What is your most useful color magic?

Mine is probably White Magic. I use it quite a lot and it is the only type of magic which I consider necessary in order to beat very strong bosses.
IMO, other color magics can be replaced with strength .

Blue magic, because it essentialy incorporates all of them quite adequately. Need some strong water based attack? Aqualung....Need some healing? White Wind....Need protection? Mighty Guard....

Ofcourse it differs from game to game and it's probably best to stick with specialist magic groups on the most part but Blue magic seems to have many situations coverd.

what is green magic? Is that like summons? or is that geomancer/terrain magic?

Definitely White Magic, considering that I NEVER use other magics other than white.
I strongly prefer melee over black magic and blue is just plain awkward to use (for me anyways).

While White Magic is invaluable, I'm also very partial to Black Magic, I always find it incredibly useful, especially if you're fighting an enemy that's resistant to physical attacks.

I'd say that Black Magic is the most useful for attacking, and White Magic is the most useful for healing and support. I can't choose between them though :gonk:

It has magics like: Blind, Sleep, Stone and such. Magics that inflict harmful conditions.
In most FFs, the Black Mage has those abilities. But there are some FFs which have Green Magic like FFTA2 and FFXII as far as I remember.

I say White magic. I need another way of healing besides relying on items all the time. ^_^
Although black magic is unbelievably helpful, I like to beat enemies into a pulp with just strength. :P even if they're resistant to physical attacks... xDDD

I prefer blue magic tbh, and to add on to what Mooney said, blue magic (at least in FF9) is able to pierce through reflect, soif your party has reflect active and you need full party healing you can use white wind without worrying about it refecting onto your enemy. And it can deal out stat effects, healing, buffs, attacks, percent attacks, death, level effect spells etc.

I'm going to say white magic for the fact it's saved my arse God knows how many times, especially cure. It's just generally useful for when you run out of potions, though I really only use it outside of battle. :wacky: In battle I normally use black magic >.>

black magic cause you not every monster can be beaten with melee damage ej.flans white magic is good too but theres potions and phoenixe downs at the shops

Definetly white magic because I try not to grind much so my characters are usually pretty weak and need constant help. Battles are alot more rewarding this way IMO.

Black magic all the way for some monster/enemies have physical damage resistances so the only way to kill them simply is a good ol' black magic spell...

I use white magic the most,

its allot better than buying remedy's and potions

but blue magic is pretty useful to me also, because it can do a larger variety of things

I'd normally say Black Magic and White Magic in tandem but there's no option for 'Both' so I'll have to just go with the one I use more frequently: Black. What can I say, I like pushing my FF teams to the limit, I rely more on high-powered Black Magic spells and the Attack button to lower an enemy's HP quickly. 'Sides I always make sure I have plenty of Ethers and Elixirs on hand and if we're talking about the games from I-VI then I make sure to carry tons of Tents and Houses just in case I run out of those. I'm always prepared for MP/HP loss. Always.

Yeah . . .the White Magic is secondary since I rarely need to use Cura or Curaga, Hi-Potions take care of that nicely or like, in FFXII, I just dash to the nearest Teleport Crystal or Save Crystal or I simply toss a Hi-Potion or an X-Potion. Yup.

White Magic, because physical fighters universally are more useful at dealing damage in the Final Fantasy series than any form of mages. However, ALL teams need a healer and support mage.

I went with black, simply because it's not likely that you'll thrive without it. White is definitely a close second, but potions and pheonix downs suffice if you're willing to go down that rough path.

Id have to say white magic just b/c it does help in all those tight spaces, also i pick white definatly over green b/c in alot of games green magic was pretty much white magic wasnt it lol? Oh well it dont matter but id have to say for fun Blue magic was my favorite magic for fun just to send monsters abilities right back at them lol. But what i want to know is wheres TIME MAGIC??? Time is a color too ya'know lol jk :x3: But know that i thinkm about it black magic is a very close second to white i mean some monster were really resistant to physical stuff and black magic was their to just blow the enemy up and also my favorie FF character is vivi lol oops i guess i voted to soon :rage:

My top two would be Black and White magic as well.

Don't get my wrong they're both useful but, I guess I use Black more often then white. Just as others have said, potions/etc can heal you ya know? Black magic can really do some damage and it's not like you can't "buy" a fire and use it in the items when you could simply buy a potion to heal.

Both black and white magic are valuable resources for any FF party, and like most people, I really don't exactly know which is the more useful one out of the two. White magic of course, is crucial especially if you face an opponent who loves dishing out simultaneous damage, large damage and/or annoying status ailments. Yes, potions and hi-potions can do the job well, but I usually tend to find spells like Cure and Cura more efficient in the heat of battle.

Black magic as it has been said before, can be way more useful than physical attacks particularly if you're up against a flan or an enemy mainly resistant to a sword slash or something. Black magic can be very effective in situations where elemental resistances and weaknesses are involved as well.

Overall, I may go for white magic, purely because it's absolutely necessary. Black mage is good. It can be effective. It can make battles extremely shorter and easier. But is it as crucial? Can you go through a game without using them as opposed to white magic? I believe so.
