Ever been in one of those situations where you're just tired of waiting for that tech repair guy/your best friend to fix something and you just do it yourself? Doesn't it just give you a great feeling of accomplishment?

It gives me quite the feeling of accomplishment if I'm able to fix something without someone's help, especially if I believe that I'm lacking in a lot of knowledge in this kind of repair.

yesterday my guitar fell over and de-tuned. being the newb I was, I didn't know how to get it back in tune. After about two hours of being bored as fuck, I just started playing songs that required me to play only one string at a time, and eventually got it back in tune.
It felt good tbh. :neomon:

I have an electronic tuner, because it's better to play some songs a semi-tone lower than they should be played. Welcome to the Jungle for example:elmo:

But I know what you mean, I feel pretty proud after I fix CD players and Ipods.

(Ghod, I'm such a perv; I thought for sure this was gonna be something about
a guy sucking himself off
:ffs: )

I can't name anything off hand though, but I do like being able to do something on my own without help.

I know what you mean. I always relied on my dad to tune my guitar but I learned how and now it's like *snap* But this hardly happens to me, I like to do things myself and learn from mistakes and all those other cliches :neomon:

And Fusionist, looks you've been watching to much Scary Movie 2 :wacky:

Yer, same thing happens to me, sometimes the guitar is out of tune and I have to go to my brother to tune it, and he's just a lazy fak and won't help me :mad:

So I tried it on my own a few times and now I can tune a guitar myself :D

Same thing with the PC, I can work it but I don't know shajt if something goes wrong, and go immediately to my neighbor for help. But this one time he wasn't there and I couldn't wait so I tried to fix is on my own. And I did, it was a good feeling... knowing that you're not as dumb as you thought :wacky:

lol, yeah... that was an awkward scene, disturbing even...

I tend to do any repairs and the like myself, most electronic repairs I know enough to plug together if necessary.

And yes, scary scene was scary...

The only stuff I have to do with that could possibly ever need maintenance are computers/laptops etc. I've been trained in a completely unrelated way to my job, so I can actually tinker with the internal components of a PC if need be without supervision/guidance. Software-wise I'm pretty savvy too, so I just get on with whatever needs doing.

Anything with TVs and such things on the other hand, and I'm very much a mong.

I have AP, so people always had me tune their guitars for them ;)

But I know what you mean, it's pretty damn good when you can do something for yourself. I can deal with a lot of music-related electronics, which is pretty good for a girl ^^

Scary Movie 2?

I'm starting to cook for myself now. I make some pretty edible dishes ranging from Cheesy Hamburger Mac, Grilled Cheese with Egg, and basically anything with cheese :D I got tired of asking my mom for food so I eventually started doing it myself.

Scary Movie 2?

There's a scene where the guy in the wheel chair blows himself. Very disturbing...

I can't exactly remember any major repairs that I've done in the past, but I am quite very good when it comes to fixing little things such as a mouse not working, taking it apart and messing with it (and really all it needed was a bit of cleaning xD). I also do remember messing with the internet, trying to figure out how to make it work again, and without any help, I've actually succeeded. Pretty simple stuff, really...nothing big that would take me hours to fix.

God yes :monster: It's an orgasmic rush of confidence. It's usually stuff around the house that needs fixing, and seeing how my dad is lazy, I end up doing it myself. I pull out my tool kit and do the job myself.

Well since I read a lot, I tend to know a few things here and there. Also I seem to lack patience when problems with my things occur, for I tend to try to find a way to repair them as soon as possible.

For example, the OS of my desktop didn't wanted to boot, so I decided to pull the damn Windows XP CD and used Recovery Console, and I realized that the boot sector was screwed. That did the trick. It is quite funny, but sometimes I fix things and 30 seconds later I forgot how the hell I did it. Guess I am lucky :)

In other cases, I remember when someone I care too much got a small cut and began to bleed, a lot (ironic for it seemed to be a small cut...apparently, it wasn't) so I desperately went searching for the First Aid Kit to heal her.

One time my bro dropped Playstation console and it stopped working. My dad took it and tried to fix the problem. After 30 minutes he said that he can't find the problem. I looked at it and saw some wire not connected (can't tell which one). I just plugged that wire where I thought it supposed to be and Playstation ran normally then.

I can't repair anything and that bothers me. I have the gift of breaking glasses, mouses (for the computer), shoes, bags, monitors...

I spend way too much getting things repaired.

But for shoes and bags, I usually just drop it off to a repair shop here called Mr. Quickie and they fix it in a few minutes. :wacky:
