BACKSTORY
a story of uprising and rebellion against a usurped throne

Crystair, a land once ruled by a kind and gracious King. For uncounted centuries, the same bloodline sat upon the Crystal Throne, and the Kingdom did flourish undisturbed by the blood of war. It was a beautiful land, with silvery trees and lakes of the clearest, shimmering blue. To the east, upon the glittering horizon, one would see the Dark Spire that represented the land of Umbra, its' tip forever shrouded in a gloomy darkness. To the West lay Precipia, the land of the Winged Ones, though they have long since gone into hiding.

That changed on the day that the Dark Army marched against Crystair. Soldiers battled upon the fields of war, shedding blood that had not be split in centuries. The Crystairian Army fought valiantly and barely managed to push the Dark Ones back. That was just the beginning, however.

So began the Perpetual Darkness.

There has long been a legend told to the children of Crystair; a fabled story of the one known only as "Lionheart". In these takes, he is a courageous man with the bravery of a hundred men and the ability to control the purest of light. It is said that with this light, "Lionheart" could destroy the darkest of evils, cleanse the hearts of the weary and relay messages of the recently and long dead. Eventually, the children stopped believing in this hero. Such a great man existed only in takes, did he not?

Perhaps the most skeptical of all who heard these legends was the young Crown Prince. Even at the tender age of four, he found these heroic tales just a little hard to digest. On the one hand, he wished such a man existed, for the war with Umbra would finally come to an end and his parents wouldn't keep him under literal lock and key. Yet another part of him knew such people did not exist outside of children's dreams. That these heroes were nothing more than characters in stories to aid the children of the world to sleep easier and feel safer in their beds.

Umbra, the land of Eternal Darkness... no good had ever crossed its' border with the fair Crystair. Even as the war between the two kingdoms raged on, a new power slowly rose deep within the capital's shadowy bowels. In just one year, this new power rose to the top and killed the then Queen in cold blood. Umbra had a new king; a man so dark that the shadows themselves seemed light in comparison.

He was a patient man... and so he waited. His opportunity would come to take the eternally beautiful land of Crystair.

Just after the Prince's fourth birthday, a strange, bloodstained child was found wandering the village just outside the castle. A dagger gripped in her hand and her face and limbs smeared with the crimson lifeforce of the dead, the child was easily mistaken for an orphan of war. However, she had not merely found the dagger after witnessing her parents' demise; rather, she had indulged in the murder of a rather offensive man who seemed to think that she would potter along to his home with him if he offered her sweet things. The young boy that found her did not think of things that way, however. A brave child, he approached the girl and guided her to his house where she was quickly cleaned up and fed.

For four years, the girl refused to speak and the family into which she had been adopted feared that perhaps the child was mute. She squashed this believe when she spoke the name of the boy who had saved her, and taken her under his wing. For a further four years, the girl spoke only to her new brother, and would often follow him to watch him as part of the Royal Guard. It was on these little trips that the girl often saw the young Prince, and in time, she went with her brother more to catch glimpses of the boy rather than to watch the training. The girl was slightly envious that her brother seemed to be on quite friendly terms with the handsome young Prince.

Still the Tyrant (as he had been named by this time) and his Dark General; a man clad in dark armor who seemed to be made of the shadows more than he was human, waited.

The Prince reached his twelfth birthday and with the celebrations, came the awakening of his inner light. A single solider survived a skirmish on the Umbran border, only to die upon making it to his King. The Prince, however, was able to relay a message from the recently deceased, using a skill known as "Converse", to his father. This ability saved many lives that day as the King was able to call out his men and create an ambush which ultimately prevented the Dark Army from taking command of the border.

The Queen, fearful at the enlightenment of her son, appealed to the girl's adopted parents. Her wings had just sprouted, revealing her to be of the Winged Clan (Natural born assassins). Knowing the ferocity and loyalty of her kind, the Queen took her on as his bodyguard.

So the Prince and Assassin finally met. The guard was promoted to Commander of the Royal Guard shortly after and the trio merged fully as a force. It would be this bond that proved vital just six years later.

Finally, the time had come for the Tyrant to take Crystair and he did so with little, to no resistance. Having waited so long in the darkness of Umbra, his forces had grown to outnumber those of Crystair. Not just men, but creatures and beings from the darkness depths of Acheron...

It was not so much an invasion as an out and out massacre.

The Prince, Assassin and Commander made it to the throne rooms seconds too late. The King and Queen lay slaughtered, Crystair's new ruler sitting upon the Crystal Throne. Upon resting his eyes upon the Prince, the Tyrant ordered his immediate death. However, the Assassin lived up to her title of the Prince's bodyguard by dispatching all that came his way.

This is where our story begins. I must get the Prince out of the castle and to safety. There are others who we must try to save along the way, but ultimately, the Prince's survival is the key. My Brother is fighting to help us escape. I don't know how long we have.

Meet with us and help our Prince... or stand against us and be cut down.

The decision is yours.

The Winged Ones

A race of beings that were created by the Gods to be the perfect Assassin. The Gods, however, had not counted upon the gradual loss of humanity that came with every life taken. Over time, the Winged One transform into a demon of pure darkness (around the age they hit maturity - nineteen human years), losing any shred of humanity they may have had left.

The Winged Ones very in appearance, but always sprout wings around the age of thirteen. Typically, these wings are black but other, dark colours, have been known to exist. Up to Maturity, Winged Ones look very much like an average human aside from the wings for which they were named.

so I think that's everything covered. I've restarted this due to being asked to by several people... Let's hope it lasts longer this time, neh.

Once accepted and just before the starting post for the RP is posted, you will each be PM'd by me, informed you of where you start and what you're basic objective us. You will then be PM'd as the RP progresses, to give you a general path you should head towards, without spoiling what is going to happen for everyone else (so let's not push ahead too much, neh?)

I will use the character that I used last time in the role that he was in last time. Can't remember specifics, but I'll hunt the bio down tomorrow.

Or today.

[Name] Gennaen (jen-NAY-en) Lifegrip (sh, Vikki)
[Age] 45
[Race] Human (Umbran)
[Gender] Male

[Weapon] Twin-bladed Dagger (Mentalius) The dagger Mentalius consists of two 9-inch long blades that drive outward from a 5-inch long cured leather grip. The blades are rectangular in shape, ending in a sharp point on the outward edge of the distal part of the metal. The steel is tempered and darkened, and flecked with chips of silver imbued with arcane magic. The handle is made of the same darkened steel, and the grip is a shade of blue so dark it is nearly black.

[Class] Shadow Priest
[Position/Occupation] Dark General, Second-in-Command to the Tyrant of Umbra
[Element] Charlie Murphy

[Starting Ability] Transfixion - After a short incantation, two psionic spikes appear above the enemy's temples, pointed inward and down, so they would meet at the base of the skull. After a split-second pause, the spikes drive downward sharply, impaling themselves into the enemy's mind. The spikes cause no direct physical damage, but can disrupt several mental processes, and causes a significant, and against a weaker target almost paralyzing, amount of pain. Transfixion has the capability of disrupting a spell mid-cast, as well as the capability of causing an opponent to drop a weapon. It may also disrupt sensory perception for a short amount of time (five seconds at the most). The spell drains 15% of Gennaen's base mana pool.

[Physical Description] Gennaen is an imposing physical specimen, standing 6'6" tall, with broad shoulders, belying his distaste for virtually all forms of physical combat. Weighing at 245 pounds, his body weight is distributed evenly across his frame. With medium-length black hair, and eyes of a brown so dark it looks black in the daylight, Gennaen's facial features do little to hide the dark energy emanating from his being. The Dark General is usually dressed in a flowing robe made of enchanted spellthread, colored midnight blue, dark purple, and black. The robe is full-length, its hem brushing the tops of his feet. At times, and whether it's an optical illusion caused by the colors of the robe isn't clear, Gennaen seems to dispel momentarily, becoming pure shadow.

[Personality] Gennaen rarely if ever shows any form of emotion. His personality, while not cold per se, has no excessive warmth. No one is above his contempt, from the lowliest common foot soldier, to the highest ranking officer in the Tyrant's army. The only person he holds in any amount of esteem is Rhade, the Dark General.

[History] Gennaen's origin is unknown. At the age of sixteen, he appeared in Umbra and signed up to join the military. Showing a strong inclination toward magic, he was given to the dark priests of Umbra for training purposes. Gennaen advanced quickly through the ranks, finishing in four years a program which took most novices ten (or more) to complete.

At the gala in which the Dark Tyrant overthrew the Queen of Umbra, Gennaen took his usual position of silently watching the goings-on from the shadows at the outskirts of the ballroom. When the ritualistic slaughter of the loyalists to the Queen took place, Gennaen had his subordinates do much of the dirty work, not deigning to get his hands dirty.

In later years, the invasion of Crystair was largely possible to the subterfuge of Umbran double agents directly under the command of Gennaen.

I wasn't sure which character you'd want to use, hence reserving both the tyrant and the general. but of course, the position will be yours. =D

Ringo~ I'll add her into the characters tomorrow once there's more than one to put it (there better be more than one by then :sad3:)

Heya vikki. I shall be c and ping my old profile from the last one over. I will touch it up a bit, so ill give you a shout when its done ok? btw, i was a loyalist. Btw, power would be Wind.

EDIT: Nvm, ill be mix and mashing a character.

Matabei.jpg

Hair: White ponytail that reaches to the small of her back angled at 30 degrees upward

Eyes:
u Hazel Green eyes

Skin Tone:
White pink

Height:
210 cm

Weight:
95 kg. Heavy for average females, but for her height and occupation, she is just perfect

Build:
Henrietta has a small frame build, meaning she is naturally slim, rather than being well set. Slight and petite she isn't but she has the chest and butt of a female with generous proportion.

Tall, leggy and buxom. Henrietta is a female knight of impressive size. She stands at an impressive 210 cm tall, towering over most males even. Her major features is her height, her bust and long legs. Given her size, she is stronger than many soldiers and knights. Her hair is white, done in a mid ponytail that trails down to her waist, while she has slightly off eagle wing bangs. She has hazel green eyes with a light pink complexion. Despite being a knight and her long employment in the army, Henrietta has been lucky enough to have no scarring on her body

[Armor]
#1 #2 #3
Henrietta is a heavy knight. Therefore, she wears a fair amount of plating. Given her strength, the weight class is more like a medium armour to her. At the very base, Henrietta has a white dress that covers her chest and down, like a tube top dress. It somewhat hugs her waist before flaring out like a dress. At its hem, it has intricate lacing borders (refer to pic 1). On top of that. she wears another dress. This one is blue and covers her shoulders, arms, lower abdomen, throat and waist bar the front. It has a corset area which tightens the dress onto her, leaving the chest area open and on top of that, a leather armour corset to tuck in loose cloth so the dress does not snag (pic 1). Similarly, the dress is open down near the leg, showing the bototm white dress. A seperate front apron is worn on top to cover it (picture 1). Along the borders of the dress are also intricate gold patterns. Its shoulder area is kind of fluffed up before it tapers back down to her arm. On her legs are a pair of white trousers.

The actual armour part consist of many pieces. The chest piece covers her entire chest, back, stomach and throat. Like the dresses, it has rather detailed etchings and has blue engravings on the front chest area. Her shoulder pauldrons are seperate pieces, held in placve by a leather strap around her biceps and a leather loop and hook between the pauldron and chest piece along her collar. The gauntlets are actually asymmetrical. Her right hand is more lightly armed than her left. With plating on her fingers foreheand, wrist and forearm, it itself is rather sturdy due to the overlapping plating build. The left is similar to the right, except it has thicker plating attached on top of the three above her forearm. This one is made purposefully to block and deflect full sword strikes. The armour skirt covers her waist and pelvic bone, with the side skirts covering most of her thighs to the side via overlapping platings. Between the chest piece and the waist skirt, there is a small gap there so she can move her waist. Henrietta's boots follow suit, being metal armour. The feet is slightly heeled and there is a pivot point at the ankles so she can walk and run without issues. The boots go all the way to just below her knee, whilst the front has a knee protector, where a leather strap is wrapped around her leg to keep the protector to the knee.

Henrietta also wears a sallet at times. It is open topped so that her ponytail can stick through the top. It has a large forehead protector and side protection, covering parts of her cheek and most of the side fo her head. Along the top of the helmet, she has four sturdy feathers standing up in place.

[Personality]
Henrietta is devoted to the crown and its family due to her past. She is willing to do anything and everything in order to ensure the survival of the lineage. A side affect of this is that she is an extremely loyal person, to her friends and her country. However, devotion aside, Henrietta is relatively light hearted. If there is no imminent threat or business to deal with, she takes things as they come. While she is capable of teasing, joking and general merryment with her friends and companion, she retains a high sense of responsibility, just like an older sister or a mother. This sense of responsibility, such as trying to make sure her friends are safe and trying to keep them out of trouble, gives her a maternal feel at times. As a result, with this maternal instinct and her loyalty, she is more than willing to throw herself into danger if it meant she could help out a friend. Along with that, panic does not come to Henrietta. If things begin to heat up and become worse, she takes it as it comes. This is mostyl due to the from birth training she has been put through, that panic leads to death.

Her family is of noble background, meaning Henrietta is well mannered, composed and cultured. Her speech can be somewhat formal, usually ending her speech with Sir and ma'am or lady. This may make her seem somewhat submissive and subservient as of she is talking to nobility, but the only person she is ever truly subservient to is her liege and its family. As a knight, she gives all that she meets with equal respect, particularly those that she cross swords with. Even with the scums of the earth who are doing nothing but being antagonistic towards her, Henrietta has enough composure to not rise up against these provocation. She can smile it off, but if it really does come down to a fight, she would deal the most minimum damage needed to settle it. She is a good judge of strength so she knows when to stop. However, this only applies if it is directed only at her. Those that are aimed at her friends, she would stand up for, but still tries to be civil. If it still came down to a fight though, Henrietta would be the first into it for her friends. God hlpe those that malign the throne.

The lifestyle and ethos of the Genevieve family is virtue, loyalty, fealty, chivalry and honour. That means she is devoted to her comrades and friends to a fault, making her an easy target for betrayal. She has lived through a few of those before, but it has not stopped her in trusting people. She is just more cautiousm but not by much. Her blind trust often makes people think she is dumb, but on the contrary, rather than dumb, she is quite intelligent, but gullible and credulous, making her a prime target for pranks from friends. Henrietta is open, straightforward and kind. A bad liar as well, which makes her an awful gambler at certain games. To make up for it, nature has given her incredible luck tot he point of miracles. How other tell if she is lying is by her speech, which becomes much more stiff and has a hard time looking at the person in the eye. Instead, Henrietta tries to sugarcoat harsh words and try to balance out negative things with positives. In arguments, she can be quite forgiving, willing to put things behind her if it isnt too serious. A simple apology would do as well. She would even aplogise along, if it makes repairing the relations easier.

Her sense of justice is rather high. In face of strangers that had committed crime, she just can't run from it. If it doesn't compromise her mission or cause issue with her companions, Henrietta may confront. However, it gets complex and conflicting if her companions commit crime. Rather than immediate action, like an older sibling, she would try to understand why it had been done and may try to prevent it from reoccuring. She knows that it is hyprocritical, but she does not have the heart to send her friends to prison or to the law.

[Starting Ability]
Swirling Gust: A circulation of wind around the sword that distorts the refraction of light, making it seem invisible. This makes it hard for the opponent to gauge and parry her attacks since they cannot discern the length, width and actual position of the blade by actual sight. The pressurized air can be shot out offensively in a for of intensive gust that can cut through things caught in it. If kept on the sword, it will increase its swinging speed and its cutting power. When encased over herself or an object, the buffering wind makes the item lighter.

Piercing Point: By gathering a swirling wind at her forearm, she can launch the wind into piercing ranged strike. The strike resembles a thin drilling action where the winds rotates at amazing speed. It is through a thrusting motion that allows it to be shot out.

[Weapon] #1 #2
Henrietta's main weapon is a heavy claymore named Claidheamh Beag. It is kind of ironic as its meaning is Little Sword. 130 cm in length and three kilogram in weight with a black hilt, only Henrietta's physical prowess allows her to use it mounted as if its an Arming Sword. A piece of black smith artwork, this claymore is perfectly balanced and can cleave through enemies with ease.

Along with her sword is her shield. Used mostly when she is mounted. When not in use, it is hooked onto her back.

[Backstory]
Henrietta had lived on the border of Crystair, her family owning a large plots of land and being a middle lord. Their family had been loyal and devoted to the royal family when their first ancestors were saved by the King's forces. Ever since then, most of the males enlisted into the military with the loyalty hammered into them. The females were the same, but served to assist in raising the boys to serve for the Empire.

When Henrietta was four, many of the elegible males left for the capital to enlist, leaving the farmers, the old men and the females. No brigands were smart enough to attack the Genevive Farmlands, as it was reputed to produce the finest soldiers to serve the empire. However, one suicidal band attacked at the right time when they were at its weakest. The men poured into the farmlands, pillaging, looting and killing. The men made a futile struggle, holing up in the main manor of the lord. When all seemed lost, Soldiers from the army arrived, saving the family. The imminent death and miraculous save burned into her mind. From then on, Henrietta devoted herself to become strong and, abandoning all else, went off to join the army.

Through years of training, Henrietta's devotion, stubborness and her gifted body ensured she soared through the training regiment and, like all of her blood relatives, became one of the finest soldiers of the army, the Royal Guards. When the attack came, Henrietta was away from the castle. Her squad double timed it back to the castle in order to defend it. On the way in, she caught sight of the Prince, the commander and the Assassin. As the trio charged into the throne room, Henrietta stayed out to cover the exit. It wasn't long before the three came back out. Their retreat signalled to her that the king and queen is dead. Instead of staying behind and surrendering, Henrietta followed the Prince in order to ensure his escape.

Hmm. I think I'll make a character now.

Edit 1: Both are revamped as of now.

[Name] Asbel Leir
[Age] 19
[Race] Millitean. (A race supposedly 'descended from the stars' Their bodies hold slightly higher then normal natural healing rates. Another oddity to them is the fact that time reacts differently to them. A week to others is a year to them. The last oddity to them is the fact that they can 'shape shift' into anything that they wish)
[Gender] Male
[Sexual Preference] Hetero
[Class] Assassin.
[Position/Title/Occupation] Ghost Walker (I'll work with Ghost Walker)
[Allegiance] neutral

[Element] : Spirit
[Starting Ability] Victim's Rage: The Spirits of the dead cries out for blood as it materializes into a ghostly shape of Asbel's weapon. Instead of following the weapon as it attacks, it will attack in the opposite way. So if Asbel slashes left, Victim's Rage will slash right (This is a continual mana drain at a rate of 3% per 5 seconds). Another way Victim's Rage can be used is as a instant warp in all direction five yards. He is immune to any attacks while warping, but can be knocked out of it at before he actually warps. Another drawback of this style of Victim's Rage is the fact that if he warps, he can't attack during the warp. He can only attack upon exiting the Warp (This cost 15% mana drain per warp). He can't use both ways at the same time. He must either declare weapon or space as he calls out the ability.

[Weapon] A seven foot long serrated Scythe with a spear bit on the bottom. The entire scythe is metal and lightweight.
[Armor] Asbel's armor is his clothing. Being an assassin means his first strike must be a killing strike.

[Personality]: Asbel's personality is one of cold indifference with a dash of pessimism at first sight. Bearing the title of Ghost Walker, being a witness, and main cause of deaths closed off any sense of emotion save for cold cruelty, anger, and aloofness. Once Asbel finds a person he trust, his personality changes to one of quiet confidence. Very rarely, Asbel will show normal emotion. The one trigger that will make him mad beyond any reason is if anyone is treated like a slave in their own household. He does not have many social experience, so a good portion of his actions and what he says stems of naivety.

[Physical Description]

AnimeScytheFate.jpg

Asbel is a a tan 6 foot man weight in at 200 pounds with black hair that falls past his shoulder and tied in a pigtail fashion. He has green eyes. His entire clothing is black to help conceal him at night. Over all of the clothing, he wears a green robe. His scythe blade is silver while the handle and spear bit is all black. The actual design of the scythe blade is based off of a bat's wing.

[Backstory]
Asbel was an orphan at an obscure orphanage. Never knowing his parents, he learned from a very young age that everything was not given freely as one woman took him into her household. Treating him like a mere slave, she forced Asbel to perform tasks that should have never been asked from a young boy. The only kindness he ever received during his youth was from an old lady that lived near the house he worked at. She gave him food, a name, and most importantly a reason to continue doing the things the lady of the household did. In his mind, he could care less about the lady in the household. But if he could steal money from his victims, he could help pay back the elder woman that helped him out so much.

That all shattered at the age of 16 when the Household lady ordered him to kill the Elder lady. Instead of complying, he turned on her and killed her. He left the house just to find the Elder lady who helped him out dead in her own home. In her hands was a Letter addressed to him. It asked Asbel not to seek to help her, but to live his own life. To that end, she used the money he stole from his victims to give him a present. Asbel looked over to a corner and saw the scythe sitting there with a green robe on it. Moved by her letter and the gift, Asbel dug a grave for the old lady that helped him through his hell that he called his life. After he paid his respects, he left the village and effectively vanished.

Three years later, at the age of 19, The man who has taken dozens of assassination missions and now known as the Ghost Walker received two request for aid. One from the Kingdom of Umbra written by the king himself asking him to take part in the Massacre of Crystair. The other was from an elder in the Kingdom of Crystair asking for a defender to the Kingdom. Taking both request, Asbel set off to Crystair to decide his own place in history.

[Name]: Sophie Iria

[Age] :26
[Race] : Catgirl (You know I had to go that route.)
[Gender] : Female
[Sexual Preference] :Bi
[Class] Paladin with extensive experience with all weaponry.
[Position/Title/Occupation] ARM MASTER
[Allegiance] Good

[Element]: Water
[Starting Ability]: Healing Shield: A shroud of mana surrounds Sophie as any damage sent her way is converted to healing. While it does not increase defense by any means, it is very effective for healing. The healing effect is weaken if Healing shield surrounds multiple people. (10% on one person +5% per person).

[Weapon] Her preferred weapon is a shield and Long sword named together as the Crescent moon. But becoming an ARM MASTER and having access to many variety of weapons provide her with flexibility and enough ease and mastery to use any weapon effectively. The weapons beside the Crescent moon are the standard issue weapons and have nothing unique on them.
[Armor] Her armor is a form fitting armor that offers flexibility more then defense. As of all armor, it is heavy and very durable. The armor itself has minute signs of wear and weather as little scratch marks can be seen on the armor if they were to take a look at it carefully. The armor is greyish black with the cape being the same color and bearing the symbol of the Crystair Kingdom.

[Personality] Sophie's personality stems from her service in the Kingdom. She is professional and loyal to the Prince and only to him. She was originally open and kindhearted when she was younger until the murder of her family shut down all emotions save for anger. Serving her time as a normal foot solider reopened her sense of sadness at the needless deaths. Once she became the ARM MASTER, she slowly reopened the rest of her emotions as she trained and eventually finds one of the few joys as the cadets she trains grow into their station. Many of the cadets trained under her will say she is strict and extremely tough, but that stems from the fact that she does not want them to die which many of her older cadets will thank her for. While she may seem unapproachable at first, she tends to have a soft side to anything cute and fuzzy. Bonus points to anyone if said item can be picked up and carried. When that happens, she melts down to a calm and bubbly character while hiding her emotions quickly(i.e poorly).

[Physical Description]

Female-Knight-Anime-Cute.jpg

Standing at a 5'3 and weighting at 150 pounds without armor, her slightly tan skin coupled with her light red hair that falls well past her shoulder and stops at her waist as well as her cerulean blue eyes makes her an oddity on the battlefield since most people expects someone like her to be a housewife. The skin bears the mark of war as faint lines of cuts and scars shine through. Her armor, being blackish grey, also shows signs of wear and tear, although the armor itself lacked a helmet. The Black cape that comes with the armor is the standard cape with the white color Crystair Symbol in it. The Shield and Sword that she has on her are decorated blackish grey along with her armor, but in addition to it, the white outlining of the Crystair Kingdom's symbol is embedded into the shield. The sword has the same symbol embedded into the hilt of the sword. The neat trick of the shield and sword is that there is a sheath just behind the shield that the sword can slide into, making the shield look more like a diamond shaped shield. With her armor on as well as her shield and sword raises her weight to 230 pounds.

When she does not have her armor on, she wears a grey shirt with brown pants with a standard issue bow with a quiver stuffed full of 100 arrows, a 6 inch dagger on her right leg, and a standard issue sword on her hip as well. Nothing too unique on her clothing and it shows less signs of wear and tear on it, signifying that she has worn such clothing for less time or she is uncomfortable with it on. Her hair is tied up at the end with a ribbon at the end to ensure a piece of femininity.

[Backstory]
Sophie Iria started her life out as a normal girl. Running around without a care in the world, fawning over the random man and such. It was not until the murder of her family at the age of 8 did it start the chain of events that led to her current position. She originally swore vengeance towards the people that killed her family and towards that goal, she quickly made herself known by mastering many weapons of slaughter. She was called a prodigy of her peers earning the interest of the higher ups who presented her with a promotion.

Refusing the promotion at age 16, Sophie was deployed to battle as a mere foot solider. Valiantly facing against the enemy, Sophie killed many while defending her allies, earning her the station as the Paladin. It was during one battle she met up with her family's killer. The battle between her and the killer was short and fierce as Sophie slew the killer. Feeling sadness over completing her goal, Sophie retired from the battlefield. But the higher ups did not want to lose someone of Sophie's caliber. So instead, they offered her a position as the Arm Master while offering her a custom made armor and the shield and sword named Crescent Moon. Sophie agreed to the position and took it up.

At the age of 20, Sophie was training a group of cadets with the Prince watching a bit on a raining day when she had her first meeting with the Assassin. Finding her interesting as Assassin watched a particular cadet, she announced her as her only pupil as she trained the Assassin in the art of war only after she found out that the queen ordered her to train her as a bodyguard to the Prince. Not expressing much confidence in her pupil, Sophie drilled everything about fighting and war into the girl and never relenting in her teaching, Sophie let Assassin go after teaching her everything that she knew at the age of 25. It was then that she was confident that the Assassin could protect the Crown Prince.

A few days before the attack, Sophie took a few days off to offer her prayers to her family. She did not know anything about the attack that was to take place. It was only when a Knight that she trained found her and died in front of her telling her of the castle's plight that Sophie realized her mistake. Taking her armor and her sword and shield, Sophie Iria rushed off to the castle to fulfill her duty to the Kingdom and to seek out survivors to save.

I'll be carrying over a similar bio to the one I've used for here...expect it to be up sometime later today...hopefully.

Could I reserve the Commander? It's still open, but since it's a key role, I understand you may have better candidates in mind. I'm still keen though, if you would. And I'll put up a character bio in a few hours time after I return from school.

EDIT: And suddenly I remember the Commander must be a male character. And with that. Sorry man, I prefer ladies. Could I reserve the Guide instead. I'm making a character for that one now. Which actually gives me a brainwave. I seem to remember having been in this role play ages back. Forgot my role then.

EDIT2: This forum editor is royally f-ing me up. I'll create a new post with the character bio instead. Copy paste from Word.

She carries 2 daggers, a straight-bladed dagger called "Vajera" and a curved dagger known as "Sirocco Kukri,". Virginia received the Vajera during her mercantile travels and was the primary sidearm for their soldiers from a far-eastern Kingdom. The Sirocco Kukri, she stole from an Umbran officer during the early part of the conflict. Both are rare ornate daggers that Virginia uses for combat.

Class:
Thief/Assassin

Rebel Army/Prince Loyalist

Affiliation: Chaotic Good

Water

Aqua Edge (Creates a small stream of water from Virginia's daggers to slice the enemy with water pressure)

She wears green and brown elbow pads and leather gauntlets that cover her elbows and wrists respectively. Virginia wears a green leather pants with 4 pouches, 2 on each side, for items and materials. She also wears brown leather shoes with a bit of fur on the top of the shoe. Virginia also wears brown leather gloves which is tied to the gauntlets by a pair of green and blue ribbons, emblazoned on the top is the Crystairian coat of arms (Shield with a white tiger on a moon)

Personality:
Virginia is a carefree Felidian who believes in looking out for herself and her friends. Virginia does care for her friends, and sometimes would do what she can to help them in any situation. She is a ladylike thief, Virginia is willing to conform to the social norms of any village if it helps to benefit the rebels. Virginia is willing to steal something or from someone if it also benefits her people. She is also very cultured, having knowledge of plays and music.

She is also an assassin. The Venierno family was descended from a long line of thieves and assassin's, and Virginia is no different. She has no qualms of others dieing because of this and this made her in some cases, "a cold assassin."

History:
Virginia was born in the Kingdom of Crystair. As a young girl, she grew up listening to stories of her mother, a sly thief and merchant who managed how to make a profit even through many military conflicts from far away lands.

Growing up with these stories in mind, Virginia became a merchant thief just like her mother. She learned all the ropes of being a thief just like her mom. Using her agility and cleverness to outsmart and outpace her opponents.

Her skills came to practice as she began to trade and out-compete rival merchants both within Crystair and outside of it, bringing much needed money to her home kingdom.

However, over the course of the war with the neighboring Kingdom of Umbra, a battle took place in Virginia's Hometown that led to her mother's death. Fueled by vengeance, she took up her blades and joined the Royal Crystair Army as a scout. Despite her best efforts in fighting off the attackers, she failed to save the King and Queen. Virginia was ordered by the Commander to retreat with the Prince and the Assassin. Despite wanted to make sure he would be safe, Virginia complied, following the prince and assassin out of the Capital and towards the border.

And Demitra is back ~

[Name]: Demitra Marie Roseveldt

[Age]:
21

[Sexual Preference]: Heterosexual

[Race]: Human

[Gender]: Female

[Weapon]: Miasmatic Slayer {Longbow} - A longbow that was made especially for drastic battle. The bow is 6 feet long while the arrows used with it are 3 and a half feet long. During its creation, the metal was infused with toxins extracted from many poisonous creatures known to roam on the planet, giving it's arrows a dreadful effect when penetrated though any kind of carapace. When used correctly, the distance an arrow can cover can range from 300-500 meters, and Demitra can usually shoot 8 arrows under a minute before having to recover stamina (carrying at least 30 arrows with her when in battle).

[Class]
: Necromancer/Archer

[Position/Occupation]: Tyrant Army Spy/Huntress

[Affiliation]: Lawful Evil

[Element]: Spirit

[Starting Ability]
: Emasculation - An energy consuming attack that she can conduct up close by herself or have an invisible spirit do it for her when distance between her target is needed. Magic used normally to get in contact with the dead is instead used on a person's life, gradually draining it away from them and into her own stream. She can execute this move slowly enough so her target won't notice until the longrun (say if she's talking with someone and her hand is on their shoulder, for example.), or she can take a good amount of energy within a few seconds time - possibly leaving her target in bad condition. The same applies to how the spirit of choice can initiate this move, as the energy that is taken is transferred from the victim, to the spirit extracting it, to the bond that it is in connection with Demitra. So far, this ability hasn't been used to the point of killing anyone, but she strives to practice so that she does have the capability of doing so.

demitraprofileinfo.png

[Physical Description]:
Demitra stands at a height of 5"9, being a little bit taller than most women her age, and having a slim and curvaceous figure - weighing 128 lbs. Her hair is dark red and is grown out very long, reaching her waist line, and there are several curls and waves put into it. Her eyes are sharp dark forest green color with a barely noticeable pale yellow tint around the pupils. Her skin was originally a very light brown shade, but had just became a lighter tan color as to how little time she spent outside in the sun for the past several years.

Her main attire consists of a black moderately tight back-laced corset with the edges of the front slightly frilled out. Her pants are also black and have a dark lace ribbon pattern along the outer calf area, and for shoes she wears 5 inch heel boots that reach up to her knees - but the length is hidden by her pants. Covering the upper part of her left arm is a series of golden armbands, four in counting and each one having a different form, size, and origin that they were made; they have the slight capability of reflecting off magic attacks, but it’s a rare concurrence and acts rather as arm braces that increase magic resistance. She wears a black ribbon around her neck as a choker, small gold hoops as earrings, and an emerald gem stoned ring on her thumb. This is an especially good outfit to wear during the dark as it can act as a camouflage so she won't be seen by whoever she is pursuing.

[Personality]: Demitra has had a past reputation of being very snobbish and easily offended as a teenager. Presently, she is considered a sadist - having a very sarcastic attitude towards people she isn't content with and having an unusual thirst of delivering pain in any form to those who push the wrong side of her. Close friends of hers and other people have often said that her personality is much different than that of the rest of her family, and have questioned her as to why she acts the way she does; her usual response is silence or something unrelated seeing as it was none of their business. How she thought of people and what she thought about them became more obvious as the years passed on.

With people she does enjoy talking to, she show's a good amount of respect to. However, she is definitely considered a free thinker and won't be afraid of saying whatever she feels about a person, whether they're her close friend or not, whether she upsets them or not. She believes that people won't know your true thoughts about someone or something if you just beat around the bush, which is why it is also rare for her to tell a lie. She can show an apathetic attitude towards those that she works with if she has no problem with them, but it doesn't guarantee that she will like them. With the past events that have occurred in her life, she had become a misanthrope - seeming to see the negatives about human beings more than the positives, and that's part of the reason she acts uncontent with most people.

[History] -

Being born in the city of Sonria as the twin of her sister Estrella who hadn't specialized in magic until she was in her mid-teens, she considered herself to be the reject of the family with all of the attention that Estrella had gotten from the rumors that were spreading all around the region, and Demitra wasn’t very content with that. She had still loved Estrella as her sister, but they had very often had disagreements with each other, whether if it was about roles in the family or who needed the most attention in the home – so Demitra was often seen as spoiled. In school, she had just as much difficulty with dealing with students that often said that she was unlucky to have a sister that was ‘cursed’ and other times accused her of having the same ailment (even though she didn’t), and every so often physical altercation would take place. Her father, Valerius, has often warned her that her control of the magics she specialized in can easily alter her personality, and that she should try and limit her use of it; as he could already see jealousy developing within her. She thought it was unusual that she was the favorite niece to her uncle Ora, but that was only because she didn’t know of his real intentions. Ora, however, had plans to keep Demitra safe from what event he had planned, and saw to it that she would get just as much care as Estrella did. When the city's monastery was being burned down, Demitra had nearly died from how much she had gotten hit by magic from the opposing forces that brought the turmoil to the central park, but Ora had found her before the flames could and teleported her and himself out of the predicament, without a hint given on where they could be presently.

When Demitra had woken up, Ora had taken a custody of her so that she would officially no longer be a part of the Briller family, but of his own as a Roseveldt after he had told her that there were no surviving members of the family anyway (leaving out the part that he was the one that ended their lives). One of the tasks that she was given by him was to join the Tyrant forces of Umbra to help him with his tasks of "ridding the planet of those that don't deserve to live", saying that he can't do his task on his own at this point. For three years, he had trained her, both physically and in magic, so that she would be fit to become part of the forces of Umbra. He had taught her the ways of necromancy since she was specialized in magics in the subjects of death, darkness, and the like. By the time she turned 21, she had made contact or use of the spirits of many past friends and relatives of the Briller family, including her mother. One person that she had a hard time making contact though was Estrella, and she had come to the conclusion that she wasn't yet dead - but she didn't tell Ora this. Instead, she had went on with the task that she was given by him in hopes of finding her AWOL twin during the journey - wanting her to die by her sister's hands, and she would not hesitate to eliminate anyone that prevented her from completing her goal. If she couldn't find her within the surroundings of Umbra, she would patiently wait until her business was done there to continue her search; for she was one that believed that she had all the time in the world to complete her ambitions. In the meantime, she would reside in Umbra as a Tyrant Loyalist, with another task that would wreck havoc in Crystair.

Name: Alyss Lissesul

Age: 19

Race: Elf

Gender: Female

Sexual Preference: Asexual (Though, she would prefer women)

Position/title/occupation: Cook/Guard

Allegiance: Lawful Good

Weapon: Panzer and Dragoon – Small, lightweight, and fast, these duel katana’s. They are identical.
IMG_0162.jpg

Class: Spellsword

Element: Lightning

Starting Ability: Lightning Shot – Through her fingers, she can shoot lightning from her fingertips at a target. As she uses katana’s, she can use them to conduct her lightning through for a straighter aim. It can wound an enemy severely, but isn’t strong enough to kill as of yet.

Physical Description:
34h8010.jpg

Alyss is rather small, standing in at 5,4. Her hair is long and silver, like most Elves. She often ties her hair back in a large pony tail to keep it out of her face when cooking or fighting. Her eyes are rather dark brown, and unremarkable when in comparison to the rest of her race. She wears a long robe that is very lose at the bottom to promote leg movement in combat. Up top, it’s loose enough to permit comfort. The sleeves are rather long, and very loose so that her arm movements and direction that they’re facing can remain hidden from an enemy, catching them off guard most of the time.

Personality: Alyss is very calm, and very nice natured. She treats others with respect, even if they may disrespect her. She enjoys cooking very much, and no matter what happens, cooking will calm her down no matter what. She’s typically clear-headed and unbiased towards anything. She’s somewhat shy, she tends to only speak when she needs to, or is spoken to. Her voice is gentle, matching her appearance. In combat, she fights with honor and dignity, and would never go for a cowardly approach. There are those, however, that she gets a bad vibe from and she will instantly not like. However, these are far and few in-between, meaning it’s very rare.

Most people that meet her tend to like her as she is never rude and is always as friendly as she can be. When placed in a situation she is uncomfortable with, she tends to lock up as she tries to wrap her mind around it. If ever placed in a situation where she cannot win, she will fight until she either cannot fight anymore, or to the point where it just becomes futile. If ever captured, it would take much pressure to get her to betray her kingdom.

Alyss is greatly afraid of the dark. (to be explained in history)

History: Alyss’ hatred of the Tyrants comes from an early age. When she was young, Tyrant soldiers broke into her home and killed her Mother. Her Father had abandoned the family years back, rendering her alone, and unable to do anything as they killed her Mother. After they were done, they were going to take her in as a slave, but were unable to do so as ordered by their commanding officer. Instead, they made her sit in a dark basement where she stayed for five days. She almost died due to having nothing to eat, and little to drink. However, another young elven man by the name of Ciridan Lissesul took her in and raised her as his own.

He would train her in sword combat, and in the art of using lightning. When she wasn’t learning how to fight, she was teaching herself how to cook. She rather enjoyed it, and to this day she still cooks something every day.

Ciridan grew eventually sick and slowly died. With nowhere else to go, she went to Crystair, and applied for a job as cook. Eventually, she got in, and cooked often. After a few guards saw her practicing with her katana’s in the courtyard, she was also accepted as a castle guardswoman, a title she holds dear.

Jesse. All hells to the yes. <3 ACCEPTED

Bathoin - if you could add a little more to his personality, I'll review again. Also, he needs a title for me to include him in the prophecies, so if you're fine with the Ghost Walker, that is what we'll work with. PENDING

Bathoin 2 - Sophie. the ArmsMaster is a story role meaning I'm going to need more information on her personality, a written physical description and a little more about her armor and weapon. Being an Armsmaster, she is a weapon master and wouldn't stick to just one weapon style. If someone else proves to be a better candidate, I may accept them as Armsmaster and make Sophia that character's Apprentice. We'll see on that on though. PENDING

Gavin - Sometimes you make me want to smack you. The Wizard doesn't compare to the High Priestess in terms of importance to the Dark Army. You've made him out to know things only the General, tyrant and Priestess would know. Examples being that these three alone were responsible for the plans to take over Crystair. Also, where does it mention a Gala? The deaths of the previous king and queen have JUST taken place. They're literally going cold at the Tyrants feet at the start of the RP. If you can make him not know things he shouldn't and not sound like he's going to be on par with the Priestess in terms of power, I'll take another look. PENDING

Gavin 2
- Lt of the Royal Escort? The Royal Guard already has a Commander. There is no Royal Escort... I don't know where you got that from. He can be a captain under the Commander of the Royal Guard. Also, the breastplate, in that case, would bear the Crystarian coat of arms (A white tiger before a full moon). PENDING

Valkyrur - Let me know when you're done! I look forward to reading :3

Kevin - Glad to see her back. You missed out the Armor section of Bio but seeing as you included her clothing under her description, I can let that slide. If you could, though, flesh out that portion a little? I'll accept once that's done <3 PENDING

Pandora - My little spy is back! the High Priestess does so long to see her little friend again. >:3 ACCEPTED

Ringo - I'm going to take her as the Guard. <3 ACCEPTED

I'll have my own characters up soon, I hope. Time off work and all that. :3

Vikki, if we are going to go by medieval time line, the lieutenant is basically just an officer under the captain (who should be the guy in total control of the Royal guards, aka commander). So there should actually only be ONE captain/commander, but can have a few lieutenants that help lead the platoons. If we are going by that sort of ranking, i may promote my character to a lieutenant. If not, just Royal guards then.

in short, Captain/Commander -> Lieutenant -> Sergeant -> Corporal -> Private. Or should be that loosely

But yea... Royal guards, not escort. I may think he was referring to some special unit that ACTUALLY escorted the royals everywhere maybe?

Love you too Vikki. Read Jesse's bio again...there's apparently a gala (totally took a cue from a bio I knew would be accepted). I never meant for him to be that important. Just leader of a small cult of subversives that have been....(looks over what all he's engaged in)...yeah.... I think this is gonna make liek the ninth person I'd be playing accross the board. Just gonna say forget about that character and I'll use Valur so I'm not stretchign myself too thin.

As for the second, I had the idea that you had the palace guard in and of itself but also a detachment that when the royals left the confines of the palace, they would be the escort. Essentially 'Palace Guards Plus' they would have skills in horsemanship, and combat from such as both unit and soldier in addition to the normal skillset of a palace guard. Ideally they would be actual members of the Palace Guard, just with more responsibility and skill.

Here. Done! Now to wait with as much patience as I can muster.

Lawful Evil

[Element]

Spirit

[Starting Ability]

Spirit Mediation
As the saying goes, a dead man tells no lies. Ellie, through experience with her element, has the ability to converse with the Spirits in the Otherworld. Although this is not as effective as giving form to the Spirits, the advice of one who is not only wise, but also speaks only the truth is not to be underestimated. Given wise counsel, even a fool could best anyone, and Ellie is hardly a fool.

Spirit Mediation is simply Ellie opening up a communication channel to the Otherworld and then posing her question through it. Only spirits of the deceased may answer, and until they do, the channel remains open. Alternatively, Ellie may close the channel prematurely should the circumstances require it. However, the longer the channel remains open, the more taxing it is on Ellie's mind. In other words, general questions that many of the deceased would know would evoke an answer fairly quickly. For instance, asking for directions to a certain well-visited city. On the other hand, asking highly specific questions that only a few or only one person would know may take a long time, sometimes up to an hour (the limit Ellie can sustain the channel). For instance, speaking of some phrase shared between a couple in one of their intimate moments.

When in use, a dim aura engulfs Ellie, granting her a ghostly appearance. She retains her consciousness of reality and is able to behave normally even as the channel remains open. Only her mental clarity dulls as time progresses with the channel open and by her limit of an hour, she will be suffering throbbing headaches so terrible she has to force the channel close or lose consciousness.

[Weapon]

Two katanas dual wielded

1. Shadow Dragon
Named for it's black colored hilt and dragon (an oriental variation) carving at the bottom of it.
2. Flaming Phoenix
Named after it's flaming red hild and the ornate phoenix that decorates the hilt. (Not pictured)

These katanas were specially crafted by a master smith who intended to offer it to a nobleman in exchange for a tidy sum. As such, no quality materials were spared from the creation of these masterpieces. The result was a smith's magnum opus, and a source of interest for a certain rogue.

[Armor]

In non-combat situations, Ellie wears an exquisite looking yukata (stolen, of course) which hides her combat wear. This article of clothing provides neither protection against physical attacks nor magical attacks. What it does protect against, perhaps, are the eyes of those who know she is far out of their league. The obi sash that wraps around her waist also holds her sheathed katanas. Underneath the yukata is what could protect her, somewhat, against physical attacks.

Donning a flak jacket over a dark, turtle-neck tank top and black tights, this can only be considered light armor at best. The jacket does a decent job at defending against blunt weapons, but will not protect against sharp weapons like a sword or spear. On the plus side, it offers high mobility, which is much needed considering Ellie's dual wielding fighting style.

[Personality]

Ellie is hardly the type that you would want to associate with. She is the kind of person who can smile and give you ideas, then shatter all those beliefs you developed about her without a shred of conscience. She is a two-face, and a dangerous one. She shows no remorse over deeds that would ordinarily be considered 'evil'. So long it benefits her, it isn't evil. Such is her way, though this she makes sure that no one would notice. At least, until her quarry unmasks her innocent facade.

And when they do, they discover the real Ellie. Cruel, dark and self-serving. But also cunning, level-headed and resourceful. No doubt an ally worth having at your side when up against the odds, but definitely not one you'll want to have for long. After all, who wouldn't know by then how likely she is to help you then stab you in the back? By then, not even her sweet sounding voice can convince you she is ever the same damsel that she was in the beginning.

[Physical Description]

Ellie

Ellie measures 5"8' in height and weighs 124lbs. Her hair is a deep black and reaches down to her waist. It is combed straight and with such attention that no straying strands is visible to the naked eye. Her features, like with her hair, is just as well attended to. Ellie's brows are well-defined and complements her eyes which are of the same color as her hair.

[Backstory]

Being born in an unnamed village so stricken with poverty has it's benefits. With that little to eat, and so many people to fight with for food, one had to be smart. And so it was with Ellie, who picked pockets as soon as she could. Her initial attempts met with failures but practice made perfect. She was only 8 then, and already abandoned by her parents who were pickpockets themselves attempting to escape the clutches of the law. She heard that they were later executed, but there was no time to worry about them. More pockets awaited her picking, and the coins begged to be used. She had no reason to resist the allure.

A turning point came when she became a teenager at 12. With her developing features, she caught the eye of a lustful nobleman who dreamed of nurturing her into a desirable mistress. Likewise, on knowing who this nobleman was, his gold caught the eye of Ellie who promptly agreed to follow his whims. He brought her into a second mansion that he had to keep his secrets. Thus came 2 years of noble upbringing as she was taught to utilize her elemental affinity to master a specific element, on top of reading and dancing. She appeared to be content with these, when in fact she had only been planning the whole time. Behind the backs of the nobleman and the servants assigned to keep an eye on her, she had tempted a swordsman into teaching her to fight with the blades.

By the age of 16, she was at what the nobleman deemed the peak of her beauty. He decided it was time and sought her, but she was nowhere to be found. Surprised by her sudden disappearance and the suspicious absence of the entire household of servants, he searched high and low in his mansion for the girl, only to notice a message on his room floor. Using gold coins, Ellie had made out the world 'fool' as well as an arrow pointing into an opened hidden compartment. It was then, to his horror, that the nobleman knew that he had been tricked. By then, no amount of screaming and ranting at the servants found tied up within could make up for the loss he had suffered. To pursue this incident any further would jeopardize his reputation as a man of integrity and also his fidelity.

Ellie managed to escape unscathed and while passing through a town, was stopped by a black smith. He had been preparing a set of katanas for the nobleman and he recognized Ellie from the ornate yukata that she wore. Thinking her to be a personal servant in his household, he suggested that she passed the message to the nobleman about his ready blades. Of course, Ellie wasted no time convincing the blacksmith that she was on an errand to retrieve the blade and so the blade was hers. She then purchased a small hut outside of town and has since made her residence in the place.

Now that I look at everyone's bio, we have a lot of Spirit magic users. It'll make one wind magic using character very happy if a person were to make one. XD

To be honest Gav, that just makes the Royal Guards redundant. If they were strictly just guarding the castle, theyd be castle guards. And as far as i know, realisitcally, all Royal Guards have always guarded the Royals on rotation, wherever they may be. They may have a handpicked preferred guards, but i dont think they'd every purposefully create a unit for it.
