Subject: Office language policy

Due to the fact that some individuals have been using foul language during the course of normal conversation with their coworkers, this policy is now in effect. This type of language will not be tolerated. However, we realize the critical importance of accurately expressing your thoughts when communicating with coworkers. Therefore we provided a list of 18 New and Innovative "TRY SAYING" phrases so proper exchange of ideas may continue in an effective manner.

INSTEAD OF:

1. You dont know what the f*** your doing.
2. She's a ball-busting b**ch.
3. And when the f*** do you expect me to do this?
4. No f***ing way.
5 You've got to be sh**ing me!
6. Tell someone who gives a sh**.
7. Its not my f***ing problem.
8. What the f***?
9. This shit wont work.
10. Why the f*** didnt you tell me sooner?

14. F*** it. I'm on salary.
15. Shove it up your a**
16. This job sucks.
17. Who the f*** died and made you boss?
18. He's a pr*ck.

4. I'm certain that isn't feasible.
5. Really?

17. You want me to take care of that?
18. He's somewhat insensitive.

found this at work thought it was funny.

That was actually at your work?

Pretty funny indeed. You must have a might gritty workplace. I'd definitely approve of the TRY SAYING list though. Much more pleasant words there.

lol who are you supposed to be saying those too? The "Perhaps I will stay late" may lead someone to believe that you don't mind staying late to finish work and they may slack off more often. Or it may make your boss think you don't mind staying late and he/she will give you more work.

Also, who would use that laguage at work? I'd be too afraid of getting fired.

lol, I've tried to calm my language down a bit myself, but at work of course, and while playing sports (and online gaming doesn't help either), I do it all the time.

I'm one of those people that at first needs to set up some kind of reminder, or tongue-biting method to catch myself when I'm getting out of line with my language. This posted rules thing is kinda funny, but in actuality a reminder like that being posted might help some people think before they speak.

Mmm, it's definitely all about practice.

Swearing can help in stressful situations. So can complaining, I read somewhere.

That list isn't too bad honestly. I've tried to be the proper "neighbor next door" bubbly person, but that just isn't me. I know that I'll probably have problems with my language at my regular works. Once I get the dream job though, it's pretty much swear city. (watch anything where Jim Cornette talks about Kevin Dunn or Vince Russo, and you'll see what I mean ;) ). Anyway, I can swear all day and it'll make me feel all happy inside. But of course I'll have to be miserable for the hours at work and then come home and fucking burst with my swearing. It's just the way shit goes. Meh.... Gum is good too. I should look into that :hmmm:

Lol, had a good laugh with this one, especially 8 and 16. That's definitely me sometimes, lol.

Definitely a 3 at my work place and a 13 to an old cranky lady there because she expects the impossible.

But yeah, um...ahem.

lmao! Everyone I work with acts like this :lew:. They won't be bringing in any of these policies while we have a manager with tourettes :wacky:.

Lol... 8 is definitely you. >.>

9 and 15 would probably be me. I have a few more in there, but I'm usually pretty blunt. =[

I've never worked in a place where swearing like that is acceptable behavior, tbh. Some of those things I have definitely said under my breath though.

This. I don't swear at work, but a lot of my co-workers do when they gossip around, etc.

I've said things in the second list straight out at work...but sometimes I have the first list in mind. So it works opposite for me.

I've not sworn in a work place either, bar the occasional damnit mumble if something went wrong. xD

I've worked at a Sonic Drive-in...

OMG we would swear like monkeys hanging from the damn trees! Even my managers...

Is it professional? of course not! Did we care? of course not! :wacky:

We did have an advantage though because our work was closed off since the dining was outdoor only.

this thing has been doing the rounds on social media for tiiiiime

ive never not sworn at work, and ive never been pulled for it either. i suppose the kinds of jobs ive been in ive been lucky (could swear my backside off when i worked at the engraving place, as long as i was professional on the phone) i think it's more just knowing when it is appropriate to swear. i dont suppose really, it is most of the time, but i do anyway. its like a compulsion
