i would very much like to know how you guys pronounce the word

"SUICIDE"

is it

a. su-i-side

b. sju-i-side

c. su-e-side

or

d. you dont know how to pronounce it.



this thread sounds silly bt i'm eager to know the answer. this has started quite a storm in my class.

tag along your nationality too, if you dont mind.

uhm, ive never heard this word pronounced differently before..... suicide is just pronounced as its spelt. soo-i-side

What they said. XD It needs the 'Weh' to sound right. Not just the 'ee'.

Some people don't know how to sound out words properly when they write it down and probably don't say it how they're sounding it out in here either. XD

I knew someone would say that.

I was merely stating that 'some people' don't know how to sound out words properly when writing it down. Therefore, it may seem that they are saying the word differently to everyone else, when they have in fact just made a mistake in here.

I'm not saying anyone did make a mistake just that it is possible! And yes it is possible that some may think that I too made a mistake but 'oh well'.

No...I don't fight on the internet. Kind of pointless/immature really. =/

And yeah, whichever way you say it is understandable. Everyone has their own way of pronouncing words no matter if they speak the same language/have the same accent or not. >_<

No, I was just pointing out that something like that can't be said without it coming back round to whoever said it.

Of course people say it different.

My friend pronounces it "Soo-way-psy-d" Or something similiar. She's Japanese Chinese so the d is said quite soft.

I think it was more of a disagreement than a fight...

Btw, if you don't mind my asking..why are you asking us how we pronounce 'suicide'? It's not everyday someone asks me how I pronounce something, let alone a word like suicide. :wacky:
