I sleep more than the average (8 hours)... I usually sleep for about 10 hours but yet... I still feel tired and I can continue to sleep. Does anyone else sleep a lot? >_<

I get about 6, and only occasionally feel able to go back to sleep. I'm feeling excessively sleepy quite often recently, but it's never been an issue.

I don't get enough sleep... about 0-4 hours on a school night. But on Friday nights I'm always so knackered after a sleepless week that I stay in bed all Saturday...

I sleep about 16 hours on a weekend, but in the week it's about 5-7.

There's no such thing as too much sleep, lounging around in bed is so good. :monster:

I fi dont have my daughter i can sleep all day, i have trouble getting to sleep at night tho, even if i have had very little or no sleep >_<

I dont get enough really, and it makes me really rather cross because i happen to enjoy sleeping

I have very poor sleep habits. I used to get by with less then 8 hours of sleep for two days. Starting sometime last year I righted my sleep habits, I usually get 6-8 hours on a weekday, but I'm more tired than ever. I find myself wanting to sleep at any given time of the day.

Well that's your problem right there, you need to sleep LESS than 8 hours. The longer you sleep the more sluggish and tired you're going to be. I've known quite a few people (and the same goes for myself) who function better on small amounts of sleep like 4-5 hours than on 8 hours or more.

So try doing that for a couple nights. It has the added benefit of letting you get more things done, too.

My sleeping habits can actually change quite a lot, they have been lately, anyway.

I usually get 7-9 hours of sleep, possibly more during the weekend. When I can't be arsed going bed early, I'll only probably get 7 or less. And then when I'm really tired, I could probably sleep over 12 hours.

If it continues, then go see a doctor and get some advice. The cause of it might go deeper than you think.

I sleep around 6 to 7 hours, but I can stay awake and work 90% functional with even 3 or even an hour of sleep. There are times in which I can stay awake for over 24 hours. but then I am 70% functional and physical and mental performance slowly decreases due to lack of sleep....

Then if I get at least 8 hours of sleep, I can skip sleep if I want, at least for 26 hours (which is the longest amount of time I've been awake). So I don't depend that much on sleep, I only sleep what it's necessary.

I'm starting to think this thread was accidentally misplaced.

Actually too much sleep can tend to make a person depressed as well. The best amount of sleep, for an adult over 18, is probably around 6 to 8 hours a night. Also a bad diet can really mess you up. Green veggies are great for giving long lasting energy. Also the vitamin B6 is great for relieving depression and sluggishness. In fact, all the B vitamins are very important. B12 is used to fight anemia. So take vitamins, eat green veggies and sleep less than 8 hours a night. :neomon:

Almost forgot, stay away from refined sugar.

B6...that's in bananas right? so if I eat more bananas, I'll be less sluggish and depressed? Sweet, I love bananas.

No wonder I'm so fucked up :elmo:

My mom is always telling me crazy shit about sleep, like in some magazine she read that sleep past midnight (even if it's still dark) counts for half the sleep prior to midnight. So basically, 1 hour of sleep before midnight = 1/2 hour of sleep past midnight. Sounds like a load of crap to me, and I don't trust anything that woman reads.

I was on sleeping tablets that seemed to be doing the trik but I ran out :wacky: I really need to go back and get summore.

I don't think my diet helps either, all I eat is crap, I must start eating poper >_< I just cba tho, coz Im always so tired, and to think, I used to sleep looooads. what went wrong ;_;

I heard on the radio that 7 hours a night is the ideal.. anything more or anything less and you're going to die. o_O As opposed to living forever like you would with 7 hours a night...?

Anyhoo, I can get 7 hours on a good night... but it's mostly less... and lots more at the weekend. My friend slept for 21 hours once I was like Whaaaaaaaaaaa? Longest I've stayed awake is 61 hours.. that was hellish o_O

Holy shit, and I thought 2 days was bad o_O I get really really bad tempered when Im tired, teary even :wacky:

I hate being tired but I always am

I heard that about that 7 hours thing, altho I think i heard 6 was enough. Tbh I think it depends on the individual....
When I do have kipathon tho and I wake up like 16 hours later I still feel really slugish and tired and feel like I could still sleep summore. I just can't win. Either way Im tired -_-

I sleep a lot...for now. I don't have class for about a month and I usually work during the evening, so there's no need to jump outta bed in the morning.

I'd say I get about 8-10 hours of sleep. I'm sorta tired of waking up at noon, though. I may force myself out of bed from now on.

I love to sleep, and I need quite a bit of it. I really enjoy waking up and feeling refreshed, and hate it when I stay up late and end up feeling crummy all week. I'd rather have shorter days where I feel good than long days where I want to curl up in bed and sleep all the time. Having more sleep is so beneficial!
