Playstation Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot

Crash was my first ever game i played for a playstation!
Real classic game, i think number 1 was the best. but at the same time the hardest.
Crash Team Racing, that was also a great game, i think i might have even played that one the most out of all of them due to the mulitplyer aspects.
But when naughty dog droped Crash it totally went down hill. they never should have sold it and just left it was it was. The name of the game i think has lost all its credability today due to the amount of crap games its got under it, For me the last crash game was CTR.

Crash was one of my first games I owned when I was much younger and it was love at first sight and I bought many of the sequels as well xD It was when my family bought PS1 I realized games was my thing :D haha, I only hade spyro on a demo but I played it through a couple of times ^^

I liked both, but overall I think Crash had the better series. But I really liked Spyro Year of the Dragon over any game from both series. But one good game did not make up for the other games. I did not really like the other spyro games they weren't that good as Year of the Dragon to me. But I liked Crash alot. I had the first one, Crash Bash (brought so much fun), and Crash Team Racing was awesome.

When I was young I loved all of both the Spyro and Crash games.
Spyro was my favorite though. I really don't play them anymore.
I put spyro on my psp but I never play it.
Also I don't remember any of the boss fights in Spyro,
but I remember collecting gems for that moneybags guy, or whatever
his name was, that was a lot of fun.

i have always preferred crash over spyro, but they were both great games, i still have crash 2 and 3 with the price tags *looks at the price* wooow £40 for ps1 games :O cant believe i payed that much for a ps1 game back then:P

I love Spyro and Crash!!! I used to play them all the time..... but since i dont have a working ps1/2 i cant play anything for now.

I tried getting into Spyro, but I just never got in a good enough "mood" to play that crap. I thought it was fun, when I was about 7.

I love Crash games. I can play those games and almost always find all the secrets in the levels. There are some hard parts and some insanely easy parts, but its still a fun game.

I loved them both but only on the PSX, the games on the other consoles just lost quality and charm. I liked spyro's gem system and story, but in the end Crash takes cake because it's just plain fun to play.

I loved both games

Spyro was immense i remember playing one game where he was on a skateboard and you had to get some animals before the time ran out i forgot which spyro game it was now!

I was JUST about to make a new thread for Spyro, but I noticed this one :hmmm:

Spyro is one of my FAVORITE PSone games. It was the first game I got for PSone, and it's always been a favorite of mine. I always sucked at the flying levels. I crashed FAR too often. I just downloaded Spyro off the PSN the other night, so I've been playing it nearly every day. I just beat it yesterday, and I actually completed the flying levels so I got it 120% :jess:

As for Crash, I remember playing the very first one when I was little, and I really liked it, but I was merely borrowing it from someone, and I never got to beat it :hmmm:

i never got into spyro, mainly because i hated the camera angles i had to deal with. But crash i beat all the ps1 games including crash bash and CTR. my sister loved them and got me into them, but once they went on the ps2 it just was ehhh.

one of my earliest gaming memories is playing Crash 3 in my sisters room and blasting Big Willie Style. lol.

SPARX <3333333 Sexy dragonfly, you.

I loooooooved Spyro. I've been playing it again recently, as Jeff got either a discount or got it for free with the Playstation Plus subscription he has. I missed the game and it's fucking awesome. I never beat it a full 100%, planning on that now though however.

Crash was awesome too, but Spyro wins hands down, for me.

I loved them both equally, i liked the who idea of an Australian/NZ animal starring in a game, but at the same time being able to FLY!!!! and shooting flames is awesome.

ahh, how i do miss those games :(

I've never played Spyro, though it's always looked interesting to me. I'd get a Spyro game if I randomly saw one. :hmmm:

As for Crash, Mom is a HUGE fan. I'm not even joking. She loves Crash and I don't know why. I mean, the games were fun though. I liked them. These are more childhood memories. :)

Spyro was a bit boring from what I remember. Been years since I've played it though. I don't think I ever played any of the sequels.

I used to love Crash Bandicoot: Warped back in the day. I haven't played it in years but I remember it being a pretty damn good platformer. The other titles in the series were pretty dull but the third definitely holds a candle of nostalgia for me.

Oh if I start remembering when I used to play Spyro I have to return to my early childhood (I was 8 or 9 at that time, I think..so many memories :3 ). Spyro was one of the best videogames I played for PSX. Then I played it also for PS2, but I didn't like it very much: infact I didn't finish it.

However, Spyro for PSX was a center piece of my childhood. I loooved that little purple dragon :3
My favourite one was Spyro the Dragon and I think it will never get old. I replayed it some years ago: I just love the nostalgia it brings.
You sir, have inspired me to dig out my PS1.

PS: On the contrary I hate the new spyros u.u Long Live Lofty Castle!

I've recently started playing through every crash Bandicoot Naughty Dog ever made, (crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot: Cortex strikes back, Crash Warped, and Crash Team Racing (CTR)) and just finished unlocking every hidden character in CTR. I no-lifed CTR as a kid, as did some of my friends, but I no-lifed it harder than them. I remember my buddy bragging about how he got all the gold relics and a few platinum relics. Figured he had gotten all the easy platinum relics, I looked at him and laughed. I showed him my saved game with Pura and he saw that I didn't have a single sapphire relic, not a single gold relic, but every platinum relic. I remember how goddamn hard it was to get the platinum relic at Tiger Temple...But all that practice made me be able to unlock N.Tropy and beat my friends in races, to the point that we never raced against me anymore, it was just me battling, unless I played as Tiny or Dingodile, as I sucked with them, which made it even.

Crash Bash I started to play through, but I forgot how repetitive it was, it gets boring after the first 2 bosses. After that, the only good Crash Bandicoot game was Twinsanity, and to a small extent Nitro Kart, but they didn't really have any replay value.

Well I have been playing Spyro on and off for years I can't get enough of the lovely purple dragon. Crash Bandicoot however just never really appealed to me even though I had played the first three games. I just think Spyro was a much better game and more fun to play.

Spyro! :inlove:
That skateboarding!!!! Twisted lemons and limes all day. ;))

I normally do not like platform style games but Spyro is just too cool. One of those games you just have to get 100% in.

And I definitely did not ever draw Sparx all over my school journal...bye! :wacky:
