Wow, I cannot believe I haven't done this sooner! Hello everyone, my name is Jake. ^_^ I've been a fan of Final Fantasy for a while now. My first introduction was actually through Kingdom Hearts! Yep, I never knew FF existed and I bought the game due to the interest in Disney (another passion I love). When I first played the game, I had NO CLUE who Cloud or Leon (I now call him Squall :P) was! Same thing with Yuffie and Aerith. Haha, even Sephiroth left me completely lost also. But then I decided to do more research as to where these characters came from and that's when I discovered the realm of Final Fantasy.:yay:



So here are some basic things about the games I have played.

Games Played in the series: FFI, FFII, FFIV, FFV, FFVI FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, and FFX

Games I haven't played in the series: FFIII, FFXI, FFXII, FFXIII and FFXIV

Favorite Characters: Kain (FFIV), Sabin (FFVI), Tifa (FFVII):inlove:, Sephiroth (FFVII), Vivi and Zidane (FFIX), and Auron (FFX)

Favorite Game in series is Final Fantasy IX

Least Favorite is Final Fantasy II

I'm looking forward getting to know you guys and discuss this wonderful franchise!
 
Like Kain Vivi and Zidane... FFIX is your favorite... you just hit an A- right now... If you had played Final Fantasy Tactics and liked one of those characters you would be an A+! :elmo:

Also KH is amazing, and Disney classic movies are also amazing!
 
Hey Jake! Good to see you like FF9...although my favourite FF always changes between 7-10, 9 is my favourite also at the moment.

I agree with Bender, if you're looking for another very solid FF, then Tactics won't let you down. Be prepared for a grid-based battle system and a slightly higher difficulty and I'm sure you'll love it. Great plot, characters and soundtrack. It's available on PSN for somewhere around $5, along with the improved PSP version if you have one of those.

That's a good list of favourites, etc. And that games that you've listed as playing are largely speaking my favourites in the series.

Aye, I know quite a few people who got into Final Fantasy through the Kingdom Hearts games. I think the addition of disney makes it so much more accessible to newer folks!

Anyway, enjoy your time here!

Though, I is not impressed by your dislike of II. I'm one of the few fans of that game and its system! :P

Welcome my friend!! I recently just played through IX and I have to say it's tied with VI and tactics as my favorite also. The community here is awesome no doubt and I'm glad you have joined us!!

Final Fantasy Tactics is definitely on my to-do list. Right now, I'm busy finishing up FFX HD. Tactics is going to be tough for me because of it's play style but I think I'll get used to it.

Sabin is indeed THE BOMB! By far my favorite FFVI character. You see, I actually like to play fighting games from time to time and Sabin played like he came straight out of Street Fighter. Because of that, I felt really comfortable having him on my team. My most useful member in the party also.

Tifa is my all time favorite FF character so we have that in common Six. lol

Kingdom Hearts has a huge place in my "heart". I came for the Disney and stayed for the Final Fantasy.

I don't dislike FFII, it just happens to be my least favorite. lol Then again, I haven't played XIII yet soooo.....

Thanks, I like my sig also. I wanted to do something both creative and nostalgic.

Yea the tactics play style will take some getting use too and the battles can last long but you will fall in love with it. There so are so many job combinations to use in party's and when you develop that perfect battle strategy that pays off it feels great. Then again also be prepared for a few ass kickings that quickly teaches you what not to do. But like V the job system is the star of the game with an above average story to go along with it.
