in anime,manga video games/and games?

This bugged me and I'm just curios if you are a fellow anime fan and a fellow manga fan and a fellow gamer like myself since I'm a 24 year old male anime fan and manga fan/or a huge anime fan and manga fan and I'm starting to realize I'm a gamer as well please me help to figure it out thanks and don't worry i didn't say all i am speaking in general when i say some anime fans if not most of them not all of them.

so fellow fans if you can help me to figure it out thanks and if not i fully understand I ask because i admit some of my favorite anime characters and game characters and some of my all time favorite anime characters and some of my all time game characters is female and she is strong, badass and she is attractive when she does it and she is a good person and she have a awesome personality in my opinion.

But they hate that what's up with that do they rather have hot anime girls/anime women and hot girls and women in video games to be weak and helpless and i do have some or a few favorite anime characters and game characters and yes all time favorite characters of anime/manga,video games/and games too may or may not seem weak or helpless i don't mind that.

Sorry for the rant question sometimes this bugged me i mean they hate on strong females and either like/love strong males and hate strong female ones and love weak helpless female characters in anime/manga and games or refuse to watch the anime or refuse to play the game/or buy the anime, manga or the game and i love them both i don't judge the gender and for males not for the attraction.

So if you don't mind please tell me why they hate them and no i don't mean muscular type of females but however I'm OK with it if she is my favorite character in anime/manga or games thanks again everyone :).

And be honest with your answers if you don't know you are welcome to tell me your best guess and i was curios and it bugged me i got to thinking

The fact that this is in the Spam Coliseum made me laugh.

But I honestly don't know what you mean exactly. I don't really know of any anime fans who hate female characters. Maybe I'm blind to them, but I've never met anyone like that.

i understand and some female characters are strong, badass powerful types with awesome personality and others i don't know how to explain but if you want examples don't hesitate to ask and and I'll see what i can do and some people are like this which is pretty sad.

And me and you are lucky not to meet anyone like that and honestly i hope we never meet someone like that and if this question is stupid I'm sorry :).

I'm a big anime fan, and I like strong female characters, for example Sakura, but my favorite Anime character is very much soo a weakling (Molly Baker from Sailor Moon) :lew:

I'm not saying the question is stupid. I just don't really know what you mean. Maybe other people can relate to what you're talking about, but I generally don't see anime fans complaining about strong female characters.

i know you didn't and may i say i love your pictures you choose of paine from ffx-2 and lightning from ff13 and yes they are 2 of my favorite characters/2 of my all time favorite characters :)

The graphics in my signature weren't made by me, I got runner up for the X-2 quiz and FFXIII quiz.

I think because a lot of "strong female characters" aren't portrayed very well, or not perceived very well (or both), and just come off as unlikeable/crude/bitchy. I find there's a big difference between being a strong female character and simply being like I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR.

It's not that I Don't like strong female characters, it's just that they annoy me. 90% of the 'strong' female characters STILL act helpless in times of danger. They also complain quite often.

For example, take Sakura from naruto. Early on in the series, it's quite apparent that she's supposed to be a leading female character in the series, yet she ALWAYS acted helpless and ALWAYS complained about it. Granted in Shippuuden she finally did something about it.

Basically, they're more a nuisance than anything else because in times of danger / peril, they still act helpless. The only series that I've seen thus far where the 'strong' female characters don't is High School of the Dead.

This is all just my opinion and I don't mean to upset anyone in any way because of it, so if I did I greatly apologize.

Offhand, I can only think of two "strong" female protagonists I like, and that'd be Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell and Olivier Mira Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The former because she does something no other strong female protagonist does - undergoes significant character development - and the latter because awesomeness has been passed down the Armstrong family line for generations. Oh, and she throws her overly-muscled, sparkling brother through several walls.

A large majority of these kinds of protagonists aren't very well-written; they never progress beyond their standard-issue tough act. They're normally just there for the sake of defying the common stereotype of having anime women as helpless princesses that need a man to step in and save them, or fanservice characters...and plenty of them get fanservice anyway. I don't think people hate them, they just don't stick out in the memory when compared to other characters that blatantly steal the spotlight.

Personally, I prefer Cutie characters. They make me laugh, they're absolutely adorable, as the name suggests...and they frequently get broken, killed off, or undergo severe character development to turn them into Alpha Bitches. There isn't much you can do with a strong female protagonist, other than kill them off or turn them into a bitch...like Asuka, although she apparently started off as a Cutie anyway, so she went through a three-fold transformation...

I don't really know any reason to hate strong, female characters except for maybe the below reason.

Not all of these characters are like this, though. Here's a list of some of my favorite strong, female characters. I find all these characters strong, but maybe not all in the same way. How likable these characters are is up to the individual.
