What was the last DVD you bought?

Lots of Leonardo DiCaprio movies, most of which I've now seen :lew: and a couple of others. :)

What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Shutter Island, Julie and Julia and Jane Eyre (which I've already sold... It wasn't as good as I had hoped. :()

Bought these lovelies today, really wanted Battle Royale on Blu Ray, needless to say they didn't stock it :/ and they had NO copies on DVD or Blu Ray of Advent Children :(

JB HiFi were having a 3 for $20 sale on for certain DVDs so I scooped up a few!

I got X-men 1, 2 and 3
Hot shots which is extremely hilarious
Taken
Me, Myself and Irene

I am very excited to go home and watch them hahaha

I went into HMV the other day to pick up one DVD in particular if they had it, but they didn't. Then I accidentally spent 80 euro because they have such good deals there. I bought the following;

District 9 I have seen this plenty of times before but is an extremely good film. It's about an alien ship that came to Earth and stopped just above Johannesburg. Eventually humans cut into it and discovered a lot of sick and dying aliens. They turned out to be refugees and end up forming a camp/slum outside Johannesburg and stuff. It is a very interesting take on aliens coming to Earth.

Marx Brothers Collection I have heard a lot about the Marx brothers from my dad and on the internet, so I decided to pick up a boxset of them for less than a fiver.

Six Feet Under Season 1 I have heard from a few people that I would like this show and I saw the first season for only fifteen euro, so I decided why not. Michael C. Hall and Rainn Wilson are in it and I quite like them

The Thing The new one was released and a few pals told me to watch it, but to get the original instead. It is a horror film which I do not generally like, but apparently it is a classic and it was like 1.99.

Four Lions A film by Chris Moris who did Brasseye and The Day Today, two of the best satires ever made. It is about four suicide bombers in London and is incredibly funny.

Moon Once again, a lot of people told me to watch it. It is about a guy a few years in the future who is living on a moon base. He is the only inhabitant of the base and is slowly going a bit insane. Then things start to happen that indicate he might not be so insane after all.

How I Met Your Mother seasons 1 to 4 for £26 in total! (not per season!) I started watching this series recently, but we only have digital TV and I'm often busy when it's on. I hate missing episodes and trying to keep up with series which appear at awkward times. :gasp: £26 for 4 seasons wasn't too bad at all! :ryan:

I also bought Clannad part 1 (episodes 1 - 12) on DVD. This is my favourite anime series and I've waited about 2 years for it to come to DVD in the UK! I couldn't resist. I'm rewatching it with the English dub (I watched it with subs the first time) and it's not too bad. :) I HATE Sunohara's voice, but Tomoyo's VA is incredible and the VAs for Nagisa, Tomoya, Kyou, Ryou and Kotomi aren't too bad. Fuuko's VA is suited to her character... :lew:

Yesterday I bought:

Horrible Bosses and Blood Diamond on Bluray as there was a 2 for $20 sale and those were the only two I really loved and wanted.

I then bought Carlito's Way and City of God from ebay. Carlito's way was really great and I'm happy to own it, City of God was recommended to me but I am a bit unsure of it :ahmed: I guess I'll have to watch it to find out if it's any good when it arrives.

I was planning on buying Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco and Casino but :rage: the shop didn't have any of them in stock even though it said so on the website! Mother fuckers.

The last movie I bought was Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on bluray. I've always loved the movie series ever since I was really young. I also really enjoy Johnny Depp's role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-Ray to watch them in all their entertaining glory :) Love these movies :D

LOTR trilogy on blu ray

star wars original trligoy on blu ray

alien anthology collection on blu ray

Rob roy - classic film with liam neeson and tim roth about a real scottish outlaw

Goodfellas on blu ray. Already own it but seen it for a fiver on blu ray. Had to buy

spirited away - the best animated film ever

oldboy - korean revenge film. Still to watch.

Se7en. Crime thriller with brad pitt and morgan freeman. Excellent film i might add.

I think thats it for recent :hmmm:

And @Toni the cidade de deus (city of god) is one of the greatest films ever made. Dont just take my word for it. See the online reviews.

Marigold Hotel, which I had hoped to see in the cinema. Sadly, I missed it. :sad3: Still, buying the DVD for £10 costs less than 4 people visiting the cinema; my parents and Chris would quite like to see it too.

Angel Beats the anime series should arrive tomorrow too! :cheer: I pre-ordered it a month and a half ago when I bought Clannad. It's made by the same company as Clannad, so here's hoping it's good! =)

i can't bring myself to buy a single dvd for £10, no matter how badly i want to see it.

i bought a few yesterday:
rise of the planet of the apes, which i saw in the cinema and thought was absolutely brilliant. i wanted it on blu-ray, but it was on 2 for £10 in hmv on dvd, or it was £15 alone on blu-ray. sometimes i don't know how hmv can justify their prices.

the ides of march. i never got to see it when it was released, but it has a fantastic cast, and i read some really good reviews for it.

breaking bad series 1. i watched the first few episodes when it was first on a few years ago, then it sort of fell off my radar but i've always wanted to see the rest of it.

I bought Final Destination 5 the other day, which was a huge improvement from FD4 (which I found by far the worst of the series). I saw FD5 in the cinema and it was an amazing experience...the 3D helped :)
The whole wrap up of the entire series of films at the end is a nice touch too (without giving anything away). Makes you wonder if there will be another one :/

Whilst on my tea break at work i nipped onto amazon and picked up a few things.

I got Die hard 1-4 on blu ray for £5. Thats a ridiculous price to pay. Im not sure if the guy listed it up wrong or what but i snapped it up even though i own them all on regular dvd.

Black hawk down. Ive never seen this but had it recomended a few times. Picked that up for 0.01p and 1.26 postage. It has ewan magregor!

star wars episode 2 for the same price as black hawk down. I used to own this film at some point..and tbh i dont think its even that great. Im not a big fan of the new trilogy of films especially episode 1 >_> but i wanna own the complete collection (again) and at that price who cares. Episode 3 though is worth a watch.

Phone booth. Ive seen it a couple of times and it was only a penny like the previous titles. I dont think its great but even though he has only seconds of screentime it stars kiefer sutherland so i wanted it.

The new potc film. Ive heard mixed reviews on it. However its potc and i must see it.

I bought the Balls of Steel Complete Boxset today.
The UK Version of course because the Australian one literally sucked big hairy balls!

There are three seasons total and I've seen each season twice and am more than happy to watch them each at least another 100 times.
So I bought it /smug

Saving private ryan

District 9
Steamboy
Full Metal Jacket
The prestige
Animal factory
Carlitos way bluray
and 2 jimmy eat world DVDs. Live tracks and some behind the scenes footage etc.

Mostly all films ive seen but wanted to add to the collection. I picked up Animal factory for 75p in a new shop called entertainment exchange. Which is the best shop to open since sunbway. First heard of it on IMDB. Was a similar like to a film i was reading about. Supposedly a good flick too. Heard good things also about the prestige.

The last DVD I bought was The Departed, for my boyfriend. Great film. The last DVD I bought for myself was Albert Nobbs with Glen Close. I bought it about a week ago and I still haven't watched it lol

Too lazy.

The last movie I bought was The Avengers with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, etc.
I love it, its an awesome movie
