Its funny though dont you think?

How no matter what a sotw theme is. People will enter an anime tag.

Its like o_O

USE SOME IMAGINATION :rage:
 
Other forums are much more strict with SOTW. There was one week where someone entered an anime tag and it had nothing to do with the theme. Other forums disqualify entries that the mods think aren't appropriate... which may be unfair on subjective themes like emotion but still... :hmmm:

Personally i agree with that 100%

If the theme isnt there they shouldnt be entered. The person should be asked to re-do something proper.

Say the theme was sorrow. And a person uses an anime person with a sad face and tearfull eyes. Does that qualify :hmmm:
 
It probably would. You can't really turn people away because they use anime and we find it boring, but they should probably be turned away if the theme isn't obvious. You could argue that a sad face does follow the theme of sorrow. :hmmm:
 
Anime is incredibly overused in signature work, no matter where you go.

Simply put, my natural dislike for Naruto has slowly grown into a great hate.
 
Dont get me wrong i have no issues with people using anime in their work whatsoever.
I just hate when people use it to represent any given theme. It shows a lack of creativity. There are times when anime renders can work well. But it seems some people weigh the personality of the character against the theme....if you know what i mean.

I wonder if there will be any anime renders in this weeks advertisement theme :hmmm:

I've stuck up the SOTW voting thread, but I can't put up AOTW until I have at least one more entry xD I only have one at the moment :gasp:
 
Sorry took so long with guidelines guys.

Been really sick the last week so I've been a bit out of it.

Went for something I've been wanting to try out for a while...
 
Went for a more generic theme this week, sorry guys. But the broader themes always seem to attract more entries, so hopefully we should get a lot of entries this week.

We'll do something different for SOTW 150 / AOTW 100 though, to make up for it xD

I can put SOTW up. AOTW is gonna have to wait til tomorrow by the looks of things. -waddles to put up SOTW;-
 
I have an idea for SOTW 150. What if, the week before, when Vikki posts the guidelines for SOTW 149, I ask people to PM me a image, and then during SOTW 150, I randomly give them out to those who want to enter? So it's pre-chosen stocks, but the ones choosing the stocks are you guys? :hmmm:
 
I'll be honest, I don't really like the idea. I feel like that'd be taking away a bit of freedom and perhaps giving another person an advantage...? Like if you pick out a really good stock and someone else uses it, they'd have the upper hand. :hmmm: If I'm even interpreting this right.
 
I think its a good idea. AS long as all the timages are HQ it sounds like a laugh.
ALthough if you give me anime :hmph:
 
:hmmm: I thought it worked really well when we used the fixed stock theme last time. We had about 12 stocks, but we gave them all numbers, and people had to PM for the number.

We could make a rule about high-quality images only, or something, so it's not the case that one member gets an awesome image, and another gets a low quality image. :hmmm:

I'm just throwing ideas out here, since 150 is a pretty big deal, since it's AOTW 100. So, any and all suggestions are welcome :yay:
