[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Lan Ester

"As for your previous question, wouldn't it be better if we would negotiate? I have no desire to intentionally attack someone without good reason or unless I am ordered to."

Lan took the claws off while showing his hands.

"There, it's off. Now I have a few questions to ask. Who is the person that you came with, where is the location of the infiltration mission that is going to take place, what is the objective of the missions, why is Oeilvert going after the elemental mirrors, and most importantly what is on Terra that Oeilvert wants?" Lan listed off watching Brandish through the cloth tied around his eyes.

------
Remilia Oveilia

Remilia shrugged as she watched Twin Swords rush off. Smiling a bit as she looked over to the Burmecian Knight, the summoner walked over to him.

"Is it really that complicated with those two and man in question? What is your name anyways?" Remilia asked as Cerberus walked up behind Remilia and started to nudge her with one of the three heads.

"There there Cerberus. I'll let you go home now." Remilia muttered as the three headed dog faded from existence.

"Well I suppose there's no better alternative at this point" Ricard followed behind Annelise back towards the castle, feeling his clothes begin to stick to his skin he rushed his walking pace "Dammit, not again, can't wait till we're out of here" folding his arms he tried to conserve what heat he could while they made their way further inside. "They better have a fire somewhere, i'll need it, i'm not going out of commision again when I just got better"

-----------------------------------------------

Listening to Robert scolding her, Lucia just waved his voice away "C'mon, you can't tell me this isn't fun, watching the pair compete for him, a little antagonising keeps it interesting, like i'd pass that opportunity up" Lucia then turned her head back to the two young ladies before turning her attention to the summoner "If Twin Sword is busy tonight, i'm always available, cutie" with that said she walked off, feeling rather fulfilled having stirred things up a little more.

Stephen looked deep into Valefor's eyes as the creature stared almost as to ask "what is it you wish of me" Stephen sighed and looked around, "well hopefully nobody has seen you, or i might get accused of being somebody im not, you are dismissed until you are needed my friend, for now you rest" Stephen explain with a small smirk on his face, it was almost as though the man was pleased to see the large birdlike creature. Valefor nodded at Stephen's statement and with one flap of it's spectacular wings took flight before heading into the Clouds and vanishing with a purple flash.

Stephen looked to Buremacia, "I wonder how the others are doing" he muttered as he placed a hand on his head "and how long was i out, Buremacia looks like Alexandria did after the battle with Bahamut." Stephen muttered as he rubbed his eyes and then headed back towards the city.

Gladly the cities continuous rain woke Stephen up as he reached the gates, he still felt slightly groggy from his overly long nap. Striding through the city he looked around to see if anybody required help, sadly there wasn't much he could do as he was a Black mage, not a white mage, and his only real talent was his fire magic, which with the cities current state would probably only cause more harm than it would good.

Striding through the streets Stephen kept an eye out, not only for people in distress, but for Anne, Robert, that Lan chap, or any of the group who came back from the Alexandrian destroyed Airship that's wreckage currently lay waste to a beautiful mountainside. After a while looking around the city, Stephen gave up, and headed towards the castle to wait and hope at the front gate that Anne would show up and recognise him, and allow him to join them in what they were planning next.

Robert Crescent

"It was fun to a point, but now it's just getting annoying. Annelise is my friend, and even though it's entertaining to rag on her every now and then, even I know when enough is enough." Robert replied before looking over to the summoner. "I really don't know how complicated things are with them. But anyways my name is Robert Crescent. Pleasure to meet you." He spoke with a calm and polite tone of voice.

As he passed through the streets, he saw one of the other Alexandrian airship survivors. Robert waved a hand at him. "Hey! Over here!" he called out. "You missed out on the fun. Where have you been?" Robert asked.

Alleria sighed quietly as she followed behind the group that appeared to be headed towards the castle. She folded her arms, glancing about at the state of the city. That bombardment did it's fair share of damage, yet the city looked well enough. There were the occasional casualties - which made Alleria avert her gaze - but it was just part and parcel of war.

Glancing back at the group, which seemed to be engaged in a conversation of some kind, she sighed again. This felt like Ipsen Knight training all over again, where her skill and reputation deterred many from approaching her for reasons other than dueling. There was no one approaching her, though this time, probably because she was the one out of place.

A lone Ipsen Knight amidst the Burmercians, the Alexandrians... She held herself back from thinking more about it.

And there's still the duel that I hope to have with some of them, Alleria thought to herself. As if on cue, a detachment of Dragon Knights led some prisoners of the last battle towards the castle. It might be to imprison them in the castle's dungeon, but it also reminded Alleria about the series of events.

It probably won't be anytime soon, at this rate.

~~~~~
Garnet stares quietly out of the window. The skies above Alexandria were overcast, much like the journey to Lindblum from back then. That was when her mother summoned Atomos to devastate the city. Relieving that memory brought up fear of a recurrence, with the current state of events. It also brought up her love for her mother, who later died when Kuja destroyed her fleet by turning Bahamut against her.
That, and also...
"Dagger?"
... Zidane. Turning to look over to her love, she smiled pleasantly. It was into his embrace that she ran during that time. It was with him that she survived the ordeal back then. Many decisions were made, and they stemmed from him. Zidane walks towards Garnet, his expression amused.
"Thinking so hard about state affairs?"
That made Garnet chuckle,"A little."
She wasn't, but that was her usual response.
Zidane takes a seat, looking over to Garnet, who turns to meet his eye. For a brief moment, they held that gaze, until Zidane turned away to stare out at the sky.
"Heard about Burmercia?"
"Yes. I wonder how is Freya doing right now."
"Don't worry, she can hold her own. I'm more worried about what it means for the rest of the continent."
Garnet remains silent. He was right. She couldn't help feeling ill at ease now, realizing that things may not settle down as easily as she had hoped it would. Nevertheless, the only thing she could do was wait.
Stephen waited at the castle for what felt like an eternity before he saw Robert wave a hand and shout him over, as he jogged over he heard him ask where he had been, placing his right hand on his left shoulder Stephen looked at him, let out a chuckle and an "I over slept" before releasing his shoulder and striding with them. "so where are we heading next?" Stephen asked with curiosity in his voice, hoping that it wouldn't be a difficult mission as Stephen could feel Valefor was getting uneasy, it was clear to Stephen that the Eidolin wanted some action, and Stephen would only use him if the need was great enough.
OOC: Sorry for the short post folks, not very inspired.
Popo's Heights: Mutatsu's Shack
“Must be pretty hungry after everything that happened today. Eat up.”
Taken aback, Noah rises and sits up from the floor and opens the pot to welcome the sweet aroma of rice and beef stew. Joining him at the table, Mutatsu serves a plate of food to Noah and himself. Softly smiling and nodding in approval, Mutatsu encourages him to dig in.
Finally relaxing his guard and listening to a growling stomach, Noah accepts the gesture with due gratitude.
“Thank you...?”
“Mutatsu.”
“Noah. Nice to meet you.”
The sound of chewing and bowls were the only thing that came from the two for a while before Noah put down his plate for a moment and opened his mouth to speak. Noticing this, Mutatsu also put down his food to open his ears.
“Something wrong with the food?”
“Not at all, it's delicious. But...”
Noah's facial features changed into a pensive, thoughtful outlook.
“Why were you out there, in Cleyra? And more importantly, why did you save me?”
“Perceptive aren't you? Anyway, I was just traveling through the area when I witnessed the events that transpired there. As to why I chose to save you; it's simple to say that it's my way of atoning for a foolish mistake in my youth. There's something special about that zeal you have Noah.”
Taking all this information in, his stone cold expression remained unchanged.
“Tell me something. Why do you fight?”
Caught off guard by the question, Noah pondered and answer before speaking.
“I fight for the acceptance of my peers for being a lower class citizen.”
Acknowledging the answer, Mutatsu retorted with another question.
“And what then?”
“Then, I'll gain the respect of those who previously though lesser of me.”
“What would you be willing to sacrifice for your endeavor?”
“Anything that I have to.”
“So if you were to have to turn on your allies, you would go about it?”
“Yes.”
Mutatsu frowned, pushing his left hand through his hair and letting out a small sigh.
“You remind me of myself when I was younger. That's a fools gambit.”
“Any why is that? They would do the same to me.”
“You underestimate the power of friendship and camaraderie. It's the only thing that gets us through the day and our most difficult tribulations.“
Noah had a hard time understanding this concept. This was because he never had a friend he could call close. All he ever had was his brother and himself, and his brother was gone from the picture a long time ago.
“Realize that we as people are not infallible. Any one that acts as such is doomed for failure. I made a promise to a friend, Kyohei, that I would teach a youth the ways of the shinobi. This person would not only have access to new found strength, but a sense of honor.”
“And with this strength, I would be able to stand against any adverse circumstance that comes my way?”
“Only if you maintain a clear conscious and a willingness to grow.”
Getting up and walking towards the door of the shack, Mutatsu points to a neat pile of clothes. A set of traditional Ninja attire was not too far from Noah's resting area.
“When you're ready, meet me outside.”
Noah gets up from the floor and looks in Mutatsu's direction before he headed outside.
“Wait! You spoke of your friend, Kyohei. Where is this friend now?”
Chuckling under his breath Mutatsu opened the door and traveled to the cliff heights outside.
“She's among the land of eternal slumber now. Thank an aging fool for a life left unfulfilled.”
(OOC: Fairly wordy, but need to establish a connection between the characters. Sorry XD)
Burmecia Castle
Whilst on his way to the Castle he see's the group of people a few he saw the other day,it look's like they're talking about something,Curious Aaron walk's over to the group and look's at the young Burmecian Knight.
Aaron:Hello,Everyone what's going on?Something happening again?
He Smile's at the group trying to be friendly,and wait's for their responce
((OOC:Figure this is about the time we're all supposed to move on so may as well join the group asap =D))
Annelise Steiner & The Twinsword
Amid complaints from Ricard about the rain, they finally entered the shelter and safety of the castle. To be fair, even Anne was getting tired of the rain soaking her armor and her clothes underneath, but she did it for the people of Burmecia and for Alexandria, it was something Garnet would've wanted her to do.
*Pant, Pant* "I've...finally caught up to you two!!!"
Anne turned around to see the Twinsword, trying to catch her breath. "I knew it!!! You were trying to make him fall in love with you?"
"What are you talking about? I'm just trying to bring Ricard to shelter."
"Says you, I almost thought Robert was right but now I see better.
----
The Brandish
"There, it's off. Now I have a few questions to ask. Who is the person that you came with, where is the location of the infiltration mission that is going to take place, what is the objective of the missions, why is Oeilvert going after the elemental mirrors, and most importantly what is on Terra that Oeilvert wants?"
"Whoa, slow down..."
The Brandish smiled at the somewhat eager attitude that the Genome had. "That same kind of eagerness that I saw in...it's best not to think about it now." She removed her sword from her sheath and placed in a corner in the room, before walking towards another corner.
"My comrade that I have came with is another of the Six Lord-Generals, the Ninja. He doesn't talk much, but he is an overall good person, if you consider citizens of Oeilvert good people..."
Turning away from Lan, the Brandish continued. "As for our mission, we'll be headed to Lindblum, our objective is to retrieve the Fire Elemental Mirror, which is what Cyril needs to reach the 'Promised Land.' Hopefully, by telling you this, you could warn anyone on the opposing side to evacuate the civilians. Besides, while the operation is set in two days, I'm arriving early to witness the Festival of the Hunt. If my student is going there as well, I may see her in action."
The Brandish continued, "As for their use, it is not as most people intended, a gateway to Terra. Ever since Terra's destruction, the pathway between the two worlds have been sealed permanently. But I assume, and this is only a guess,that Gaia is still tied to Terra somehow."
----
The Pirate and King Puck
"What do you mean connected?"
The King said, hearing the same deal that the Brandish said to Lan from the Pirate.
"Now, now...I'm only saying what I know."
Puck, believing that the Pirate is not being fully truthful yet could possibly be useful to get more information, says simply. "Guards, send the Pirate to the dungeon." Once that matter was taken care of, Puck turned towards Fratley. "For now, we'll keep the mirrors in Burmecia until Cleyra is liberated. In the meantime, we will need to speak directly with Regent Cid and Queen Garnet on the matter. Please call in Sir Robert and his comrades."
Robert Crescent
Freya Crescent
Sir Fratley
Robert shook his head at Twinswords' accusation. "You're really going to believe that nonsense the girl was spouting? This is turning out to be like Othello by Lord Avalon. A jealous man seeds an idea into the general's mind, and since the general deep down feels that way, he believes it instead of seeing the truth and ends up killing his other friend and wife because believed they were cheating on him." Robert spoke, crossing his arms across his chest. "Anyways Annelise, my house isn't far from here. we can set him up in the living room." he replied before motioning for the others to follow him to his parents' home.
*************
"Yes your majesty." Freya spoke as the guards led Pirate to the dungeons. Fratley had already searched the man when he was unconscious and confiscated the Pirate's weapons.
"With your leave, your majesty, I'd like to place the mirror with the other one." Fratley would speak once the Pirate was removed fully from the room.
Freya would head into the castle lobby, only to find that Robert and the others weren't there. "Great. Now I have to track them down." she said, shrugging her shoulders a bit. She headed out of the castle and began to search for places Robert could have possibly gone. Her first guess would be to their home. If not there, probably the Phoenix Tavern where his sister worked, or the Crescent Smithy and Synth shop that Robert's borthers ran.
Lan Ester
Lan memorized everything of importance as Brandish spoke. But, while Brandish spoke, it hit him that a few questions stood out that needed answering on the spot.
"I got two questions now. One, what is your student's name that you are hoping to see in the Festival of the Hunt. The second is why tell me everything? It almost sounds like you want Oeilvert to lose. That is not something a general would wish for." Lan muttered as he eyed Brandish's sword and also took note of it before returning his gaze back to the armored knight.
-------
Remilia Oveilia
"Robert. Nice to meet you too." Remilia smiled as she watched the Burmecian walk away. It was then that she noticed a lone Genome. It wasn't the perverted Genome before, but a different one, an armored female. Smiling a bit, Remilia walked over to her.
"What got you all upset?" Remilia asked as she placed one arm on the lone female genome's shoulders while using her staff as a third leg.
Listening to, somewhat unwillingly to Annelise and Twin Sword argue Ricard sighed and walked past him "when you're done i'm going to look for somewhere warm" Ricard then made his way back to the city, looking for any buildings that hadn't been ripped apart when he felt a sudden dull push into his back as Twin Sword's arms wrapped around his waist "I'll keep you warm" gently she pushed her head into his chest, walking with him around the city, much to Ricard's displeasure. Too tired to complain he tolerated it till they found a house that retained it's appearance throughout the raid and sat down to rest, Twin Sword still attached to him though now sat on his lap, seemingly falling asleep in his chest.
-----------------------------------
"Well things just got boring..." Lucia walked off past the group and into the main town, letting the rain drop on the top of her hood. Folding her arms she looked up to the sky as she walked to the front of the town "you'd never think there'd been bloodshed only a short time ago"
Looking forwards she could barely see Gizamaluke's Grotto in the distance "now I wonder what will happen tomorrow?"
Annelise Steiner
"Anyways Annelise, my house isn't far from here. we can set him up in the living room."
"Well that depends on if Twinsword would let Ricard rest there."
Anne said after he moved with her to the castle. "But I suppose we all should get some rest, tomorrow's another day, right?" She smiled, after all that happened, they know that they've done good. "Lead the way Robert."
The Brandish
"I got two questions now. One, what is your student's name that you are hoping to see in the Festival of the Hunt. The second is why tell me everything? It almost sounds like you want Oeilvert to lose. That is not something a general would wish for."
The Brandish said with scorn on her face. "Maybe so, however..." The Brandish closed her eyes, "I blame myself for why Cyril is acting this way, and I'm doing what I can, not only to save the Oeilvert, and the world, but maybe to save him from himself. That's all I have to say on that matter."
Moving over to her sword, she lifted the heavy claymore at hand, lifting it and pointing Antares straight up into the air. She then put her hand on the dull end of the blade before placing her head against Antare's flat end.
Placing the sword back in its sheath on her back, she turned towards the boy. "As for the identity of my student, she is a member of the Blue Winged Knights of Alexandria, a Lieutenant by the name of Annelise Steiner."
Lan Ester
"As for the identity of my student, she is a member of the Blue Winged Knights of Alexandria, a Lieutenant by the name of Annelise Steiner."
"Annelise Steiner? Anne? Well well well. This is even more interesting. I wonder how she feels to be trained by an enemy general? In any case, I'll be heading on forward. If I'm going to have any impact here, I might as well be at the peak of it all." Lan muttered as he turned around and left the house.
Once outside, Lan made a beeline to the chocobo stables where he saw a moogle hanging around.
"Hey there. Can you send two letters for me. One heads to lindburg and the other goes to a girl named Annelise." Lan muttered.
"Kupo, I can. What do you want me to write down?" the moogle asked.
"Ok letter to lindburg. Warning, increase guards for immanent infiltration. Information has been verified and found credible. Guard the Fire Elemental Mirror. If possible, get the mirror out of Lindburg. Two Lord Generals is spearheading the mission." Lan muttered as the moogle finished writing what Lan said.
"The second letter?" the moogle asked.
"Ok Second letter. Annelise, get everyone to lindburg now! Just found out that two lord generals is on their way there for an infiltration mission. The mission will start in two days. The lord general's name is Ninja and Brandish. Ninja is a ninja. So expect him to attack with your guards down. Brandish is a knight. But she currently has second thoughts about the war. All in all, that is all six lord generals accounted for. Festival of the Hunt will be happening at lindburg as well. Also, this may sound wierd, but who trained you to become a knight?" Lan muttered as the moogle finished writing.
"All done. Kupo." the moogle said.
"Good job. Now hurry. Get another moogle to take the lindburg letter there. That is top priority." Lan muttered.
"Ok kupo." the moogle said as it started flying off towards Burmecia.
"Now. Let's hope the messages get there on time. I need to get to Lindburg myself. So I'll go with Brandish." Lan muttered as he watched the moogle fly off.
"Well that depends on if Twinsword would let Ricard rest there. But I suppose we all should get some rest, tomorrow's another day, right? Lead the way Robert."
"Hmm. I wanna see the house. Besides, I wanna see lil sis Anne get some sleep." Remilia said as she walked up to Anne and placed said girl in a vice grip hug while smiling.
Aaron Sohm
Burmecia
"Well things just got boring..."
Aaron:Hey wait up!!
Run's after the girl who seem's to be bored,and catches up to her.
Aaron:Would you perfer another battle?It's best to enjoy boring stuff when possible heh.
He walk's alongside her hopeing to make friends with one of this group to make it a little easier to work with them.
Aaron:Anyway,I'd like to make friend's with some of the group here figure you'd be a better start since your a Genome as well..Course that's up to you..
((OOC:Figure this would be a good time to make friend's with Lucia XD))
"What a strange guy you are" Lucia turned to face the man, still with her arms crossed "Since i'm pretty much stuck here, at least a battle wouldn't bore me like standing out in the rain does, sooner we leave this dreary place the better"
Turning around Lucia looked up to the sky, keeping her hood over her eyes so the rain didn't hit them "they don't even get much sunlight here, no wonder the lot of them are so grumpy, can't even kick back and have fun around here. But I suppose you didn't come here to hear my complaints"
Lucia then returned her gaze to the man "so apart from starting up love and justice what did you want?"
Robert Crescent
Freya Crescent
Robert would lead them into his family home. The living room was quite spacious and had a rather homely appearance. There was a large fireplace with a fur rug set before it and an iron screen that would allow the heat to fill the room with the flames being able to pierce through. attached to it was a silver rod that was used for drying clothes. There was a large couch at the rear of the room with a large bookshelf next to it. "Here, you can lay him either on the couch or the rug, and you can dry your clothes on that bar if you need to." Robert spoke.
Freya would come in about half an hour afterwards and looked over at the group. "Ah, there you are. Robert, the king requests to see you and your friends. It's rather urgent." she spoke. Robert stood and gave a nod to his mother. "Alright, but one of my friends is injured and needs rest." Robert responded before pointing over at Ricard.
Freya gave a nod to Robert and headed over to Ricard. "I'll watch over your friend. Once you're done speaking with the king, come back here." Freya spoke
Crawling over to lean against a wall, Twin Sword's arms made no effort to release him as her body got dragged along the floor "As much as i'd love to get out of these wet clothes, I doubt that would be possible with this one wrapped around me"
As his clothes began to dry naturally the Dragon Knight Freya entered the room to inform them that Puck wanted to speak with them. "One of you can fill me in later, not like i'm going anywhere anyway"
Stephen followed the group to roberts home and Sat near the so that his clothes would dry faster than if he sat across the room, he ran his hand down his tattoo, a Flash of Valefor burst into his mind, an he heard the word "defend the fire elemental mirror" he jolted forwards as the vision ended. looking around to see if anybody noticed, he hoped non had. Once his clothes had dried up Stephen began waking back and forth in the living room.
It was after a minute or two of pacing that the legendary Dragoon knight Freya strode in and informed Robert that he and the rest of the Group were requested by the king, but Stephen couldn't help think about what the Eidolin had said ~Fire Elemental mirror, where the hell could I Find that~ Stephen thought to himself as he looked at Freya and then to Robert "Should we go together, or Should we just make our own route there?" Stephen asked as he looked towards the door behind Freya.
Aaron:I don't Disagree with you but its better to enjoy the peace when you can..
Turning around Lucia looked up to the sky, keeping her hood over her eyes so the rain didn't hit them "they don't even get much sunlight here, no wonder the lot of them are so grumpy, can't even kick back and have fun around here. But I suppose you didn't come here to hear my complaints"
Aaron:No but I don't mind listening to Complaint's,It's help's if you open up to people even if its complaint's,but I enjoy this place people alway's complain about rain calling it "Depressing" or "Dreary" But Rain is needed and can bring good thing's too.
Lucia then returned her gaze to the man "so apart from starting up love and justice what did you want?"
Aaron:..Love and Justice isn't what I would call this...I guess it's Atonement for some of the Wrong's I did in the past..My reason before I knew what these people were after was to grant a Comrades last Request,but now I'm more focused on why these people want to go to our home world...What about you?What's your reason for being here..uhh Lucia wasn't it?
