I have only seen AC once and it was sooo long ago, I forget every detail. I don't even want to watch a trailer, I want to be surprised!

So, I see that there's a new version just for Blu-Ray called Advent Children Complete. I looked on Wikipedia and skimmed the differences, it says there's different music at different times and NEW scenes?

OK, so the new scenes... I don't have PS3 or a Blu-Ray player. I want to see this movie and it really will be like the first time seeing it again for me since I literally forget all of it! Are the new scenes (don't spoil them!) worth waiting for a Blu-Ray player? Or are they not exciting/epic/important enough where I wouldn't miss out on just getting the DVD now and seeing the Complete Blu-Ray version later on?

Let me know what you think :-)

I would advise you to buy a PlayStation 3 instead of a Blu-Ray player. With a PlayStation 3, you can also buy games, in addition to using it for ACC.

I decided on getting my PlayStation 3 mainly because of FFXIII and ACC.

However, I wouldn't advise you to buy a Blu-Ray player just for this one movie. I've seen Blu-Ray players go for some high prices, and I think it'd be better if you go for the PS3. :)

I love Advent Children.. I have a PS3 and a regular Blu Ray.. I didn't know about this AC Complete thing. But I'ma definitely get it!

The original is 1 hour and 55 minutes if I remember correctly. Advent Children Complete is 2 hours and 6 minutes. There are some extra scenes that make the movie make more sense, and 1 or 2 soundtrack switches, and make it feel like the movie is jumping around less from scene to scene. I think the Complete version is what the original should have been. It's awesome and visually awesome. GET IT.

No, I really would not recommend that.

As Sakura said, invest your money on a PS3 instead. It is itself also a Blu-Ray player and you'll be getting much more for your money than if you simply purchase a (mostly still overpriced) Blu-Ray player.

Besides, Advent Children is a forgettable film anyway. I watched it once on DVD and it was underwhelming in my opinion. Getting a player for this one film would not be a good idea at all for me.

lol I remember it not being so great either! I remember it being a movie that the good parts were in all the trailers and that was it.
I would really like to see it again though as I'm on a FFVII kick, but if there's only under a 10 minute difference I think I can wait to get the Blu-Ray one when I get a PS3! I was going to try to get one sooner than later, but now I don't think I'll rush it.
I was thinking it would be a bigger difference or something, like how it's released a bit later and -only- on the Blu-Ray. Sounds like that's not the case! So I will grab it on DVD then.

No, its totally not worth it. Get it on DVD if you must, but buying a Blu Ray soley for that would be a big waste of your time and cash.

Save for a PS3 and buy that but I wouldnt waste your mobey on a blu Ray juat for the movie...Honestly I cant even remember the differences between the two...Not thet it matters much the movie wasnt that great to begin with

I ended up getting the limited edition collector's set on DVD, it's a nice little set. I LOVED the movie so much more this time around! It was stunning at times, I really really enjoyed it.

I think I didn't like it before back when it first came out (I know what I saw was bootlegged and probably poorly subbed!) because I watched and saw every single snippet of everything that was leaked and watched all the trailers over and over, it became nothing special.
I decided to watch it in English this time also and enjoyed it, it wasn't too bad at all. Some parts were silly and a little dramatic, the "supposed to be funny" parts actually made me laugh, and I just simply loved it.

It is really a treat to see these characters come to life like that, especially after spending so long with them in the game over the last few months. I hadn't replayed it for several years and got back into it and really have enjoyed it. I'm glad I liked the movie, I was afraid I wouldn't again.

ACC isn't that much better than AC... it's good, and pretty for the eyes with it's new graphical capabilities and such, but just download it. The only reason it's out on BR only is because of the new pretty graphics, but if you download it, and have a good graphics card on your computer, then it's nearly the same thing.

I haven't seen AC in a while so, I forgot exactly what the details are but, I agree with Ari. If you want to watch it, the best thing would to get a PS3. Get the best of both worlds (video games and play movies) So, i'd recommend doing so.

Oh yeah definitely a PS3 for the blu-ray! Now since I've watched the movie I googled info on the ACC (absolutely did not want a single thing spoiled before seeing the regular AC!) and I think by the sounds of it it would be something I'd have liked to see first, but at least there's still more to see.
I read that the difference is actually 25-30 minutes of new footage?? If that's true that will be a treat.

I really enjoy watching Advent Children but If I were you I wouldn’t waste money for a blu ray one, rather than save for a PS3…:)

I agree, why buy a blue ray player when you can just buy a ps3. Just get the ps3 and play :awesome: games.

I love the movie and have dvd and umd (psp) copys of it. GET IT.

Mod edit: Could you add a little more to your post, please? Tell us why, other than you loving it, there's a reason to get it perhaps. :3
