Anime Why some anime fans hate strong female characters

I don't why but I don't hate them all. I despise most anime that has a female as lead protagonist, why do I hate them? I guess because usually when a female is lead protagonist the world is devoid of "men" for some reason and the only point of the anime would be "fanservice", now do I hate strong female characters? Sometimes yes, sometimes no depends on the reason why they made her strong - for the sake of fighting and ripping off her clothes? I guess I would despise it then.

I don't really know any reason to hate strong, female characters except for maybe the below reason.



Not all of these characters are like this, though. Here's a list of some of my favorite strong, female characters. I find all these characters strong, but maybe not all in the same way. How likable these characters are is up to the individual.

Lina Inverse - Slayers series

Balsa - Seirei no Moribito

Motoko Kusanagi - Ghost in the Shell

Shiki Ryougi - Kara no Kyoukai

Revy -Black Lagoon

Nausicaa - Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind

Yes, that's why I said "a lot of". Not all of them are like that, and your mileage may vary anyway. I, for example, don't like characters like these.

I quite enjoy characters like Nagisa Furukawa (who wasn't strong at first but developed to be), or Yuna from FFX.

I think a lot of "strong" female characters end up being faux action girls. Like we are told that they have fighting abilities/ are strong fighters, but then they will need to be rescued or will not be able to win their own battles, unless its against the female villain That and they tend to not get as much development as their male counter parts. There are of course exceptions. I don't know anyone who didn't like Lina Inverse. And just about everyone I know likes Utena, the outer senshi from Sailor Moon, the women in 12 Kingdoms, and Miyazaki's characters.
