Now, you may look at this weeks entry and think "wtf" at first, but, it's a theme that's been deliberately chosen to look simple, when really, it's quite deep.

There's loads of surreal and abstract stuff related to the theme, I think I'd die if I got a load of Disney-related entries :gonk:

I can't say I was too pleased with the theme. I've been searching for pics for the passed half our. -_- I refuse to go Disney.

Either way... Hopefully I can come up with something...

I'm quite excited about this theme. I even told Mark I'm considering making a sig for this. Alice in Wonderland was one of my favourite childhood stories and memories. You refuse to go Disney? What's so wrong with Disney? It's a cartoon. Graphics not really different than a lot of video games and anime.
 
I'm just not in the mood to make a Disney sig is all? o_O I never said something was wrong with Disney.

Not everyone likes the same themes. If you dont like a theme its just gunna make it hard to work with which in turn would stop people doing it. I know if i enter i cetainly wont do the disney take of alice in wonderland, screw that, not my thing.

Funnily enough ive actually wanted to do something with Depp as the mad hatter for ages. Theres some real cool pictures of him, i think i may enter this week.

Yes. It's all about creativity this week. I was talking with a few people about the theme before I decided on it, and they agreed that it can either be seen as a rubbish theme with Disney Pictures, or really creative. There's loads of surreal art out there relating to Alice in Wonderland, since the story is said to be influenced by the author using drugs.

I actually did go 'wtf' but I'll definitely check out this surreal art. Should be pretty trippy lol. Thanks for the heads up mate. :monster:
 
Ooooooh, I really like this as a theme... because I want to use Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts 8F Also, there was that show on SciFi/SyFy (Why they changed the name I'll never know) called Alice, which would also count for this, and it was all real people, with a different plot line than Alice in Wonderland but still based in Wonderland.

I don't think I'll be using Disney pictures... although.. there is an Alice in Wonderland episode of my favorite anime... choices, choices :ness:
 
Oh btw guys, I was on the phone with Vikki yesterday, and since she'd definitely back on Wednesday, although I'll be the one putting the guidelines up on Friday, you'll have to send your entries to her.

And then we're going back to sharing SOTW again. Huzzah!

And the next new one goes to Vikki? If so, okies, got it. If not... Eh?
 
Yeah, I think that's how it goes.. Vikki will be back on the 20th, so this this week's or Alice In Wonderland goes to Mark/Stevie Nicks, and then whatever next week's is goes to Vikki.

And... is anyone else having trouble making anything for this? xD I open photoshop and then go look for images.. and it's not that I can't find any.. it's that.. I think I'm being too picky tbh :hmmm:

Ive found this the easiest theme in ages. I alreays knew straight away what image i was gunna use and what way i was gunna approach making the tag and im really happy with how it turned out. Although i can say i dont really feel interested in GFX anymore making this tag was a blast, wish they were all like that. I was looking for other images aswell just out of curiosity and theres a lot i like. The chatracyers just have this intetresting dark look about themwhich makes them easier to use imo. Disney images = lame though.

Agreed.

I orginally was gonna go with a picture I had found, but I decided to give it a new go.

I've had the most shite time looking for images, 'cause as stated above the images were far out lame. =/

Took me a damned long time to find something I liked, and I wasn't too happy with the outcome still.

You don't necessarily have to make it the focal, it's just what people should, and probably will, be judging it on.

Basically, if it's just bog-standard text...it isn't going to cut it.

As Mark stated he would put the guidelines up, but as of wednesday Vikki should be back. :hmmm:
