Like what this person said.I have to disagree.
One Piece is extremely repetitive and mind numbing, though it does have some pretty funny shit in it every now and then.
I like One Piece. The Japanese version, the English Dub is terrible!
My favorite characters are Luffy and Nami. I like Luffy because he always cracks me up and I like Nami because she can be a bad ass with out being the stereotypical badass female character.

Discuss here about the anime and the manga here.
So is there anybody here besides me that likes One Piece? I watch the subbed eps and read the manga whenever a new chapter and/or ep is out.
I just saw ep 377 a few ago - its was pretty damned awesome since it had the Zoro v Kuma fight. Kuma's pretty badass in the way that he anhillated most of the Strawhats in that ep.
Also in the manga, at the Shabondy Island - the entire crew gets utterly defeated by Kuma again and also Kizaru. I can't wait to show that bit get animated. XD
Loving the newest manga arc - Amazon Lilly - too. There is a strong possibilty of getting his ninth crewmember, Maragaret at the end of this arc. Also there is a chance that the main villain of this arc, Boa Hacock cold well Luffy's mum too.
I only say that cuz Luffy's to recognise something on Boa's back. It could maybe a childhood memory perhaps? I dunno. But also its been stated in the manga, that both Luffy and Boa share the same type of Haki too.
i think one piece is good, there are however some storylines that drag out waay to long. Luffy is hilarious and whenever i see ussops nose i always manage a laugh. Nami is the one character i dislike....always shouting and contradicting herself...so annoying.
One Piece is an anime that takes a couple of episodes to get into. It's not something that you can turn on and just watch because you'll be like "WTF?"
But I personally think it is one of the best anime's out there. The story and characters are very creative. I often find myself liking and hating some characters at the same time.
Every character is developed very well, including Chopper, who is a reindeer. And the straw hat crew has great chemistry.
The story can also be incredibly wacky and then become completely serious with out being awkward.
If you have the patience, One Piece is a great anime. And I am happy that funimation redubbed it because the 4kids version was just awful.
I actually can't stand the show. It's art style is odd to look at. The proportions are wayy out of whack, and none of them look like humans. I know it's really popular, but I just do not know why.
Just because of the art I can't take it seriously. I used to watch a few episodes here and there but I just always thought it was a comedy. And I never understood if it was serious or just for laughs.
But when I thought it was just a comedy I actually liked the show. After finding out that it was supposed to be serious in some ways, I just was really lost and ended up disliking the show a lot.
I don't really know if it even has a storyline... but then again, I could be biased because there aren't any hot dudes in the show(GO BLEACH).
Like what this person said.
i like One Piece...i just find fighting there a bit odd, but then thats how anime works
Personally; of the big three SJ series, I think it's now the best of them. Naruto's just...agh. The author's lost track of whatever he started. Bleach is starting to drag a bit and Kubo can't draw backgrounds worth crap.

That >_> I mean they are in a pirate era, Devil fruits, etc etc. The only thing that wouldn't feel odd is fighting. >_>Madaraki said:Just curious; what about the fighting in it is odd?![]()
The only part of it that repeats is that Luffy's usually the one to take down the "final boss", but if that were a case for criticism of repetition, might as well slam all shonen animeI really don't get how people calls One Piece repetitive. It really has no repetition, whatsoever.
This was me a year and a half/two years ago. I could barely get past the first fight with Buggy, and later on when someone on an old forum I visited insisted that Enel was the most amazing character of all time, I went and did a lookup on the guy and well...edged further away from the series.I have to admit that I was one of the people who'd say I hate One Piece I just can't stand it, but after ACTUALLY watching it, not watching random episodes here and there but actually following the story, it got extremely interesting, I'd go as far as to call the BEST anime out there.
It was mediocre/bad when I made that last post. It hit utter shit level when Aizen started having more transformations than Frieza and Cell combined.Bleach is extremely shit now, what the hell is up with the manga now? It's really missed up, it's obvious that the author is just trying to drag on with it, it lost whatever meaning it had.
Looking at it that way; I can see how one might find the fighting odd. I mean, out of all the pirates that've shown up thus far, not many of the characters beyond Navy rank and file have actually used basic swords/guns in fights. In fact I think Blackbeard's crew is the only group that all pulled and used pirate-era guns in a fight, and even then that was only the tail end of a single fight. Beyond that, everyone uses some weirdly unorthodox fighting style. That >_> I mean they are in a pirate era, Devil fruits, etc etc. The only thing that wouldn't feel odd is fighting. >_>
This. Everyone in the crew's gotten a flashback/background (I find it especially fascinating that Luffy was the LAST of them to have such a flashback) and Oda just about never seems to forget characters (seriously, the number of times Makino, Buggy, Kaya, and all the other early-arc characters pop up, to say nothing of the occasional "what's going on in Alabasta" moment is amazing). The characters of One Piece are all well developed, all of the character got their nice share of screen time.
