aria herself is just an amazingly
accurate shot, it has not yet been confirmed) that has rarely missed it's mark. The arrows that accompany Nightingale
have black shafts and silvery feathers. The tips are made from moonsilver, and so have the bonus of dealing more damage
to those under the influence of shadow and spirit (undead, demons, and the like).

Throwing Stars.
In addition to her bow, Aria keeps several throwing stars about her person. These are barely three inches in size and fit
nicely into all the little nooks and crannies of her armor. She is known to carry at least eight of these on her at all times.
It is unknown as to whether this is the maximum she is able to stow, but seems to be the average number.

[Armor] Being an assassin, it is vital for Aria's armor to be lightweight and to allow for her innate flexibility.
She wears a simple leather chest piece that covers only what it really needs to and ends just past her rear.
Beneath this, she dons a pair of black shorts with a white skirt. A pair of black leather boots cover her feet,
ending just past her knee with brown leather at the toes and a slight heal. Her armor set is completed
by a pauldron set that keeps her shoulders protected and a pair of matching gloves. She will accompany this
with a black traveling cloak when necessary.

[Personality] Aria is both cold-blood killer and a kind-hearted individual all rolled into one. These two sides
of her often conflict as she prefers not to show that she cares, seeing it as a weakness. Because of this, she
often appears to be unapproachable and closed off to others. She is stoic and unwavering once her mind is
set, yet her actions are always for the good of those she is protecting. You could see her as an ice-queen,
which is probably kind of apt, but at the end of the day, she is a natural born killer and therefore does not
express her emotions like most.

[Physical Description] To be completed.

[Backstory] Omitted for story purposes

This is a good bio. And I am aware you have another one to post but you don't want to double post so I am posting here.

XD Actually, it was so I didn't double post this :wacky:

SO GUYS. Survivor is happening, as you all know and whilst some of you probably want to hold on to all that hard earned gil,
if you have an ounce of compassion or wish to see the team with the most charisma and character win, drop some of that gil

[Name] Prince Talistos Balinar [Talis]

[Age] 19

[Race] Human

[Gender] Male

[Sexual Preference] Heterosexual

[Class] Paladin

[Position/Title/Occupation] Prince

[Allegiance] Good

[Element] Light

[Starting Ability] Converse: Allows Talis to speak to the recently deceased for up to three hours after their death.

[Weapon] A steel rapier, very thin and long, and razor sharp, suited to slashing and stabbing movements. It has been charmed to deal more damage to beings of darkness, such as demons, the undead, and those who have given into dark magic. He also carries a set of small knives at his belt in case this rapier is ever disarmed.

[Armor] Light silver armor that allows for defense, fast maneuvers and breathing room. Its disadvantage is it doesn't offer as much protection as heavy armor, but it does allow him to move around more and with more speed. This armor set consists of a chestplate, greaves, chainmail and chain gloves. Talis does not wear a helmet in battle despite the disadvantage this puts him at.

[Personality] First and foremost, Talis is reckless. He often throws himself into serious situations without any regard for his own safety. He has very little in the way of caution, much to the chagrin of his bodyguards, trainers and the Assassin. He blindly rushes forward, knowing only the basics in the way of strategy and careful planning, preferring to leave such thinking to others.

He is also dangerously stubborn. If he sees what he views as an unjust act taking place, he'll find it hard not to rush out and defend the victim of this unjust act, and will likely do so if he watches for too long. In such occasions, physical force is really the only way to drag him away from the situation, or quickly ushering him away from the perversion of justice.

Fiercely loyal to his country, his guards, and anyone else who stands by him, he is likely to get into a verbal of physical fight with anyone who slights them or puts them in danger. He has grown up with most of his Loyalists, and will not allow them to be undermined.

Despite his interactions with people outside of the royal family, his stubborn spirit, and his training in the sword, Talis is less physically and mentally durable than the rest of his group. He was given all the perks and advantages of a member of the royal family, and experienced little in the way of actual detriment aside from the occasional injury from training. As such, he is unlikely to have as much endurance as his followers, in any sense of the word.

Since the invasion of Crystair and the deaths of his parents, the King and Queen, Talis has been in shock, and hasn't spoken a word. It is as of yet unknown what effect this event will have upon his personality.

[Physical Description] Slightly shorter than the norm at five foot seven, Talis is slender, though wiry, possessing none of the fat or pale faces most spoiled royals come to have. Due to a lot of training in the outside, Talis's skin is lightly tanned. Outside of battle, he typically favors more casual pants, t-shirt and shoes combo over the fancy royal robes Crystair would expect him to wear.

Talis' hair is short, brown and tousled, usually unable to be tamed even if someone goes over it with a comb. His eyes are almond shaped and baby blue, set in a round face. A few scars exist on his arms and legs due to training wounds.

[Backstory] Born as the only Prince of Crystair in that generation, Talis was given everything he needed as a child. The finest food, the best clothes, and the most loyal servants. However, he didn't become the reclusive Prince most royals had in the past, instead becoming actively involved in helping his people, showing up to court proceedings, volunteering in events to help the public, and going on diplomatic missions with his escorts.

The arrival of a bloodied girl in Crystair went unnoticed by him, as he was only a child at the time. However, soon their fates would become intertwined when at the age of twelve, his Converse ability awakened, and saved Crystair from losing land to the Umbra region. Talis's mother, afraid of what this power would mean for her son's future, had the woman known as Aria become a bodyguard for her son's sake.

As his first real friends, Aria and her adoptive brother became very important to Talis, although he never thought of the relationship in any real detail. However, seeing Aria's proficiency in battle made Talis want to defend himself as well, and so he began training with the rapier. Although the rapier training earned him some odd looks, since most males chose to train with heavier, unrefined weapons, he didn't care, finding the rapier the weapon he was most talented with.

This training was to come into play sooner than he would have liked when the Umbran army invaded Crystair, killing his parents and many other people. He has been quickly ushered out of the throne room and into the halls by Aria, the Commander, and his Loyalists, and is still in shock. This is his history up until the beginning of the story.

Gavin AEtherae I just C+P'd my bio from the previous iteration of the RP, and didn't change much. The History for sure wasn't touched. So my fault if something in there threw you off.

<- Doesn't know a damned thing about military rankings.

So apparently it's all one nice large conglomerate. Then given Valur's skills, would it be appropriate to allow him to be in a mounted division?

There would be a Cavalry division that he could be Captain or LT of. I should probably specify Crystairs military units in order.

The strongest are the bodyguards to the Royals.

Next are the Royal Guard, followed by the Dragon Riders. Next would be the Cavalry, also known as the Pegasus Division. Then the infantry unit.

Also to note. There's only three Royal Guards left alive. The Commander, Tipsy's character if she's the LT and The Guard.

oh yeah that reminds me. Hey miss. apart from the obvious races (human, elf and such) do you have a race limit or can we make a race up as long as we have a good back story to it and what about half breeds?

There's no limitation on race. You can be as creative as you want. Hybrids are also accepted. The Oracle is a Hybrid herself.

I'll be looking over the next set of bios later/tomorrow. Got some graphics things to do first. :3 Team C better love me. :hmph:

[Name] Echo Maxwell
[Age] 21
[Race] Human
[Gender] Male
[Sexual Preference] Asexual
[Class] Assassin
[Position/Title/Occupation] Jester
[Allegiance] Evil

[Element] Lightning
[Starting Ability]Silent Shock: Imbuing his daggers with electric energy, Echo stabs quickly, releasing the energy through the wound he inflicts and causing numbness and possible unconsciousness in his victim. This is used as a quick incapacitation technique. The deeper the wound, the stronger the shock.

[Weapon] Dual ceremonial daggers studded with tiny emerald and ruby beads, curved at the midpoint to allow for more severe wounds to be inflicted as the blade goes in and comes out.
[Armor] A typical silver suit of armor sans helmet, covered up by a black t-shirt and skin tight pants to allow for camouflage in darker areas.

[Personality] Somewhat unhinged, Echo is prone to giggling fits here and there, though not very often. He can often be heard muttering, dancing, humming, or outright singing to himself, and will talk to plants, trees, animals and the like as if he can actually commune with them.

He can often be childish, using many infantile words and terms as opposed to more refined ones that befit his age. He’s incapable of holding a conversation of any actual meaning, finding much more pleasure in inane chatter and the like.

He desires reassurance and the assertion that he is still of use to the Tyrant. He has very little in the way of personal self-esteem, and finds his worth in his job-killing.

When actually on the job, Echo becomes focussed and cold, though is still prone to the giggling/dancing/singing fits that plague him even when he’s off duty. He never fails to kill his mark, and his own personal safety comes very much second to fulfilling his duty.

[Physical Description] Very short at five foot four, with a smooth baby face and bright eyes; one bright blue, the other green. His complexion is pale, though not incredibly so, and he has a short button nose and thin lips. His hair is a deep, unbroken black in a short though somewhat neat style.

He is very slender, though wiry and very physically fit. His short stature helps him manoeuvre small passageways and track others very well, and he often utilises this to his advantage.

Although he doesn’t show it due to his armor and clothes, his body is riddled with scars and burn marks, particularly his arms, legs and back. The green eye is purely artificial, though due to magic reforming the necessary muscles and tissue, he can see out of it clearly.

[Backstory] Echo was a street rat from the very beginning. Although he was in an orphanage for a time, it shut down, and nobody bothered to take in the children. The weak died, while the strong stole and did what they had to in order to survive.

Of course, as children steal, they don’t distinguish between the strong and the weak, and so when Echo stole from some slave traders when he was sixteen, he had messed with the wrong people. Captured, his right eye was gouged out, and he was whipped, burned, and beaten to within an inch of his life before the Umbran security forces caught the slave traders as they left town, and after they resisted, they were cut down by the much more experienced Umbrans, and the slaves were taken to a medical centre.

The next several months were a haze of pain, rehabilitation and exercise to get back to himself, and naturally Echo was a little mentally unhinged by the entire experience. However, when his rehabilitation came to an end, he was offered a place within the Umbran military, with the promise that if he accepted, all of the medical bills from the painful months that had passed would be taken care of, as well as an artificial eye provided and his scars removed. All of the victims who had survived had been offered this; their strength having great promise to the military.

Although he accepted the eye, Echo chose to live with the scars in a rare moment of lucidity, as a reminder of how brutal and cruel humans could be, as well as how the Umbrans had taken care of him when he had needed it most. With that done, Echo dived into his training with determination.

Quickly rising up the ranks due to his prowess in stealth and dual wielding daggers, after a few years Echo became the Tyrant’s personal assassin, as well as becoming something of an unofficial Jester to the leader of the Umbran Kingdom. Echo was sent to deal with the Tyrant’s personal problems as they arose, quickly proving his worth to the upper members of the Umbran hierarchy.

Echo was integral in the invasion of Crystair, personally slaying several of the Royal Guard to allow the Tyrant to reach the Throne Room unimpeded. As of the beginning of the story, he is simply sticking knives in corpses for the fun of it.
