[RP] The Gates of Tehera

"I can't wait for class today. I wonder what's gonna happen."

Rendon walked to where his class would be, and thought about how he would go through his process. He ran it through his head over and over so that he wouldn't forget it. He was determined to make this day different.

"This is what needs to be done." He thought to himself.

He walked into the room, which was packed with people, and picked himself a seat in the back. He always sat in the back when it was crowded like that, and was usually one of the last ones there after class, to avoid the mobs of people.

"This is the dawning of a new day, and I shall be the one to control my own destiny, from here on out."

"One large pepperoni pie please," Ren called over to the young guy wiping down the counter with a wet rag, as everyone walked in to the store.

"Comin' right up. You ladies and gents want anything else with that?"

"No thanks Nico, that's all. Thanks," Ren smirked and fished in his pocket for some change.

The hole-in-the-wall pizza place was vacant save for an old woman fiddling with her glass of Pepsi. She was seated by the window, looking decidedly introspective, as if she were grappling with the memories of her yester-years. Asuka ran her fingers through her soft hair wearily before she pulled a stool over to a table near one of the walls and sat done.

That woman was so old. The difficulties of her life were etched onto her face like a crinkled roadway or a map, revealing all of her deepest fears, trepidations, and desires.

Groaning softly, Asuka started to play with the napkin dispenser idly before Aimi took a seat across from her. Her cheery mood had effectively evaporated into nothingness. Something wasn't right, she could feel it.

"Penny for your thoughts, hon?"

"Hm, oh I'm just thinking . . . ," Asuka smiled softly and glanced over to the old woman again. Sitting aross from the patron were Ren and Jin who were discussing something about Final Fantasy XII. The nerds, Asuka loved them to bits, were just total JRPG fanboys. She'd rather have them sweet, silly, and nerdy than apathetic and taciturn any day.

But lately . . .

"Death . . . I can't help but wonder about it sometimes," it was definitely uncharacteristic for Asuka to slip into a dark mood. However today, something about the stirring in the air made her feel uneasy; something about the odd striations in the eyes of those psychics started a heaving fit in the column of hr throat.

"What about it?" Aimi looked generally concerned, her hazel-eyed gaze softening as she glanced at her friend. Asuka shrugged, unsure about how to breach the topic of her brothers' deaths to her best friend.

"I--I just wonder what it'll be like, when we go . . . if it hurts . . . I guess, I just--I'm curious about it. About why . . .," Aska paused watching as the old woman hobbled over to the counter and spoke in fragmented Spanglish to the young Portuguese restaraunter.

"--I hope everyone's doing fine, Nico." The old woman smiled softly and everyone turned to regard Asuka, save for the two people engaged in their conversation.

"Everyone's great, Mrs. DeSosa. But how are you, ever since your husband . . . ?" Nico's lips thinned and he looked rueful, "I shouldn't have . . . ," he fumbled for the right words.

"It's fine, I'm at peace now. Soon, I'll be with him anyway. That's how Death works . . . it takes the good souls to a better place . . . the bright side is . . . you'll meet your loved ones too. In due time, in due time," she coughed dryly and politely inclined her head to Nico who waved back to her.

"Take care," and then the gang's pizza was ready.

"Later, we'll have a chat okay?"

"S-sure!" Asuka smiled brightly, trying to smother the suffocating sense of emptiness that had somehow filled in her heart. Sure, she was thankful every day for her life, she had friends, a wonderful, supportive family, and her health was in top condition. But, her brothers, her beloved, goofy, and gallant brothers were gone. They were snatched away from her too soon, surely Death had made an error. What that woman had said couldn't be true.

"Excuse me guys, I'll be just a minute."

"Asuka! Your slice is gonna get cold! I might just--" Jin started up, meaning to follow after her retreating form.

"Let her go, she needs some breathing room." Ren smiled and Jin reluctantly relaxed his fisted hands.

"She can't close off like that when the going gets tough, we're here for her," their voices faded away as Asuka stepped out into the cool air. Letting the door to the store click closed, she watched the passersby hurry across the streets and sidewalks. Then . . . she saw him . . . a guy with white hair walking up the sidewalk. He looked . . . different, possibly cold, unapproachable. Asuka wasn't sure but she steeled herself and called out to him anyway.

"Hey!"

Raistlin put down his phone, and decided against ordering the pizza. He could just put something in the microwave and they could share it. Besides, he was still pretty pissed off that Remilia's progress had been... Nonexistant.

It was annoying enough that she asked him for help despite the fact that he was an Elemental, and she was a Psychic, but it became more annoying because he knew he was a terrible teacher. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't burn Psychic skills into her, and touching her skin wasn't going to do any good. It was also obvious that her touching his skin wasn't going to do anything either.

He was standing outside of Remilia's house, pacing in the front yard. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Remilia walk outside. “Look, Raistlin, I'm sorry. I'm trying as hard as I can...” She was genuinely sorry, yet at the same time, it did nothing to bring his mood up. “It's okay. I don't see what the hell you thought I could do to help you. I'm an Elemental, not a Psychic.”

Remilia knew he was angry. However, this was the first time he had even given up on her. She wanted to cry, but she tried her best to hold back a tear. “Don't cry. It's the logical choice I have here. I can't help you, therefore I quit.” Remilia hated herself right now. She didn't want to cry in front of him. She hated how her tear ducts betrayed her.

“Look, I may not be able to help you control your powers, but I can help you defend yourself.” Raistlin could promise that. He knew what she could do with objects around her, and he could, and he would, help her utilize that in combat. If she couldn't be touched without passing out, he would have to teach her to injure anyone that could.

"Do you have anything more important than me? I'm sure you do. Not that I care, but if you do then you should straighten out your priorities."

Those words left Reine baffled, but she didn’t think too much into it. “Priorities,” She wondered aloud. “I would think getting to know an Elemental is a top priority.” Remembering her school bag, and the fact she was probably already late for school, she assumed that Mystro must have noticed these. Still, with nary a care for school, she follows Mystro on to a road.

"My name is Mystro Kazuki. Spelled M-Y-S-T-R-O pronounced Maestro. Italian for Musician, I just spell it differently."

Finally able to get his name, Reine grinned broadly. “Well then,” She said. “It sure is nice to meet you, Mystro. That’s quite an interesting name, isn’t it?”

She was referring to his surname, which seemed to be Japanese. As the two walked, she took a quick glance around the road on which they walked. The road was pockmarked with numerous potholes, which led Reine to tread more carefully. It was also lined with cracks that seemingly branched out unnaturally, which led Reine to ask,” Hey Mystro, do you practice your skills out here?”

Having known now that Mystro was an Earth elemental, Reine promptly assumed that the features on the road were of his doing. It only made the girl more curious, and excited too. So excited was the girl that she could barely contain it, having to release it by pleading with him,” Hey, show me a bit, would you!”

Hearing Reine ask if he practiced his skills here, he began to reminisce of when his mother was teaching him. She was trying to teach him to crate sand, but he recalled ho difficult it was when he was so young. Instead of making sand he would merely crack the stones, not even splitting them completely. How he felt about himself...he couldn't do it the way his mother showed him. She reassured him that he would learn soon, but that had been a few months of her saying it. If he could learn so soon, then why hadn't he progressed any?

Specifically he recalled one night. Hos mother was not there to teach him this night, she was busy with other more important matters. But this did not stop him from practicing. Determined, he took a stone in his hand. He say the moon at the peak of darkness that night when he was trying so hard. His focus was getting better. He gasped when he managed to split a single stone in half. Repeating his attempts he eventually could create gravel...It wasn't sand...but it was much better. When he saw his mother in the morning, he showed her. She was so proud of him. And he was happy.

But then the modern day snapped back into reality.

"Yeah, my name...My mother was Italian, thus my first name came from her. My last name is of my father, he was of Caucasian decent, but adopted by an Asian family."

"Hey, show me a bit, would you?"

Without saying anything, keeping the night in his memory, he stopped walking to crouch down and place his hand on the old road. It wasn't too clear of a spat, there were some cracks there, but it would do. He had his hand flat on the road. The area around his hand dissolved into sand very gently, as if it was making peace and returning to it's natural state. A light breeze began to carry it away to resemble the other potholes. Then placing down his left hand, he sent a shockwave through the rocky road. It didn't shake anything, but it created cracks that went un-naturally erratically.

He stood up and looked at Reine. His mouth opened with a slight grin. For a reason he could not identify, he was slightly happy. He then spoke, "Your turn." He wanted to see if she could do anything with the moister in the air more than anything. He had never seen a water elemental do their work. Now was his chance

((OOC: Don't expect to catch it, :D))

Mystro’s face seemed to be deep in thought for a moment before he obliged her subsequent request. The whole time, Reine was looking intently, getting more curious about him by the second. She remembered his words when she first approached him, and how anti-social he seemed to her. Why was he that way? Is there something more to him than meets the eye? The curiosity was overwhelming, but Mystro cut her off by starting to present his skills.

Easing himself into a crouch, he began by placing his hand flat on the road surface, creating a pothole similar to those she saw around the area. ‘Clearly, he does practice here’, she concluded in her mind as she watched Mystro bring down his left hand to send a sort of shockwave around his palm. There were no violent tremors, but various cracks began forming from around his palm, spreading out in an almost random manner.

Instinctively, Reine stepped back into a defensive posture, but relaxed immediately as soon as she realized there was no harm. It was a simple display of skills, but it did impress the Water Elemental, who had never seen an Earth Elemental before- her parents were an Air Elemental and Fire Elemental, and her relatives were all pure humans. “Impressive,” She exclaimed, clapping her hands while nodding, her long hair of jet black swaying as she did.

Mystro got up, turning to her with a slight grin. "Your turn,” He said.

Reine reacted with surprise at this, but recovered quickly enough. If she had asked for someone to do something, it is natural to expect the person to ask that of her, after all- or so she believes. Taking a step back, she looked upwards, and stuck out a tongue. “Good enough, I hope,” She mumbled, before looking at Mystro in the eye.

“Well, let it rain?”

The weather was rather humid, and that conveniently aided what Reine went on to do. Raising an arm, she closed her eyes to focus intensely on the water vapor around her. Packets of water began forming in the air, and as soon as she was ready, she released her hold over it momentarily, letting the water fall to the ground like a light drizzle. Stretching out a hand, she enjoyed her little effort as she kept her eyes fixated on Mystro.

What would he think about this? She wondered to herself, then wondered why she thought about that.

“There’ re more stuff I can do too,” She voluntarily added, halting the pseudo-drizzle to form the water into a baton.

“Maybe I should pass it over to you?” She said, and tossed the ‘baton’ over to Mystro.

The psychic turned to the young schoolgirl and smiled warmly, he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder and that's when she felt the spark.

"It's okay . . . I understand."

"Understand what?" Through the shuddering jolt in her brain, Asuka still managed to bite that out, surprisingly.

"What it's like," elusive and mysterious. The boy merely nodded.

It was like someone had jabbed their index finger into her mind and started rifling through her memories and shoving their own in to her head. Green grass . . . placating words . . . warm days . . . the smell of rain on the leaves . . . the stirring of wind . . . slight . . . the softness of love and light tinged eyes . . . white thin hair . . . tendrils . . . instantly Asuka stepped back and stared with her mouth agape. Had this weird kid just . . . of course he had read her mind! It was so invasive and calming and weird and just . . . out there. Really out there.

It's okay, ever since the treaty things have been harmonious . . . you're used to psychics and their powers hell . . . maybe knowing someone with that kinda power could be helpful, maybe--

"Asuka! Are you okay?" Jin huffed as Ren wiped the remnants of stringy cheese from his lips and fell into step with Aimi.

"I-I'm fine . . .," the boy was gone. Asuka hadn't even heard him walk off. Psychics . . . sure she knew about them . . . but what she knew was only so much. Her parents often told her that they could heal grief, transfer the torturous memories of someone's past into their mind and relive it as if the burden had always been their own. If that were true then . . .

"Guys, what do you know about psychics?" She asked them so suddenly that Ren almost choked on his tongue.

"What? First you walk out all dazed and crap and now you want to know about psychics? As a friend I gotta ask this, what the hell is up with you?" Jin frowned.

"Wait, let's just . . . let's just appease her. Shall we stop at the local library?"

"It's already getting late . . . tomorrow," Aimi advised, linking arms with her seemingly temporarily catatonic friend. The two boys nodded and walked back slowly to their respective residences.

Maybe . . . just maybe . . . Asuka could get rid of her guilt.

(OOC: GOD DAMN I LOVE THIS POST. Also, credit to Mr. Stephen King for the "I smell Remilia's lemonade line. I read it in one of his short stories recently. I loved it so much that I had to use it.)

Raistlin decided that they should in fact eat before they started any combat training. After he dug into Remilia's emotions like that, he believed she deserved an actual meal instead of a quickly ordered pizza. “Let's go to town. I'll take you out to eat at Shenanigans.” Shenanigans was a rather good restaurant. They served great burgers, good steaks, and shrimp. Raistlin loved shrimp. For Remilia the menu consisted of all of her favorite foods. Such as... About the entire menu. For a girl so small, Remilia sure could eat.

Deciding to walk rather than call a taxi, or to drive, the set off towards town. The walk was only about 20 minutes, and it wasn't too hot outside. Not only that, Raistlin much rather enjoyed walking. It cleared his mind, and it was more enjoyable to walk and talk, than it was to drive and talk.

“I'm not very good at this sort of thing... But, I'm so- I apol-” Raistlin was attempting to apologize, but he had a very hard time admitting he was wrong. “That's okay, Raist. It really is.” Remilia was happy that he was making an effort. “You know... You were right. There really wasn't much you could do for me about my Psychic powers. It was... Wrong of me to come to you.”

Raistlin just stayed silent. He did that often. Remilia on the other hand was more outspoken than he was. Whenever she was thinking about something, she had the habit of saying it out loud. That same habit was made fun of by Raistlin. “I don't see why a Psychic, a person that can read the minds of others, take joy in spilling out every thought in her head to me.”

Both Raistlin and Remilia could see the outskirts of the town up ahead. However, Remilia could... Feel... Something behind them both. She turned around and that's when she saw him. He was wearing some kind of strange outfit, and his head was cloaked. However, his hair was sticking out from the hood. It was white, the same shade of white as Raistlin's hair.

“Raistlin... There is someone following us.” Remilia didn't like this... Not at all. Not in the slightest. This man wanted to hurt them. That man wanted to do more than hurt them. Remilia was scared as she grabbed onto Raistlin's arm. Raistlin could feel her trembling as she clutched onto his arm for dear life. “We're going to turn into that alleyway. When we do, just run, and I'll hold him off.”

They walked to the alleyway and walked a little bit down it before they realized that it was a dead end. “Shit, turn around and just run. I'll hold him off.” However, standing in their way was the man that Remilia feared so much. “Please, Raistlin... Kill him, please?”

Raistlin knew something was wrong now. Remilia... Wanting Raistlin to kill something? That's the last thing he ever expected to hear from her mouth. Whispering in her ear, he told her to get back towards the wall. As Remilia ran towards the end of the alleyway, Raistlin turned to face the man that Remilia wanted dead.

“Okay, shit stick, you've picked the wrong people to mess with today.” Raistlin was quite full of himself until the man drew back his hood and spoke. “Oh, I have, have I? You're telling me that you aren't Mr. Dispidia and that isn't Ms. Scarlet back there? Just like your Mother... Arrogant until I beat her senseless. I just hope her moans of pleasure as I was inside of her are as good as that piece of ass back there.”

Raistlin never lost his composure, not once. However, at this point, even he was feeling a little scared. The man in front of him had strange marking on his forehead, and horns coming out of his head. The smirk on his face was very similar to the smirk Raistlin always had on his. Raistlin could hear faint sobbing in the corner of the alleyway. Remilia was clutching her head and crying. Raistlin could barely make out the words she was saying over and over again. “Make him go away, make him go away, make him go away.”

Raistlin couldn't take his eyes off the demon in front of him. He smiled at Raistlin, and Raistlin could see his teeth. They were stained red... Red with blood. “Remilia!” Raistlin yelled to her, “I'm blowing a hole in that wall behind you. RUN!” Turning around he did exactly what he said he was going to do. With a loud explosion, Raistlin tore a huge gaping hole in the wall that led into the building. Thankfully the building was empty. Remilia not missing a beat, took off running as Raistlin turned around.

Suddenly, that Demon was in his face, staring him right in his eyes. “You're too weak to be my son.” Raistlin didn't know what kind of mind game this fucker was playing, he wanted his head on a pike. Opening his mouth and breathing fire all over the Demon in front of him, Raistlin made sure he got in the first strike.

The flames went everywhere, covering the man completely. “Not so tough now, are you?” Raistlin boasted, only to have a hand thrust out of the fire and grasping Raistlin by the throat. “I'm a demon, you insignificant worm! I'm. From. Hell. Can you spit flames that are hotter than the flames of Hell?” Without even waiting for an answer, the Demon picked Raistlin up by the throat and slammed his head into the brick wall making up part of the alleyway. Then slammed his head into the opposite wall.

For what can only be described as “shit's and giggles” he took out a dagger from his coat, and stabbed Raistlin, his own son (though Raistlin had no idea) in the side. Raistlin was now half passed out, and bleeding out on the ground, blood covering the white hair and the face of Raistlin.

“Now, you stay here and I'll go get your little girlfriend. I'll show you how you treat a girl to a really fun time. Maybe I'll take off her head and she can watch as I violate her dead corpse!” The demon walked off into the hole that Raistlin made. “Oh, my name is Pharaun... Ask your mother about me, will you?”

Remilia had to run, run as fast as she could. She read every thought that man had. It was true... That... That... Thing was Raistlin's Father. The images of what he did to Raistin's Mother, Alyss... It was sick, it was disturbing, it wasn't humane. Then when he looked at her... The things he wanted to do to Remilia... Just the mere thought of it was enough to make her want to throw up.

She was running through an old storage room when she realized that she hit a dead end. There was a window above that led out to the street. She started moving old office room desks in front of it to climb up to the window. There were old rubber tires stored here as well. She placed 3 on top of the desks, and made her climb up towards the window.

However... She felt the man's hand on her ankle. Her ankle was exposed, and she felt his skin on hers, and she felt her emotions and thoughts run into him. He now knew things about her that she never wished anyone to know. He smiled that sickening grin and threw her against the wall.

Remilia, scared for her life, and now drained of any chance of defending herself was in tears. As the Demon drew closer to her, she wet herself in fear.

“Ruby, diamond, sapphire, jade... I smell Remilia's lemonade...” Pharaun chanted this... Over and over again in a high pitched voice. He squatted right next to her and smiled. “The fun I will have with you will be the greatest sex you've ever had.” Laughing at the top of his lungs, he reached out to grab Remilia's breast. “P-p-p-please stop...”

BASTARD, POMPOUS LITTLE PRICK!”

Remilia looked up to see a beaten, and battered Raistlin crash through the door and grab the Demon by the horn on his head. He then held the now surprised Demon's face to the rubber tires and set them on fire. “RUN, REMILIA, NOW!” Remilia did as she was told and ran. Using whatever little energy he had left he caused explosions all around and ran out of the door. It was more of a stumble than a run. Raistlin was about to pass out.

“Raistlin, what happened to you?!” Looking at his clothes he saw a huge hole on the right side of his chest. It looked as if something burned him. “I had to burn the wound closed. Remilia... Get me to a hospital. I'm going to have to lean on you for a bit.”

“But what about him?”
“He has melted rubber in his eyes, he won't be able to follow us for now.”

Remilia had never seen Raistlin covered in blood. She had never seen him beaten... As he leaned on her shoulder and was fading in and out of consciousness, they made it back to the street. Raistlin collapsed at this point, as Remilia started shouting out for help.

----------------------------------------

Pharaun screamed as the rubber burned his eyes. That bastard child of his would die... He would be sure of it. He wanted to make her suffer in front of the boy and kill them both as he did her corpse. He would have his revenge...

Lucius entered the males' bathroom, and, for the second time in an hour, looked at his reflection in the mirror. He had been cold with his sister. His mother would have been ashamed of him. But she was dead now, and he was alive, so what did it matter what Natasha would have thought. Why was he even thinking about it.

Slapping his left cheek with his left hand, he told himself to snap out of his stupor and get moving. There was no time for thought. Only action. It had already begun. The Treaty would be broken soon, and the oppressors would be driven out.

He could sense something happening across town. Violence. He would have to see to that at some point. Demons were not above the law.

Natasha wiped a tear that trickled down her cheek.

It had come out of nowhere. So why was she crying now? As she gazed around the room, she noticed that no one was looking in her direction. Thankfully, Sophia was entertaining the vast majority of homeroom with stories about her brother. An enormous pain wracked Natasha's mind, causing her to place her hands on her head and hold it. Sweat dripped down her forehead.

"Ow ... aaaahhh ..." she muttered painfully.

"Nat, you ok?" asked Sophia, who was there in seconds, strangely enough.

"Migraine," Natasha replied quickly. "I'll be fine in a minute."

Lying was an art that required much concentration and to never ever give away your true intentions. At least that's what Natasha would think. She lied that she was coping, that the first day of school was great so far, that she didn't care about Lucius coldly rejecting her like that. Truth betold, Natasha Remora was a nervous wreck. She could feel her world crumbling all around her. Having Fran and Sophia to support her just wasn't enough. There was one person she needed more than anyone, but ...

Erasing that person as the reason that caused the rift between herself and her twin brother, Natasha composed herself. She couldn't allow her emotions to pour out, not at least on the first day. That wouldn't have looked good. On top of everything else, she still had a soccer team to captain. The championships would be coming up pretty soon and they needed to be ready for absolutely anything.

But with everything still in motion, Natasha felt her mind was still locked in that bubble. Her head raged on with the pain, no matter how hard she tried to block it out. The sweat continued to pour down her forehead. She had no idea what was happening to her. She quickly took out her iPod, examining her face in the clear mirror. Natasha was paler than usual.

And with that, she stopped worrying about everything.

Somehow, possibly with the fact that she was psychic, Natasha sensed Lucius' presence. He was coming to homeroom after all now, was he? The rage she felt before was slowly resurfacing, but she would have to keep it at bay for now. And it appeared the rift would continue to be there for sometime. If he would be cold towards her, then so would she. She didn't have the time to be putting up with his mind games.

Mystro felt the moisture in the air begin to condense and thicken, almost as if he would have to swim through the air rather than walking in it A drizzle began falling from the sky. Mystro was no fan of water, but this was unique. In his life he NEVER met any other elementals other than his mother. This didn't seem to take much effort for her, which was a good sign. She was well practiced, and it showed. A grin shimmered on his face for a split second, and he hadn't even realized it until it had passed.

Suddenly in his head he began to think to himself, why did he just grin like that? He didn't like rain, but even still a smirk sparked on his face. He looked up to the sky with the light drizzle falling on his face. How in the world could he be so serene in such a moment.

But she did do what he wanted to see. She could utilize the moisture in the air, and also do it effortlessly. Then seeing a water made baton in her hand, he was surprised to see that. With earth it's easy to do that, since everything is generally made of a hard material that could easily be made into different shapes, but water? Odd and unique, and strangely he liked it.

She had tossed him the baton and he extended his arm to catch it just to have it splash out away from his hand. He had expected that but figured it was worth a shot to try.

He laughed slightly to say, "For once I'm slightly impre---" He was cut off by an explosion of fire coming from the closest building where they were. This was unexpected. Surprisingly there came two more people out of the building. Mystro didn't care to try helping them, but he did see something that peaked his interests. Once the male had collapsed, he heard the scream of another male, most likely older.

Motioning his head like he wanted Reine to follow him, he walked over to them. It had been a while since his last brawl and he was looking to pick a fight. These guys either played dirty or they also had powers. Using explosives would be kind of cheap, so he figured they had powers.

Approaching the girl that was with the passed out male, he said to her, "So who's the bad guy? I need entertaining." He had sent some of his energy into the ground within a 25 foot radius of him to get a chance to feel for the various minerals and stones under his feet. He could use them however he wanted, but he had to know what it was he was working with. Different materials can be used for different things. Now that he had the help of a water elemental if he asked, he could have her dissolve limestone from the ground that there was and use the heat from the fire to create sedimentary stone mixtures, but he didn't think it would come to that.

Instead, once he got a feel for the stones and dirt under his feet, he slammed his fist into the road, breaking it and cracking it down for a distance farther than he could see from the corner of his eyes, although if he looked directly at the cracks he probably could see it. Instead, his hand was embedded into the road. He pulled it out to reveal a seemingly stone glove with rough and slightly serrated edges along the knuckles and fingers.

This left a hole in the road, but it wasn't like he really cared. "Actually, that doesn't matter, if you were the bad guys, you'd lie anyway." He grabbed the young girls wrist and examined it. "You don't look like it'd be fun to fight you anyway. I like a good challenge, good or bad."

OOC: Ringo, I touched her wrist mainly to let her get a sense of his apethy for the world. She should feel that he has nothing good or bad in his head, just a good fight.

((OOC: Well, I made sure not to make any direct physical contact with Remilia, so Reine would relatively be clueless about the real threat.))

Reine giggled as she saw Mystro reach out for the baton. As it turned out, he was a better sport than she had expected, smiling instead to respond, "For once I'm slightly impre---"

He didn’t manage to finish his words, when a sudden bang cut him off. Reine swiftly turned about face, looking over to the building where the sound came from. At the closest building from their position, a hole in the wall had been formed, clearly by the explosion they heard. What really piqued her curiosity were the two people that emerged from the building, rather haphazardly too.

She didn’t need Mystro’s nod to go towards them to offer assistance. This clearly wasn’t anything good, and even though Reine had no reason to think that, she just felt it within her. Why would there be an explosion so suddenly? With an ominous foreboding, Reine followed Mystro closely, as they approached the other two.

"So who's the bad guy? I need entertaining."

Reine was somewhat spooked by those words, though, she did nothing to express her disapproval. Her attention was on the girl and the guy, who seemed to be rather dazed. Looking over to his chest, she saw the reason why. “Hey,” She began. “You’re hurt!”

She was about to take a step to help carry the guy, when Mystro spoke, "Actually, that doesn't matter, if you were the bad guys, you'd lie anyway."

Reine stopped right then, appalled by his words. "You don't look like it'd be fun to fight you anyway. I like a good challenge, good or bad."

Was a challenge all he sought? She could only wonder, as she frowned. How could he say that to someone who might actually be the victim? Villain or not, she didn’t really care. The sight of the wound was rather compelling. Walking in between Mystro and the girl with a rather dark expression, Reine pulled his hands away from the girl,” Damn, how insensitive can you get?!”

Looking at the girl, she quickly went over to the injured male, helping support him by his other shoulder. His blood on her clothing did little to deter her as she looked over to the girl.

Young and innocent. Certainly the best words she can think of when describing her first impression of the girl. And it only made her all the more sympathetic to her plight. There were tears trickling down her face, which prompted Reine to further encourage her as she began moving with the guy towards the nearest hospital which she remembered seeing on Google Maps on another separate occasion.

“Come on, let’s get him to safety first!”

Mystro had not realized that he had displeased his acquaintance so much. His facial expressions or thoughts did not change at all when she called him insensitive, he didn't really care what she had thought about him. He had no reason to care. But there was something that told him maybe he should have been a bit more kind about it.

"Come on, let's get him to safety first!" She shouted.

"Are you serious? How hard do you think it would be to carry another person while also running from someone who clearly wants to kill him?" Mystro couldn't help but scoff at this idea. "It wouldn't be. You go take them and I'll stay here. That way, I can at least give you time to get away. It's a win-win scenario here, I get my fight and they get saved."

He now just had to wait for them to get out of there and for his to-be-foe to get out of the building. He had nothing to lose.

But something was getting extremely odd. When he touched her wrist, he could feel everything she was feeling. She was scared, she was terrified, and above all, she was was in the kind of pain you can only feel when a loved one is tp perish. But he was feeling them. Why was he feeling it? Did it have something to do with him touching her wrist? Whatever it was, he now felt as though he had to kill him just to make peace with himself.

Raistlin was almost completely out of it. However, around him he could hear Remilia screaming for help, and two other people showing up. At this point, he was so exhausted he could hardly give a care in the world. He just wanted Remilia out of here.

Remilia felt the touch of the man in front of her. He had gotten a full whiff of her emotions and her thoughts. So now he should have been aware of what he was dealing with. “You don't look like it'd be fun to fight you anyway. I like a good challenge, good or bad.” The man said to Remilia. Even though she couldn't see why anyone would want to fight that thing back there, she was just happy that she could get Raistlin to safety without having to worry about getting... She didn't want to think about what the demon would do to her if she was caught.

Then, much to Remilia's surprise, a girl showed up. Remilia had taken notice of her appearance. The girl with the black hair then shouted at the sight of Raistlin, “Come on, let's get him to safety first!

Remilia nodded her head, cleared the tears from her eyes and started helping the girl drag him to the hospital. “Please, be careful. He had to burn that wound closed to save me.”

Pharaun was beyond angry as he came out of the hole in the wall. Upon arriving back at the alleyway, he noticed two newcomers. A boy who appeared to have a rock for a hand and another girl dragging the boy and his girl away. “That girl over there is mine. You have one chance to stand down before I tear the flesh from your bones and enjoy a nice tasty meal.”

Pharaun started blowing up the walls around him. There were no explosions, for he wasn't a fire elemental, he was simply breaking them down on a molecular level, causing them to shatter in an explosive fashion.

From seemingly nowhere, he pulled out a huge spear like object as his weapon. “Well? What's it going to be, Rocky?”, Pharaun asked, then switched to a shrill high pitched scream, “SUBMIT OR DIE!”

OOC: Perfect :ryan: You made plenty of dust available for my use :wacky:

"Rocky? I think you should know the name of your killer. Mystro Kazuki." He was intimidated, but not scared. The fact that he pulled a spear from nowhere was odd, but it could mean several things. Not to mention the decomposition of the walls. Horns on his head. Whatever. "Glad to see your voice is finally beginning to crack." Mystro said to make a shot at the changing in pitch of his foes voice.

Dust...I might be able to use the debris. Mystro posed defensively and ready for action. He never under-estimated people, he only believed in going all out. He had to kill him. For that girl. But he knew now that this man deserved no words from what he felt. Despite it not being his own emotions, he couldn't help but let a tear roll down his cheek. He wiped it away on his sleeve and reminded himself it was not his tear.

Figures, the first time he feels emotions in a long time they're not his and they happen to be bad. They were potent in his mind. Without realizing, some words slipped out his mouth, "I have to kill you." These words were filled with the hate that the girl earlier had within her. The hate for this being.

He began gathering dust in his clothing, so to anyone around him it would look like he was sucking the dust inside of him like a human vacuum. It was hard for him to utilize debris, but he would do what he could. It might save his life.

Rocky? I think you should know the name of your killer. Mystro Kazuki.” Quite the pompous little prick, that one. “Glad to see your voice is beginning to crack.” An obvious attempt at an insult, thought Pharaun as he notcied a tear rolling down the young boys face. “My killer? You?!” Pharaun roared into a fit of laughter. “I'd like to think that my killer wouldn't cry like a little bitch right before battle!” Pharaun just thought that was the neatest little thing. A mere boy threatening to kill him, then crying on the battlefield!

Pharaun barely made out the boy say, “I have to kill you” as Pharaun laughed at the top of his lungs.

“Fine then, Mr. Kazuki. How about I let you watch as a rape that girl back there before I take out your eyes and eat them? Think of it as a reward for making me laugh like that. I haven't laughed that hard since I convinced Hitler that Jews were out to take over the world.”

Pharaun lifted his spear in his right hand and with his left he created portals on the now decimated walls of the alleyway. The portals were red, bright red, and if one were to gaze inside them they would only see eyes looking out at them. Pharaun could use these to maneuver in combat easily, or to escape if need be. No one else could use them but Pharaun, which made it all the more better. With the tiny alley they were in, he set 5 on each wall lining the alleyway with the portals. There were surrounded by them.

“As stupid as the boy back there was, he was smart enough to burn his own wounds closed... I don't think you have that same ability.” Pharaun commented, then changed his voice down very deep. “Here at Pharaun's Warehouse, you're going to like the way you die, I guarantee it.” And with that, he thrust his spear into a portal and had it exit the one closest to the boy in front of him, it was aimed as his neck.

((OOC: Thus begin the disadvantaged two-way battle…))

Reine had to agree with Mystro, despite her displeasure. If there was really a killer coming after the two, how were they going to escape without being pursued? Perhaps it might be best to overpower the assailant before running, but looking at the guy, Reine could only think that It was of a greater priority to take him away. Though, she did also wonder how exactly such a grievous wound would be inflicted on him by an ordinary human.

As it turned out, the attacker was indeed no human. Stepping out from a gaping hole in the building, Reine set her eyes on him, or rather, it. It had horns on its head, and was dressed in a rather strange fashion too. However, despite his unappealing fashion sense, Reine could not bring herself to openly insult him. Her heart was thumping violently against her chest. This was not one to be messed with, and she could already feel it just by his presence.

This was a demon. To think she had only seen it in rough drawings that her parents had made! Seeing one in person was a lot scarier than she had expected. Unintentionally, she tightened her grip on the arms of the guy she was supporting, and harder as the demon summoned a spear from nonexistence. She gritted her teeth as she thought,’ Why am I so afraid?’

To think, too, that she had once visualized herself fighting all sorts of monstrosities with her water skills! In fact, just to complement that fantasy, she invented several offensive water techniques, and even some for a combined technique with her fantasy’s Mr. Right.

Mystro, however, seemed rather courageous, making an attempt at taunting the demon.

"I have to kill you."

The demon scoffed at this comment. Reine herself was shocked by his words as well, though she felt no urge to repudiate it. This demon surely deserved death, or rather; death might be the only way to permanently stop him from coming back.

“Fine then, Mr. Kazuki. How about I let you watch as a rape that girl back there before I take out your eyes and eat them? Think of it as a reward for making me laugh like that. I haven't laughed that hard since I convinced Hitler that Jews were out to take over the world.”

“What,” She hissed under her breath. Hitler was actually instigated by this demon before her? She couldn’t believe those words, having learned about history, and about Hitler’s atrocities. She had thought he was just influenced by the bad judgment that the Jews, who were then in power in Germany, made that also caused Germany to suffer a major defeat. To think it was the work of this demon?! She was horrified.

But the horror has not stopped coming forth, as the demon lifted his spear. Several portals surrounding the group formed instantly, and looking at these portals only made Reine’s heart beat even harder and faster. Looking out from the portals were eyes that were only worsening the terror that Reine was experiencing. This was getting way too out of hand for the girl, having encountered a demon for the first time, but she did a fine job at keeping calm. Her face, however, was calm, but her habit of gritting her teeth gave away her fear.

“As stupid as the boy back there was, he was smart enough to burn his own wounds closed... I don't think you have that same ability. Here at Pharaun's Warehouse, you're going to like the way you die, I guarantee it.”

Then, the demon tossed his spear into one of the portals. Surprised by this sudden move, Reine instinctively gathered as much of the moisture in the air around her. The water took a form of an oriental dragon, circling around the girl, and the other two, with its snake-like body. Incidentally, in front of her, where Mystro stood, she noticed the spear emerging from the portal.

Without hesitation, she sent the water dragon towards the spear, effectively altering the trajectory of the spear. Then, she quickly hissed over to the girl, Remilia,” Hey, try and find a way to get out of here…”

Remembering the fact that the portals surrounded them, Reine quickly added softly to make sure the demon couldn’t catch a word she said,” Or just stay here and let us finish this…”

There was no confidence in those words, only fear. Yet, she said it anyway, hoping that the words and not her tone would be what Remilia heard.

(OOC: Pharaun giving Raistlin a concussion is going to make Raistlin a bit... Loopy in the next few posts. :wacky:)

Pharaun was more than angry that he was now dealing with another elemental. He had dealt with Fire, now he had to deal with Earth and Water as well. He brought his spear back through the portal and set it to his side. Without any prior warning, he threw the spear directly at the boy, Mystro, while Pharaun jumped in one of his portals to jump out of the one next to him. He was now directly beside Mystro, and Pharaun had his clawed right hand out to slash the back of him, while his spear was still on its way.

Remilia watched as the girl, Reine created what seemed to be a dragon made of water at the spear that Pharaun had created from nothing. “Hey, try and find a way to get out of here... or just stay here and let us finish this...”

Remilia merely nodded before she was interrupted by a very angry Raistlin, “Remilia, you run, I'm not letting that bastard anywhere near you, wounded or not.” Raistlin stood up on his own, blood still dripping from his face, his side stinging and still burning from him burning the wound closed. “No, I'm going to help too. I can use my ability to throw things.” Remilia was getting tired of being helpless. She was going to help too, even if she was scared out of her mind.

“Fine, have it your way.”, Raistlin said as he noticed the spear now flying at the kid with the... Stone hands? Then he noticed Pharaun come out of one of the portals to attack the kid from behind. Not only would he have to dodge the spear, but avoid those claws of Pharaun's.

“We have to lure them out into the open. We all can't fight in that alleyway. An explosion would only hurt both of them at that range. You, water girl, I don't know your name so I'm calling you that until I do. Once the fight gets to the street, flank his left, I'll flank his right. Remilia, on the other side of the street is a dumpster, you're a Psychic, pick it up and throw it when you see an opening. Just remember, he's more after you than he is the rest of us,” Raistlin now strangely smiled, “I don't blame him.”

Remilia was shocked. Raistlin had to have some kind of concussion... Because she was sure he just called Remilia pretty. That's the last thing Raistlin would have done. She did was she was told and backed to the other side of the street, ready to pick up the dumpster with her mind and throw it if need be.

Raistlin, left alone with the girl who controlled water, looked to her and said, “May the Force be with you.” Raistlin was pretty sure he had a concussion. He was too much in a good mood at too much at an inappropriate time to be... So thrilled and... Happy.

Out of nowhere a water figure came through to his side. Why? Oh...There was a spear there. To Mystro, the worst that could happen would be that he could use the dust collected to create an armor like layer within his clothing made from the very particles that he had captured. It all happened so fast he didn't even realize the demon had sent his spear through portal. When did that happen? He was lucky. "Thanks" He shouted back. He saw that the male was up again. No way, was he really able to get back up? Turning his attention back to the fight at hand, he saw a spear flying towards him.

His nice canvas converse ripped open to reveal that he had also collected the stone from under his feet through the souls of his shoes, so now it was as if he was wearing stone shoes, but since they were thicker than his previous shoes, those ripped right apart. Using his stone 'gloves' to catch the spear, it turned out that it was thrown at such a velocity it slid despite the stone, scraping it to his skin. But it stopped before making contact. What power he must have had to throw that hard, so hard to break stone that was slightly serrated.

Fortunate for him, his technique of hardening materials and compressing small particles slowed down the beings claws a bit, that he had no idea was even coming from him. Although his foe managed to break through the stone armor-like technique, it did manage to slow down the blow and weaken the effect. It instead cut his side, not deep enough to be lethal, but still a tad too deep for comfort.

"GAGH!" He let out as his reflexes jolted him forward and to the left. If he hadn't have moved his middle section to catch the spear, he probably would have been hit directly in the spinal cord, essentially paralyzing him.

Then Mystro had an idea. Water itself did not conduct electricity, it was the ions inside of it. Since the water elemental was capable of condensing water from the moister in the air, that was obviously distilled water, but if Mystro could bring the salts from the ground up, it was possible to create water that could conduct a fair amount of electricity. So he began to gather salts and other like products. Speaking his plan would have spoiled what he wanted to do, and telling his enemy was probably the stupidest thing to do. But if he could get the water elemental to connect two working wires from the many holes in the wall, and connect the demon to that very water stream as well, then he could possibly get the demon shocked a good amount.

But first he had to collect sufficient salts. There was also a good amount of quartz in the ground under him, and he just might be able to get to it. But it was unlikely.

OOC: Sorry, if my post seems half-assed or something but I just came back from my two-day orientation at my college so . . . yeah. Lol. I'm still gaining back some energy, I did a lot there, lol.

There it was--the shuddering implosion of shattered rocks and tumbling rubble. Asuka breathed out harshly through her lips and bit them so much that they bruised a mottled violet by the time she jogged over to the sources of the noise. Jin accompanied her because "someone had to keep an eye on her, shoot." Smoothing out the wrinkles in her skirt, a nervous idiosyncrasy of hers, Asuka knelt down, pressing her back into the wall of one of the buildings a few steps away from the accident. The first peculiar thing or person rather, if the humanoid man could even be considered a human, that Asuka noted was a horned tall impressionable man. He looked to be arrogant, as if he truly believed he could rotate the Earth with a flick of his hand. He looked and sounded like a cocky mad bastard. Confronting him was a young teenage boy with his eager female companion, she was dark-haired like Asuka and possibly twice as bubbly. But the weirdest thing were the six or so portals, these rippling holes of pure molecular energy, compressing the time and space around them. Jin widened his eyes in alarm and disbelief as he watched the confrontational fight emerge before his eyes.

Cradled in the safety of a young bespectacled girl's arms was a bloodied white haired youth. Oddly enough the boy who was starting to flutter his eyelids open had the same hue of hair as the human thing standing before these other kids.

"We have to get the hell out of here," Jin hissed urgently, tugging on Asuka's little wrist until she was forced to slap his hand away. The way OUT was pass this damned alleyway they were in and to round the corner would mean being detected by these people. The dark haired girl was currently manipulating the very moisture in the air. There was the after scent of freshly drizzled rain and the few moist droplets floatng gently on the air currents were brought together to form an increasing water dragon, serpentine in design. Asuka was in awe, mouth hanging open until she was certain drool would issue out. The boy in the other girl's arms, Remilia was her name apparently, had come to. A javelin came whistling through the air, the action being way too fast for Asuka and Jin to keep up with. Whoever these kids were, they didn't seem to be entirely human. The dark haired unnamed girl was an elemental, she apparently could control water as she saw fit. Her dark haired male friend was burying his fists into the ground and HE was the reason that the earth had shuddered beneath Asuka's feet as she braced herself against the walls with Jin supporting her by holding her arm. The spear, having been refracted by the whipping motion of the water dragon, had narrowly missed impaling the earth elemental in his midsection.

"Where the hell did that spear come from?" Jin asked, it had to be noted that they were far enough away, safely enough, where they could barely make out what was being said. From their vantage points, the feuding people looked like ants and they wanted to stay safely hidden just like that.

"Where the hell did that demon thing come from, oh my God he's going to rend that kid to pieces!" Asuka bit out in worriment, clutching Jin's shirt distractedly. If he blushed (which he had) than she didn't pay any heed to it. The Earth elemental kid dodged just in time to avoid the ripping bite of the claws.

"We have to get the hell out of here, we can't stay here and risk getting killed, Asuka."

"But . . . ," there they were, those children: a bespectacled girl smiling with watery tear-filled eyes, happy to see her friend coming around. He was barely able to stand with the messily closed wound in his side, sealed by a peeled and burned flap of flesh. The earth elemental with dewy mist raining down upon his form, shuddering with the sheer strength of his magic. His feet and hands were buried in pounds of stone. The water elemental girl manipulating a water dragon to her best ability: fluid and well controlled. Asuka was too amazed by what she saw to move; she'd never witnessed this much magical power pouring out so much in her entire life. It was inspiring, terrifying, and hypnoptic. She couldn't tear her eyes away, no matter how insistent her impatient friend was. Aimi and Ren had left a while ago, departed to the other side, because they lived further up on the other side. Asuka distantly wondered if they heard the impact from earlier---the quaking of the angry earth . . .
