Oh that's so interesting. I've gotta keep that in mind, especially since I've always wanted to go to Scotland, Ireland, and England even as a wee one. Shame he lost most of his accent though but yeah I heard traces of it in 300. I thought he had the nicest voice ever when I first heard it.
I was just like, "I wouldn't mind waking up to someone who spoke like that." Haha a Fifer. Oh so you speak the Doric accent just casually like with your friends and family and ish? It sounds pretty cool to me actually. I wouldn't mind hearing it at all. Lol that's like me when I'm 'round my family, I'll just subconsciously find myself saying "yah mon" and "ehe" which is basically "Yes" but everyone knows that Jamaicans say the first one. Lol. Or I'll just take on a slight accent cause i just can't help it since my aunt and grandma talk like that around our relatives. I grew up hearing it so it's natural to me but then sometimes when I'm around my friends and I slip into it, they'll think I'm talking funny. Lol.

Aye i would speak to my pals normally like. In the scots dialect. Cuz thats just what everyone does. Bar the posh scots who want to be English or whatever theyre reason is for nae talking like the rest of us. To people outside the country though it just makes no sense

That's effing cool though. It's like talking in a secret code or some shit. So there's gotta be loads of different dialects unique to each region, then? Haha yeah most people don't understand a lick of Jamaican patois. So what my friends will do is ask me to tell 'em what such and such means and I'll just translate it in a sense. But it's a total riot for me to curse someone out in Jamaican patois and be like you "blood clot you" and they'll just be like "the eff is she on about? What ever she said sounds gross as fuck."

i think so, yeah. they're more likely to speak the queen's english down south, so they pronounce their t's a lot more than up north as well

The dropping of the H thing is something I used to do when I was like 9 or so and didn't know any better.
And then my grandfather forced me to speak with this weird hybrid proper Queen's English/Jamaican accent thing.
The news anchors and politicians in Jamaica that are "educated" speak with this weird put on accent where they enunciate everything and it's annoying as feck. And then they have this slight proper lilt and stuff. It's weird. My grandfather slips into it but that's only 'cause when he was growing up they had currency like shilling and pence and they learned Queen's English.

Oona which is like oona gwan over deh so.

You skip the T's even when talking normal English (not that gibberish /smug)

Jamaicans that come over here have the hardest time saying words like "three" "through" words that have the "th" sound.
They'll say "t'ree" and "'ting" so like "Pass me that ting over deh so nuh?" "Mi only av tree dollah fi give yuh suh."
But different dialects are interesting. I just think it's funny how Jamaican creole kinda sounds similar to Trini dialects and vice versa.

I do tend to say haych when talking about the letter. If I was to use a word with H in it I mostly do acknowledge that H is there, but there may be some words and some occasions when I do not. Accent has always been an odd thing with me.
