This is a voting thread for your personal favorite Final Fantasy card game. Please choose your vote wisely since you can only vote once. You may also post your personal opinion about them if you like. Have fun and enjoy the thread!

I personally like Triple Triad better than Tetra Master because of various things. The things that I like about Triple Triad is that you get to play with different trade rules such as One, Difference, Direct, All and Elemental. Each of this rules contains different rule of their own applying the difficulty of each game depending on the rule or rules that applies for that location, which it makes this card game so fun and enjoyable to play. I also like the Elemental Rule which can either increase or hinder the strength of the card based on the neighboring cards elemental property and that is why I voted Triple Triad over Tetra Master.

Triple Triad. Absolutely no competition whatsoever. I've probably spent more hours on Triple Triad than I have on the rest of FFVIII...probably. Its just horrendously addicting - Shuffle or Boogie doesn't help matters either...I could listen to that all day and not get bored of it. Probably. XD

Tetra Master isn't even fun, in my opinion ._.

This.

So many times I have played FFVIII just to get all the cards & not bothered to even complete the game. I was psyched when I saw FFIX was to have card game but was hugely disappointed with it, I even played the online version with FFXI but neither came close to Triple Triad.

Triple Triad, there's actually some point in playing it.

So many rules, so many opponents that are actually good, and much much more rewarding. It actually helped me a lot by playing it cos you could get strong magic and weapons by being good at it early on. I'm still yet to understand the rules of Tetra Master properly yet still manage to win somehow.

Though the cards resulted from playing TT are actually USEFUL, Tetra Master gets my vote. I didn't care for how the rules would change from one region to another but I guess that takes away the repetitiveness of it. If you were to ask me which one is better I'd tell you Triple Triad. But if you ask me which one would I prefer to play? TM all the way.

This is actually a tough one for me :hmmm: I ended up going with Triple Triad just because it's a lot easier to win for me, but I really liked the leveling-up that the cards could do in Tetra Master, and the numbers were easier to read and better placed, I thought. Both are a lot of fun though :)

Triple Triad, by far. Apart from that part of the game where you're forced to play Tetra Master, I never play it. Triple Triad on the other hand, I can spend a whole day playing the damn card game xD

There's just something about Triple Triad that makes it addicting, and, like the others have said, you actually get something out of it - now when I play FFVIII, refining cards is my primary way of getting magic and items.

I loved triple triad. They even sold actual cards of the game.

I'm going with Tetra Master. With the numbering system of the cards, and the 4x4 board, it offered much more strategical game. Positioning your cards in just the right spot, taking down a card to have corresponding cards fall as well. You could dominate one game, just to make a mistake and get your ass beat later.

With Triple Triad I was offered a much easier game. No strategy required at all. I could randomly place cards down and win most of the time. Not to mention the 3x3 board was tiny, and rather annoying to deal with.

I had much more fun with Tetra Master. I loved the fact that you could play it from the beginning, level your cards, and continue throughout the game and things were still kept a challenge for the player as not only your cards, but the NPC's cards got stronger as well.

Tetra Master FTW!

Triple Triad could kick Yu-Gi-Oh's ass any day. It clearly wins as there are so many different rules and just collecting new ones was addictive enough. I often found myself getting a card stolen and having to keep playing to get it back xD

Triple Triad. It was fun, and it didn't get repetitive as they generally used different cards each time. Plus, you could get different amount of cards depending on the rule, so that was always a plus.

Tetra Master was OK. It confused the fuck outta me, but I managed to figure out enough to beat the tourny that you had to play in during the plot. Still prefer Triple Triad as the cards were actually useful in-game as well, since you could turn them into items that are pretty hard to get otherwise.

I liked Triple Triad better because it had an overall more cheerful tone when you played it. It had better music, it was brighter and easier to see, the cards were displayed larger, and played a bigger role in the rest of the game itself.
For me Tetra Master was very boring, and a little overwhelming at times. Too many card placements with too many arrows pointing in too many directions.

Definitely Triple Triad.

Tetra Master has got nothing on Triad. The Triple Triad cards are even useful, they can be converted into items that is useful for the gameplay.

Never could get into Tetra Mater, Bowly had to teach me how to play it but even when I learned it and thought it was kinda fun, it still wasn't near as good as Triple Triad, I swear most of my game play in VIII tends to be the card game :rage:

This is a tough one because I enjoyed both games a lot. I'll go with Triple Triad though since it was really the only mini-game in VIII that I enjoyed. :hmmm:

It's funny because I didn't actually start playing until halfway through the game but then I couldn't stop. I completed all of the quests involving Triple Triad and collected all of the cards. :ryan:

I didn't spend nearly as much time as I should have on Tetra Master but that's because Chocobo Hot and Cold took up all of my time. :lew:

Triple Triad, definitely. The cards were actually worth something if you knew what cards you needed to refine. It made getting magic easier and more entertaining to the boring "sets cursor to memory and places something heavy on the x button to continually draw"

Triple Triad. :awesome:

Triple Triad is my favorite mini-game out of all the Final Fantasies. I never liked Tetra Master, the only time I ever played it was when you had to in Treno. Triple Triad was a lot easier too, imo.
