The small town of Semblance, in Illinois, is quiet, relaxed, and never in trouble. Crime rate is low. Media coverage is non-existant. It doesn't even appear on the map. Most citizens of Semblance never leave this tiny town, content to remain in the company of the town, its surrounding woodland and its deep religious culture.
However, that is all about to change. A number of nights ago, a projectile flew over the town of Semblance and broke apart overhead, raining down six crystals upon the town itself and the surrounding woodland. It was the beginning of a new chapter in the town of Semblance, and soon, the whole continent. Later, the whole world would suffer the consequences of what had started in this sleepy town.
Soon, six people were to find these crystals, and become attached to them; addicted to these glimmering objects that lit up, seemingly at random times. They refused to relinquish them, for one reason or another. No matter who found them,this would be the case.
However, there would always be those select few that would become corrupted by these crystals, these embodiments of the elements. They would become paranoid, violent, and unpredictable. And the crystals' influence continues over the days and weeks, until these people are changed to a shadow of their former selves.
For some, however, the crystals make them better, more pure, more outgoing, and more moral. It enhances them, makes them a champion of the weak. They become more ambitious, less able to ignore life outside of Semblance and the evil that exists in the world.
However, soon, the six Embodiments were to find one another. They all thought they had been given this pwoer for a reason and so began to form their own philosophies on how the world should be. Alliances and followings were gathered, and the battle for a ruler began.

This RP will start the day the main characters find their crystals. There are three types of characters you can make.
The Embodiments
These will be the main characters and can only be made by someone who intends to give high detail to both posts and bios. Each will get a crystal of their respective element towards the beginning of the RP. They are the only characters capable of using magic. There are six in total.
Government/Military
These are the group that will be hunting the crystals, and later the Embodiments. They know all about the crystals, though how is unknown. Their bios and posts will require relatively high detail.
Civilians
These include the citizens of Semblance and other locations, and also the police force of these location. Later in the RP they may choose an Embodiment to side with in their philosophy, which will inevitably make them enemies of any other Embodiments. Their bios and posts will require moderate detail

Philosophy
Later in the RP, the Embodiments will become dissatisfied with the way the world is and disillusioned, and want to change things. A more evil Embodiment may want domination and slavery, while a good Embodiment could want to protect the weak, or have equality. One Embodiment can become allies with another if their philosophies are similar. You can make your Embodiment early or late in the RP. Everyone will move at a different pace.

Alignment
Regardless of which element you choose, no particular element needs to be asscociated with good or evil. However, I'd like a fair number of good and evil characters. It's no fun if five Embodiments are evil and only one is good. So try to look at who is good and evil and make your character's alignment approriately.

Semblance
Semblance is a small town, split into three different parts:
City Centre
This is where City Hall and the police station are located, as well as a statue of the town's founder, Ciaran Semblance. The grass is lined perfectly with yellow and red flowers, and the grass is cut perfectly. It is a symbol of neatness.
Industrial District
A number of factories and businesses are run here. The towns elementary, middle and high schools are also located here. It is the largest part of Semblance
Residential District
These are suburbs, one at each end of the town. Houses neatly line the area, along with square gardens and a straight road out of town.
To the West and East of town there are fields and then forests. The two roads out of town are miles of rough country road and mountainous terrain that requires a car or high speed to pass through.
