I've never seen the original Star Wars movies

Yes he should be banned. It's sacriledge to not have seen the original Star Wars movies.
They've been available for rent or purchase even at second hand stores for along time now so there's no excuse.

unless you just never got round to it? have other things youd rather spend your money on or sci fi aint your thing? I know Id never go out my way to buy it. its something ive only watched if its been on tv or a pal has had it

Just finished playing Batman Arkham Asylum. Mark Hamill is the shit. :monster:

Youd be surprised how many games mark hamill doe voice work on:ryan:

You know he was Wolverine in one of the X-men games.

Thated be an epic battle Luke Skywalker vs Wolverine

I could never get into Star Wars it's all about Spock and Captain James T. Kirk, baby! I think I watched the recent episodes in order and I vaguely remember watching like one of the . . . older episodes with Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher as a kid. But it bores me now.

The original Star Trek was incredibly boring and cheesy. :hmmm:

I did like Next Generation though.

I used to watch Next Generation but I think it was the recent movie and the fact that my mom was a bit of a closet Trekkie that got me into the original series. My fav captains are Kirk and Picard, mostly Picard though to be honest.

Ah. I've watched the old episodes with my stepmother. I just couldn't get into them as much as the Next Generation. xD

I haven't seen the new movie though.

blackstang, you sound miserable, do you need a hug? Maybe a schmuck in a pancake? =P

Oh I see, yeah it's an acquired taste. It's funny, you now I've realized there's this nice divisive line between the so called Trekkies and the Star Wars fans. Neither one likes the other's preferred show. Like my mom doesn't like Star Wars, she thinks it's "stupid." Just how I prefer Star Trek the Next Generation and Enterprise over the Star Wars movies, I find that the newer ones have stilted dialogue and eh acting, but I do praise the usage of outstanding visual and sound effects. Like, for its time, the original episodes of Star Wars was a stepping stone in sci-fi movies, it was and still is an influential line of movies.

Likewise, I've met some Star Wars fans that are adamant about just flat out disliking Star Trek because they found the series too boring or confusing. I always wondered why we couldn't settle it and just find some common grounds of respect for both sci-fi series.

Um I have a button?:hmmm:

A belly button! :gasp:

Episodes 1-3 : Episodes 4-6 :: donkey balls : awesome

/SAT

What if someone thinks donkey balls are awesome?

Star Wars is the basis for many movies and games that you see today. I'm sure even Square Enix has used Star Wars as a muse for their work, it wouldn't surprise me.

Understatement of the fucking century!

There is clear Star Wars references/ influences as far back as Final Fantasy II. Biggs and Wedge from VI, VII, VIII and X are named after the Star Wars characters of the same names. Not to mention XII REAKS of Star Wars.

Damn, beat me to it! Don't forget the Red Wings in FFIV. I think in the DS version of IV, they added Biggs and Wedge to Cecil's crew. I think the Falcon (the Airship you "borrow" from the Tower of Babil with Edge) is a reference to the Millennium Falcon.

Stars Wars is poo anyway.

Better than Star Trek! :ohoho:

Also I just remembered that in VI when you rescue Celes she comments on Lockes height if he's disguised as a soldier at the time, a subtle nod to when Luke Skywalker rescues Leia in A New Hope.
