So what are your thoughts on this? Personally I find it effin hilarious.. first gay fish, now this. Oh Mr. Kanye West will you have my babies? The dude shows his colors on a daily basis.. and I think this just earned him a streak on his permanent record... but people will still buy his music.. sadly.

Taylor Swift seemed pretty surprised herself to have won the VMA for Best Female Music Video on Sunday evening, but the real shock came when Kanye West suddenly burst onto the stage and rudely stole the microphone from the country crooner during her acceptance speech.
"Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time," West said. "One of the best videos of all time!"
A clearly embarrassed Swift stood motionless, not knowing what to do as West continued his rant. Eventually, audience members rose to their feet and booed the rapper down as cameras captured a mortified Beyonce. West took his seat (to make matters worse, time was up and Swift didn't even have a chance to fire back) and controversy continued to ensue as a multitude of celebs told him off, prompting security to circle the area.
Pop Tarts learned that Swift was comforted by her friends and family immediately afterwards and was upset by the whole incident. An inside source told Tarts that West was asked by a big-wig at MTV to immediately leave the show.
Diddy later took to the stage to present an award, but the second "Kanye" was uttered again the crowd booed and "Taylor" was chanted through Radio City Hall, the tension reaching a high point when West's nominated video was played.

Shocking.
I watched it again on Youtube and I found it really hard to watch, I felt embarrassed for her. Like she said, she was waiting for the day win an video music award and now it's been tarnished by some idiot.
Maybe he thought he was doing some noble act by giving a shout out to Beyonce? In any case, there are times to speak out and there are times to sit down and shut up i.e. let Swift enjoy her achievement in peace.

'Officially' a meme now.

I do love Kanye West.
Any person who can yell 'Do you know what it feels like to be great like me' for an entire concert definitely gets my respect. I couldn't careless about her having her day ruined, the whole show is a massive circle jerking fest, useless musicians give prizes to other useless musicians.
No one would have cared in the slightest had this not happened.

I thought it was really rude to be honest. Regardless of whether or not if he's given an apology, it's still no excuse to be prouncing around on the stage like an idiot when it's supposed to be her moment. Would he like it if someone did it to him? Crikey, idiots like him will do anything for the spotlight.

Yeah I saw this last night...that was pretty bad. We may not all like Taylor's song or video and that's fine, but to actually open your mouth in front of the audience for the sole purpose of embarrassing the artist is just unacceptable behavior. I'm glad Beyonce did a noble thing when she received her award...I don't think she even made her speech because as soon as she got on the stage, she called out for Taylor Swift and let her have her moment. Thumbs up for her. =]

Here are a few articles that have hit the net today regarding the issue.

Kanye apologises for VMA outburst
Kanye West has apologised for storming on stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at last night's MTV Video Music Awards.

During the incident, the rapper took Swift's microphone and suggested that Beyoncé should have won the prize for Best Female Video, prompting boos from the crowd.

When Beyoncé picked up the Video Of The Year prize later that evening, she invited Swift to join her on stage and give her acceptance speech uninterrupted.

Writing on his blog, West said: "I'm so sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would've said. She is very talented! (sic).

"I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she's in the bleachers! I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!"

He added: "Beyoncé's video was the best of this decade!!! I'm sorry to my fans if I let you guys down!!! I'm sorry to my friends at MTV.

"I will apologize to Taylor 2mrw (tomorrow). Welcome to the real world!!! Everybody wanna boo me but I'm a fan of real pop culture! No disrespect but we watchin' the show at the crib right now cause...well you know!!! I'm still happy for Taylor!!! Boooyaaawwww!!!!

"You are very very talented. I gave my award to Outkast when they deserved it over me. That's what it is! I'm not crazy yall, I'm just real. Sorry for that! I really feel bad for Taylor and I'm sincerely sorry!!! Much respect!!!"

Taylor Swift reacts to Kanye stage rant
Taylor Swift has spoken out about Kanye West interrupting her acceptance speech during last night's MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer had just been handed the award for best female video when West stormed the stage and took the microphone to suggest that Beyoncé should have won the prize instead.

Speaking at a press conference after the event, she said: "I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I had just won an award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on the stage.

"And then I wasn't so excited anymore after that. I don't know him and I don't want to start anything. I had a great night tonight. I've been getting so many text messages and everybody's been really, really nice. I've had a really fun night. It's definitely been an interesting night."

The 19-year-old went on to praise Beyoncé for inviting her on stage to finish her speech after she won her own gong for video of the year.

"I thought that I couldn't love Beyoncé more than tonight and then that happened," she said. "They told me to stand by the side of the stage and I didn't really know what was going to go down but I thought it was so wonderful and gracious of her."

West has since issued an apology to Swift and admitted that he should not have "taken away" from her moment in the spotlight.

Kings of Leon, Perry mock West VMA rant
Kings of Leon and Katy Perry are among the latest stars to mock Kanye West's MTV VMA rant.

The rapper invaded the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for best female video to complain that Beyoncé should have taken home the title.

West has since apologised for his behaviour, while Swift has claimed that she doesn't "want to start anything" with the hip-hop star.

However, musicians who attended the event have complained about West's behaviour on their blogs and Twitter accounts.

Kings of Leon's Nathan Followill, who was nominated for best rock video, joked: "We lost dammit. Maybe next year. At least we got to see the worst haircut since 1984 try to steal the spotlight from lovely Taylor Swift."

Meanwhile, Katy Perry said: "F**k you Kanye. It's like you stepped on a kitten."

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert suggested that West needed to "chill", while fellow Idol star Danny Gokey asked: "How could you be so heartless [Kanye]?"

Clarkson blasts West for VMA outburst
Kelly Clarkson has blasted Kanye West for his outburst during Taylor Swift's VMAs acceptance speech.

The rapper took to the stage at last night's MTV Video Music Awards when Swift won the best female video trophy for her song 'You Belong With Me', claiming that Beyoncé should have won the category.

After later winning for video of the year, Beyoncé invited Swift to finish her interrupted speech.

Meanwhile, Clarkson responded to the incident involving her fellow nominee via her blog, E! reports.

She wrote: "Dear Kanye, What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we're all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like s**t...

"I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her, so why can't you be?"

West later issued an apology to Swift, her mother, his fans and "friends at MTV".

Pink blasts Kanye for VMA rant
Pink has revealed that she wishes she had won Taylor Swift's VMA award so she could have challenged Kanye West for protesting that Beyoncé should have won instead.

The rapper shocked the audience at New York's Radio City Music Hall when he stormed the stage as Swift accepted the award for best female video - her first ever MTV VMA trophy.

Although West has since apologised for the incident, Pink blasted him via her Twitter account, saying: "Kanye West is the biggest piece of s**t on earth. Quote me."

She added: "I was there. It was the one time I really, really wished I would've won because I had this amazing Alexander McQueen purse with brass knuckles on it. Honestly, I don't think it would've happened if I was there. But Taylor Swift is awesome... I think he's just a waste, he's an idiot, he's a toolbox."

As previously reported, Kings of Leon and Katy Perry have also posted messages online mocking West's rant.

Kanye issues second apology to Swift
Kanye West has issued a second apology to Taylor Swift after he interrupted her acceptance speech at last night's MTV Video Music Awards.

The musician was greeted with boos when he stormed on stage to suggest that Beyoncé would have been a better winner.

Writing on his official blog, he said: "I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet The Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave.

"That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry."

A previous apology message posted by West has since been removed from his website.

I still think that was very inappropriate of him to do it. -__-

...Crikey, idiots like him will do anything for the spotlight.

Exactly why he did it. He saw the publicity he got for the first shock moment he had (Bush hates black people) and tried to get that effect everytime after. The Evil Knievel video, "If the Bible was written today, I would be a major figure," that shit isn't a coincidence. This was just his latest opportunity to do something outrageous, so obviously, he did it. I don't know why everyone's surprised. It's Kanye being Kanye. Warning to all you surburban gangsta teens, don't be all over his johnson when he gets radio play, then disapprove when he's still being himself.

Granted; I couldn't care less because it seems like the greatest marketing ploy since chocolate bars attached to gossip magazines targeted at women. Kanye gets his spotlight; Taylor gets her pity sales; and Knowles gets her great person sales after her apology to Swift.

OMG laaaawl!!
That is a fantastic image.

Kanye is a douche. I like his music... well, some of it... but I definitely have never liked him. Don't get me wrong here, I'm no fan of Taylor Swift either.

That's what happens when shit musicians (ie, Kanye West) think they're actually amazing artists. Regardless of what he felt, it was completely unnecessary to do it and I don't even know which Beyonce video he's on about, she's an amazing singer and has good videos but "Best of all time" is a bit OTT.

I'm glad other artists have ripped into him :)

No disrespect to anyone, but singers in America seem to think that they're above everyone else. I was happy that Taylor looked genuinely shocked that she won, but still not happy Kanye had to go and ruin the moment. If it were me accepting the award if I'd won and he came up, I'd push him off the stage.

Kanye West (for all his talent) does seem to find it hard to avoid doing insane things and keeping his planet-sized ego in check. This was pretty stupid but already some of the criticism seems to be getting a bit much. He acted like an idiot, but I've seen more bile directed at Kanye in the last few days than someone like Chris Brown got for beating up his girlfriend!

Still, MTV will be happy, who would have noticed anything about these awards otherwise?

I can't stand it when people are so full of themselves like that.

It's like he thought he owned the stage.

Poor Taylor is up there so excited and happy to win an award and his ignorant ass barges in and takes that all away from her.

I bet when he (if he has) first got an award he would've punched someone out if they tried to ruin his moment like that.

He doesn't get that she's only just started her career and that he could have really made her question if she wants to continue it after this.

Fucking dick.

Funny thing is I don't know where he gets it, and don't tell me its because he is black, that is horse crap - just look at Fred Durst or Eminem, those two do/did the same thing on a constant every day basis. The create controversy which sells their music.

He reminds me so much of Pdiddy/puff daddy/Sean puffy combs/puffy that it is sick, yet he has the nerve to actually call himself a Jesus figure. Also how Puffy got famous off of his dead friend B.I.G. eh.. comes with the territory of being a rap pop icon I guess.

Get this though, he said it is because of the grief of his mom passing 2 YEARS AGO! in which has his mind all in a mix. Now I'm not an insensitive bastard usually but get over it. He used his mom's death as an excuse, what a freakin low-life two faced son a whore. I'd smack him if I could.. I really would. People like him say "I'm god's gift to women."

What a waste of talent.

I think Kanye is very good at selling an image, I don't think he honestly believes he's a genius, but as you say that kind of publicity leads to sales. It's not only pop singers who do this, Guns n Roses, Ozzie Osbourne and even the Beatles profited from their publicity/notoriety. I think Charliepanayi makes a good point about how little outrage there has been against Chris Brown. However I think that we'd be hypocritical if we singled out Chris Brown and then didn't persecute most 'rockers' for their frequent drug use; Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Kurt Cobain to name but a few.
I think it's a case of Tall poppy syndrome, a chance for people to hack down a self proclaimed genius because he interrupted a 19 year old making a speech.

More and more people are attacking him, despite the many apologies he's apparently given out. I could care less if he apologies. What's done is done. The latest ones to attack him are The Saturdays.

Saturdays slam "animal" Kanye West
The Saturdays have branded Kanye West an "animal" after he stormed the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs.

The 'Forever Is Over' singers criticised West for ruining Swift's moment in the limelight and insisted that they would not tolerate his behaviour.

"What an animal. I don't care if it was a publicity stunt, it was too mean," Rochelle Wiseman told the Daily Star.

"Beyoncé saved the day. What a classy lady, she's the real star.

"I don't think he'd dare try it with five of us girls on stage," she added. "But if he did, he wouldn't still be standing."

Wiseman added that the group were no longer interested in working with the 'Love Lockdown' rapper.

"I don't know how many times we've said we'd love to work with Kanye, but that's the last time I say that. From now on it's all about Jay-Z."

The Saturdays release their second album on October 12.

Ouch. He lost business with the UK's next rising girlband. xD

Both Swift and Kanye have some okay songs, nothing I'm into. I didn't see it on TV, but I heard about it at work I believe, and looked it up on YouTube.

I can't say anything about this, than it was a complete asshole move, uncalled for and rude to top it off.

To be honest he doesn't even deserve a joke like that in a Mortal Kombat game, if that's even if.

What he did was immature, he's a grown up man, he should've just let the girl have her moment. That's what she deserved, if it's his opinion Beyoncé has a better video, good for you, Kanye, but you're the biggest douchebag to take away Taylor's moment of standing there shining on stage.

I never liked Kayne's attitude anyways, to stuck up for me.

This just proves more.

-_-

Really sweet of Beyoncé to give up her OWN moment for Taylor. Good job Kayne, happy now that Beyoncé felt responsible and wanted to apologize for your dumbass move? :)

God, I'm done ranting. People nowadays have NO respect whatsoever anymore. Reminds me of my boss... -__-

Fucking dick.

Amen, Kandy. -_-

Even the President called him a jackass. There was a recording that got leaked. :ryan:

Barack Obama Kanye 'jackass' audio leaks
A recording from US President Barack Obama's CNBC interview where he called Kanye West a "jackass" for interrupting Taylor Swift's MTV VMA acceptance speech has leaked.

A spokesman for ABC News later apologised when the off-the-record comment was reported by Nightline co-host Terry Moran on his Twitter page.

According to audio obtained by celebrity gossip site TMZ, Obama said: "I thought that was really inappropriate. It was like, she's getting an award, what are you butting in?

"I hear you, I agree with you. The young lady seems like a perfectly nice person, she's getting her award, what's he doing up there? He's a jackass."

He added: "Now, now, all this stuff, I'm assuming all this stuff [is off-the-record]. Where's the [journalists'] pool? Come on guys, cut the president some slack, I've got a lot of other stuff on my plate."

West has since said sorry for the incident, while Swift has revealed that she accepted his "very sincere" apology.

Wanna hear it? You can find it here. I thought it was hilarious! :wacky:

Bjork - I think that assaulting your partner is far more reprehensible than taking shedloads of drugs. Though of course there are plenty of rock musicians out there who have treated women like crap too. It's just an illustration of how I think this situation is all getting a little overheated. The point is that at worst Kanye West is an idiot. But there's far worse crimes out there than being an idiot.

Stupidity != Ignorance.

Sorry but this is an act of pure ignorance. He basically thought he could say whatever he wants due to the fact he is a well known pop figure. Problem is he can get away with that, and guess what... in 3 years... who will really care. All it takes is a new album and him saying he is sincerely sorry about 10 more times.

He will keep doing the stupid stuff he does because he is ignorant. I mean its like the when the Dixie Chicks bashed Bush on public television/on tour, while Bush probably deserved on so many levels, it still wasn't right. Kanye likes to speak a tad too much sometimes and you can tell he's undereducated and basis all of his arguments via opinion. He likes to be in the lime light, he made millions via exploiting his fame. You might think this as smart, but then you have South Park bring him down to a laughing stock. Now everything in my eyes is a joke by him.

What evidence do you have for him being 'undereducated'? I think as musicians go Kanye West is actually in the upper echelon of intelligence (admittedly there's not much competition).
