I myself have an 80gig.

I wanted a 40gig because I heard it can play PS2 games. But they got discontinued in Australia. :grumpy:
I hardly ever use any of the 80gig I got on there because I don't know how to put anything on there. -__-

I have the 60gig model, I got it on the day it came out here.

When I first got it, there were a few PS2 games which weren't compatible, but they started working after a few updates. Now I can play all of the PS1 and PS2 games in my collection, so I'm pretty happy with my PS3.

I have two, I have the 60gig and the 40gig. In response to the OP, the 40 gig can NOT play PS2 games. The 60 gig can though.

I think of all the ones they released the 60 was by far the best. They shouldn't have discontinued it.

I have a 40 gig. Pretty good. Right size I think at least for me, I don't have any idea why I'd need more than that all I do is play games. As far as I've been told all can play PS2 games except the 40 but I have my PS2 still anyway so doesn't matter at all.(plus PS2 only like 80 bucks at gamestop anyway)

I was going to get the 40Gb one for christmas, my parents bought it but then i found out (via this site ^^) that only 80Gb have backwards compatibility which wouldn't go good for me, considering my PS2 is broken to bits and i have abunch of good games for ps and ps2. So they went back and picked me up a 80GB instead.

60GB ftw! :gmonster:
I got mine a month after they were released because it was exactly a month til my birthday :D 60GB is rather grand though, never had a problem with it :D

60gb it was the cheapest one at the time in the shop so thats why i chose it, ive got no problems playin ps2 games either which is good.

Well, when I get it, an 80gb. Still got £150 to pay before I can bring it home, seeing as there was no credit agreement when I put the deposit down, I just have to go in every week and pay something off.

But yeah, it's an 80GB.

I've got the 80gb. Only problem I've had with it so far is playing Final Fantasy VII. My console had trouble reading the first disc in certain places, do to a compatibility issue I guess, but it seems to be playing disc 2 fine. All of my other PS1 and PS2 games run smoothly as well.

I have an 80 gig Gun-Metal Gray, the one that came with MGS4.

It does have the PSX/PS2 backwards compatability but I find that the graphics take quite a hit for the older games when I play them on the PS3. For that, I stick to my good ol' PS2 when it comes to playing them. I like to get the full graphic feel of the game, even though I'm not much of a graphic person :P

Though, I think my PS2 is starting to wear. I have the slim, and the little slot where you stick in the AC adaptor is starting to loosen, so it sometimes shuts off without warning. Does anyone know if this is fixable, or should I just invest in a new PS2?

I got the 60GB model not too long after it first came out, however we put another hard drive into it so now it's 120GB :P
It's me who's going to fill most of that up >_>

I have a 40GB one, but that's fine with me. I don't need backwards compatibility since my PS2 works just fine, and if it ever breaks, my brother has one, so I'm sorted.

I love my 40GB one, it works perfectly and it plays all the PS1 games I might feel like playing, so it does what I need it to do ^^

I've got the slimline 250GB PS3.

Doubt I will ever use all of that space, but the package deal it was with was worth it so I bought it.

I got the PS3, two games and a HDMI cable for $599, whereas the 120GB was $499 on it's own. =/

And the two games on their own were $100 each. So pretty good buy.

120 gig

How can I expand on that....?

Oh yeah, Ive seen ipods with more memory, wtf is that all about? i wont EVER use all that memory, I imagine Id of been alright with a 40gig one, but I wanted a slim because the others are massive....

I have a slim 120GB PS3 however I may have to expand to a 250GB HD. The lack of BC is not a big deal for me as I still have my PS2 in well working condition. However I am surprisingly almost out of memory thanks to installing a lot of games to my HD but I'm not complaining.

I've got the 60 gb version. I heard they would stop selling those and I was thinking of selling my ps2 so this would be perfect. All games luckily work on my ps3, only some FMV's are odd on screen.

I have a 250Gb one.

I was actually going for the 120Gb because it was 'cheaper' - well, I'm glad I didn't.

It wasn't cheaper. xD I paid € 50,- more for 130Gigs?

Worth it? Damn right it was.
