Sometime in the next few days - perhaps tonight, tomorrow, or the day after - the site will be changing servers. This will lead to downtime overnight. The forums will be disabled, and it may take time for the DNS to update.

Note that the vbulletin will also be upgraded, which means the current plugins will be disabled. Many features of the site may change or no longer be available. The shoutbox will be upgraded and a new RPG will be installed.

If there are any peculiar bugs or site issues related to the move, email me at: namedzone[at]gmail.com
 
when will we know when the servers are up and running at full speed?

oh well :mokken: at least we'll still have the SB and forums.......as well as the RPG.:hmph:

Well as long as it comes back. And yay for SB, it's my favorite part of the site.

Posting will be disabled during the move. When it is open again it means the move was done.

Well, pretty much everything other than the shoutbox and RPG. I can reinstall new plugins to replace any that people particularly miss, but it wouldn't be immediately.

There may be some chaos because I'm not sure what disabling all current plugins will do. It might break the site layout as well. But the current plugins won't be compatible with the new vB so it's mostly unavoidable. Expect hiccups until I get things sorted out. Post any details of hiccups you encounter in this thread :)
 
Oh wow! So this will be in the next few days? Guess I'll have nothing much to do in that time :P I'm guessing the lost features include the arcade? As long as I gots the Sb I'm happy ^_^

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious. xD

As we're going up to 3.8, I think it's presumably the case that an upgrade will bring along a few more things, though whatever they are I've no idea. :wacky:
 
It will be an upgrade. We'll probably get newer plugins but likely not the latest since it will be upgraded to 3.8 and not 4.0.

And we'll no longer have Ryan's pretty skin (that sounds really weird). :sad:

Probably the default one until we can get a new one made. If it's anything like the default one for this version, it will be very hard on the eyes. :lew:

Ah thanks for the message Lord Golbez. I knew it would be upgraded sometime this week. Looking forward to this. I wonder how the upgraded sb will work. Thanks though LG! Awww Ill miss Ryan's skin as I always use it.. :sad:

Not sure how that compares to your card game suggestion however.

The skin may or may not work, if it does work there will probably be some stuff broken. We'll have to see after the upgrade, I'm not familiar enough with the technical details to say beforehand.
