Well Olivia I didnt mean pokemon in all its mass media will die. I kinda meant the designs would keep getting boring but Okay I actually take that back. The anime is so massive they already planned a 14th movie aling with the new season best wishes which started a while ago. Pokemon will never die anytime soon. But the designs just keep getting shit.

Pokémon is a large umbrella term that covers a wide range of media, so by using it I assume you were referring to the death of everything to do with Pokémon. :monster:

If you were just referring to the games, then no, they definitely won't be dying anytime soon. There's a thing with the Pokémon games and why each of them come with such a familiar and accessible style. The developers are trying to strike a balance with their audience, catering to the older fans and roping in new Pokémon gamers as well. So you have this situation where new players come in while older players retire from the games, and maintaining a consistent audience.

New gamers, usually being new to it, won't be very critical of the designs as the older fans would eventually be. In fact in Japan, I don't think they have a problem with rehash designs and plain wacky designs at all. I was thinking about the Dragon Quest games where 80% of each games' monsters are recurring. DQ players don't necessarily appear to make much of a fuss about that.
 
So according to the new information over at serebii.net, Pokemon Black and White are more story driven then all the other pokemon games which makes me happy :awesome: They seem to focus on N(the main villian) Who uses different pokemon whenever he battles you which is interesting. Team plasma have something to do with Genosekuto(#649) Who is a Paleozoic pokemon. Team plasma's plans are very evil as they want to revive this creature. This pokemon is the last on the dex and is from space. Read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleozoic That should explain the Paleozoic. This pokemon has amazing Statistics but they arent better then (#493) who is Arceus. Now this is interesting..
 
An evil organization wanting to revive a Pokemon that's so strong that it's had to lay dorment to prevent the world from going into Chaos? Hrm.. Not like we haven't heard of THAT before. :awesome:

That's why Team Rocket were the better of the Organizations.. they were never after Mew or Mewtwo, they were just awful people with a cause to steal Pokemon.

Even still, after 5th Gen... I want my Kangaroo Pokemon. :mokken:

...AND NO NOT KANGASKHAN :gasp:
 
From the new Pokémon, there's about 40 I absolutely despise, but I think the rest are okay. They aren't brilliant, but they're okay. At least, for me anyway, they're better than the Hoenn Pokémon >_>

I'm looking forward to the games still, since, at the end of the day, it's the gameplay of Pokémon which makes me really enjoy it, not the actual monsters. The region is supposed to be really diverse and interesting too, which I'm looking forward to.
 
Just a little something I would like to point out here. Remember how long it took to get a Dragonite/Tryanitar/Salamence/Metagross? Well That was level 55. Now the new pseudo legend Sazando is onbtained once its 2nd form evolves at 64 :gasp: Jesus Christ 64 that is now the highest it takes for a pokemon to evolve. Also Uragamosu the last pokemon on the dex bar the legends can be found in the wild at level 70. Wow I know it was possible to find magikarp at level 100 in platinum but still Uragamosu is pretty strong. Finding it at level 70 and its pre evo evolves to it at 59. Interesting..
 
Now, this is quite weird. I was talking to Channy about it on MSN earlier, and she pointed out that none fansites during coverage of the other Generations had gone through this legal-difficulty with Nintendo. It makes me wonder, perhaps they are going to alter the Pokémon for a Western audience? (I doubt it, but... dear God, I hope so)

Or maybe Nintendo are just butthurt that the over-whelming response to the new Pokémon from most fans is negative. Although, the hard-core Pokémon players on GameFaqs are already raving how good they are xD
 
I know it is weird indeed because al the generations up to diamond and pearl were all leaked fine while Black and white made Nintendo absolutely furious. The webmaster of Serebii was threatened to take all the images down and so was the one for pokebeach. Now every site I go to I see all the sprites dissapearing. The one who leaked them early also pokexperto have had them all taken down. I actually see some on other sites but I imagine they will all be taken down. Mark I dont understand what you mean... What do you mean negative responses? I know alot of the pokemon are really really badly desgined such as the ice cream pokemons. Still nintendo knows better than to take down images because of negative responses... Western audience... why? Pokemon has always been good to the point it became so popular in Japan. Now what I do not understand why they threatened serebii, pokebeach etc etc for putting the images up. Is this there last pokemon game? They dont want it revealed till western release? But people can just go on japanese sites and see the sprites there... I am not sure I even get why Nintendo did this.. I have also heard rumors that the letter from Nintendo was a fake one :hmmm:

And do you really think so? I sure hope these aren't the last Pokémon games, I mean it is still really popular right? Why would they end it here? Doesn't make sense if you ask me, it isn't in Nintendo's best interest, they would be making a mistake.

All the sprites seem to be back up on Serebii including the shiny versions and such. So Ill be honest but the letter must have been "fake" But it was a cease and desist letter so it may have not..
 
I think the series was 1 year early to be announced, for me it still kinda feels like the 4th generations is still new. By the looks of the recent news and all revealed pokemon, its decent. But I would have to say that these are not the best pokemon designs, the 2nd and 3rd generation was way better then this imo, the 4th generation legends cannot be compared to this. Yap the legends is always the best and most intresting part, some 5th generation legends dont look good like the trios, I only think the 3 mascots(3rd in the future) look the most awesome. The last pokemon ever is a bit of a laugh. The cries of the pokmon are a bit of a laugh aswell. Some non legends look decent but lots of them just looked crappy like the trios.

For the final form starters im not disappointed or amazed, not the best designs but their cool, im taking Pokabu to get Emboar, but it actually takes time to get use to the designs if you think im right. But for the legend trios, ripped off digimons to me lol. I really think the dream world is helpful for the alternate abilities but its probably going to be a pain if you wanna try to look for the proper nature you want for your pokemon. And its a pain too cuz seeing that your old pokemon from HG/SS can get new abilities in dream world you would want to abandon them or put them in B/W box and for them never to be used again.

I will try not using cheats for black, opposed to what I did in the previous versions, but if im frustrated in trying to retrieve one of my favorite pokemon, I might take steps in activating cheats to modify the nature or IV to 31. So anyways I will the top 10 pokemons I like in these games,and i chose them not by looks,by stats,maybe some by looks of how cool they look.

I'm not really into the looks of some of the newer pokemon. They are starting to look more and more like animals glamified to look ridiculous or just combining two animals together. I do have to admit I really like some of the starters this time around especially their third forms.

I still like some of the original pokemon from the older games, but it's really sad to see that most of them don't change at all, which I always look forward to the improvements to some of my favorites, new attacks and abilities, but this one doesn't seem to have much of that.
 
Oh good to see that it is coming March 6th. Ill be buying it on release date I think. I just hope the other english names arent as horrible as the 3 starters though. Tepig? :lew: Snivy and Oshawott are terrible also xD. I am glad the 2 legends kept their Japanese names though. Also Ami it shouldnt be too far off the NA release :hmmm:

Pokemon Black and White 2 hitting DS this June in Japan

Game Freak’s announced on Japanese TV tonight sequels for Pokemon Black and White will launch in Japan this June for DS.

Not much was given away besides the platform, release date and the fact they’re sequels in what seems to be a first in the main core series.
Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda teased the names of the first two Pokemon would be announced next week, but did show off images of the two in question.

The fact the main Pokemon series is getting sequels is a surprise, but missing 3DS is a bigger shock: it was honestly expected the next big Pokemon title would hit the 3D handheld, albeit as Pokemon Grey.

If they were to have released Pokemon Grey, it would never have been on the 3DS. The third game is always on the same hand held. Dunno who actually assumed that. Putting it on the DS keeps it open for all of the people that have yet to actually get a 3DS, or got rid of theirs. Now people that have a DS and people that have a 3DS can both enjoy the games (or not).

And according to Masuda's Twitter, the Pokemon are named simply "Black Kyurem" and "White Kyurem" instead of something that makes a bit more sense like "Kyushiram" or "Kyurom."
 
Pokemon Black and White 2 confirmed for UK autumn launch

Nintendo’s announced it’s to release Pokemon Black and White 2 this autumn in the UK for DS.

The games will be known as Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2, with Nintendo promising “plenty of new surprises” for launch.

This morning’s announcement follows the surprise announcement of the sequels in Japan over the weekend, expected to launch in summer.

We now also now the name of the first Pokemon shown in the art revealed alongside the game on late Saturday night UK time, known as Black Kyurem and White Kyurem from Pokemon Black and White 1.

The first Pokemon Black and White launched in March 2011 for DS, selling 1 million units in its first ten days on sale in the UK.
