Three teenage burglars have allegedly snorted the cremated remains of a man and two dogs after mistaking the ashes for drugs.

The three teenagers stole an urn and another container during a burglary in central Florida in December, the NY Daily News reported.

Believing the contents were cocaine or heroin, the five burglars snorted the ashes, unaware they were those of the homeowner's father and her two pet dogs.

The burglars later realised their mistake but were reluctant to return the remaining ashes out of fear their fingerprints would be found on the containers, the Daily News reports.

The three teens, aged between 18 and 19, also allegedly stole a television, DVD player and other electronics, as well as an assortment of jewellery.
They were arrested and charged this week with burglary and grand theft.

How dumb can you get?

Surely if they're about to snort drugs they would have some idea of what cocaine or heroin looked and smelt like.

I can't believe they snorted that poor ladies loved ones. =/

Disgusting.

I guess they should have ashed about those "drugs" before they snorted it.
/bad pun

Anyway, if that had been my house, I don't think I could have stopped laughing at them. Sure, I would have been a little peeved, but they just snorted my grandmother. Well, I guess they'll get the ultimate high BY HALLUCINATING DIRTY IMAGES OF MY GRANDMA!

People are getting stupider by the day. Like those bank robbers that tried to disguise themselves by colouring their faces in with black marker pen :ffs:

hahahahahaha :lew: the ashes of a man and 2 dogs ? :lew: thats hilarious

Were they in the same jar or something? And wouldnt that be alot of ash 8( Those kids mustve thought they hit the jackpot.

The story sounds a bit unbelievable tbh or exagerated somewhat. These folk are out robbin yer house but they dont know what cocaine looks like?

Not only that, if you had *that* much heroin/coke, would you really stash it in an urn on your mantlepeice? :wacky:

The street value would have been enormous hahahaha

hahahah exactly :lew:

Keeping ashes is creepy anyway, a deed mans remains sittin in a wee jar above the fireplace? Fuck that.

How did they get even get caught? It doesnt say.

Probably followed the trail of dead dogman to their hideout, they seem stupid enough

Are you kidding? Teens thesedays know shit when it comes to drugs, especially with the state of drug education :P Besides kids will snort anything anyway, my personal preference was Polo's back in the day...

And you don't have to be a druggie to rob someone house. Though clearly these guys were pure idiots of the highest order. I mean what other powdery substance would be in a fucking URN on a fucking MANTELPIECE!?

Fix'ed. You think your just getting one set of ashes in those urns? You'd be wrong, there will be bits of others in that there jar. ;)

As hilarious as I find this, I can't get over the fact that they didn't even look to see if it was the drug in question. Posers in my opinion. I hope they get ample punishment, as I see it as in the same realm of "grave robbing' it is the remains of people.

But I suppose...if they were already under the influence of like drugs or shrooms, it could be a tad more understandable why they mistook it...but still, I'm not sure how likely that is.

I'm sorry, but

I wish we had stories like this on the news because it would make the news less depressing...well okay it still is depressing because these kids were so stupid...but still.

Its sad really. They were so desperate for a "fix" they didn't even bother figuring out what the substance they were sniffing was until they had already sniffed it. The poor dogs and the owner...what a way to R.I.P.

I can't believe that they thought drugs were in an urn.

I wonder what made them think that drugs would be in such a place all loose like that. >.<

Wouldn't ash be totally different colour and texture to cocaine and heroin anyway? 0_o

People are really just getting more stupid by the day. >.<

"The three teenagers stole an urn and another container during a burglary in central Florida"

This explains everything :wacky: /floridian

Seriously though, unless you can afford to go to the theme parks all the time, there's nothing to do there, so I'm not surprised a bunch of kids would want to run around breaking into houses and trying to find as many drugs as possible. I guess they've never seen the nine million slapstick comedy movies, though, in which dear Aunt Tessie's urn is "comedically" broken during some sort of squabble to make an awkward moment, during which time a bunch of dusty flakes flutter onto the carpet :ffs: Everyone knows what's kept in there, ffs.
