What Are You NOT Loking Forward To In The Final Fantasy X Remaster?

I honestly don't see why they can't do that. The PAL version if I recall correctly, is more or less the Japanese International version of the game (you know, because back then games from Japan took forever to finally reach European shores and all that...). They can just remaster the International version and result, as it's kind of already in English and Japanese already. It's the perfect excuse for SE to give the North Americans the Dark Aeons as well and it's easy as well.

Yeah, it pretty much is the international version. I hope they do that version. I'd like to have all of the extras and do the Dark Aeons etc.

That said, every time I play the game I kinda dread going through the Bevelle temple. I am the only person that found that part really annoying?

And the first hour or so of the game, too. Some of Tidus' dialogue in the beginning is just so bad. I remember playing it for the first time and I was like nooooooo, what have they done? But it got better, much better. It's my favorite FF. :)

Omg, that cannot be more true. Bevelle and the beginning. Hated both, I have known a lot of people simply give up on the game because of the first hour or so (before meeting wakka etc). So sad.

Having to look at Seymour's face in hd.

The Bevelle Cloister of Trials is hell, particularly because you can't revisit it so you only have one shot to get the item to unlock Anima. Makes for a dull, tedious hour of watching Tidus ride on a floating glyph and seeing the same annoying cutscenes of the glyph morphing into the pedestal everytime you get off it.

And what's with all the blitzball hate? Blitzball was one of my favourite things in FFX, on my first playthrough I was broke after Luca cause I played it so much that I spent all my money re-signing players.

+ Some of the Monster Arena bosses...particularly Neslug and Shinryu. They both gave me endless amounts of hassle, especially Neslug, who I couldn't kill quick enough for ages to stop him regenerating all his health, and Shinryu was just annoying...
+ Blitzball. The worst minigame in FF history.
+ Some of the godawful story scenes between Tidus and Yuna. The kiss scene and the laughing scene are the two that immediately spring to mind. The painfully cheesy romance of FFX's story that eclipses everything else in it. I hope they let you skip cutscenes...
+ The overwhelming urge I'm going to have to Platinum it, which will no doubt mean I'd need to do everything Blitzball related and that damned butterfly catching quest, as well as spend hours upon hours playing with the Sphere Grid.
+ Maxxing stats. The amount of hours this requires is horrifying...

If the Dark Aeons aren't in it though, then the odds of me purchasing it will decrease dramatically. I enjoy a challenge in my games and, without them, FFX is pretty piss easy, excluding the two Monster Arena bosses I just mentioned, who are just annoying.

When I can be bothered to actually get a PS3, I am definitely not looking forward to the Lightning Dodging, or Wakka saying "ya" after each of his lines. :hmph: Aside that, I can't wait.

Also, what does 'PAL' stand for? o:

Makes you wonder if the game will be compatible with it's PS2 counterparts' save files. There are plenty of ways to copy them to a USB device and put them on your hard drive.

Isn't the fact that it's being remastered in the first place reason enough to mourn and despair? Bad enough this travesty of nature exists, much less a remastering of it.

It could be much much worse, it could be FFVII. The original was great, but everytime they bought something out that succeded it, it killed the original a little bit more each time.

There isn't much that I'm NOT looking forward to with this remaster. I enjoyed all the cloisters, but my least favourite was the 'macarena' temple one, with shiva. One thing that irritated me about FFX was that all of the music was the same piece of music but slightly re-hashed...

no ur faec! :rage:

I don't really know how anyone can hate FFX. As far as gameplay goes, it's easily one of the best RPGs ever designed.

The whole thing ? No offense to FF X fans, but it's not my cup of tea. I like it, and it's not a horrible game, but I don't love enough to buy the remaster. Also, the fact that it's not a FF IX remaster, or FF VIII remaster. The original PlayStation 2 version is just fine for me, personally. :)

This is just a opinion though. My opinion is that the game has flaws which makes it less appealing to players. Tidus is annoying, blitzball is not a enjoyable mini game, and the game is too linear. It has too much flaws to be the best RPG designed.

gameplay =/= story and characters, minigames etc.

You might not like the Sphere Grid or the Battle System, but I know that you can't tell me there are a handful of RPGs out there that have managed to do better.

I share both of your opinions, L and Paradise. And I understand both sides.

I think that FFX is not the greatest Final Fantasy game, it's linear(ish) the side-quests are irritating, the battle system is slow.

I like Tidus' character though, at first I thought he was over the top and annoying but then you've got to remember that where he comes from (Zanarkand 1000 years back) he's a world renowned sports star, he loves the fact that everyone loves him and you've got to realise that he is going to be excitable and hyped up all of the time, that's what he'd actually be like.

Anyway, I don't think that FFX is a great Final Fantasy game, but it is, no doubt, the best RPG on PS2.

I love the Sphere Grid and the battle system, it's one of the high points of FFX. :gasp2: Final Fantasy 6 ?

I feel very opposite to what has been said recently. Story line = best in FF, characters, good I guess, not the best maybe but battle system was very slow, yet not dull as such.

I really enjoyed the battle system, story, and characters. Obviously there were some awkward parts (like the laughing :hmph:) and some of the voice acting could've been better, but overall it was quite well done. Everyone's hatin' on Wakka, my favorite FFX character next to Auron :sad3:

Oh the laughing scene. I'll never forget that one "Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha" creepy as hell.

and yea, Auron and Wakka are probably the best characters (Wakka would at least be in the top seven...)

Not looking forward to upgrading the celestial weapons D: But doing Tidus' chocobo was a lot more chill than dodging all that lightning, I remember

Platinum-ing FFX on the PS3 would be a dream come true... but honestly... the Chocobo racing, lightning dodging and butterfly catching better be simplified/toned down if there's a trophy to go along with those >.< Maybe instead of 200 Lightning bolts they could be sparing and reduce it to like... 50, and do similar things to the other pain in the ass minigames D:
