Does anyone ever even USE this materia? Considering it's in one of those materia caves, you think it'd be summat good, bu, imo it's probably the shitest materia in the game
 
Yea, actually sometimes I do. Not very rarely but in some cases, when I'm leveling in low areas, it's nice to have a buttfuck load of MP and you really don't need any HP. You just cast high level spells and never worry about running out of MP, really. Other than that I use it very rarely in boss battles when it's advantageous to attack hard and heavy and expect a short battle.
 
True, unless your character had extremely high Def or there were some extremely expensive Magic/Summon. The most expensive Materia is Knights of the Round, but MP Absorb and Mime solve that problem, I honestly don't know the reason they added that Materia.

Who would trade 9999HP/999MP for 999HP/9999MP?

I never used and probably never will.
 
nope never once used it ever. I cant remember where you get it but i think its later in the game correct? I never could see the advantage, it just made my character more likely to get wiped out in a single hit. Besides i only really used haste, barrier, restore spells so i had plenty of mp anyway. I agree its useless
 
Used it when I was getting limit breaks for my weaker dudes who weren't part of my party for long time and because of that they lacked mana :D
 
i think i used it once when i liked to cast only spells in the game, like the ones that cost loads of MP, like tornado ,flare, freeze and break, ultima, full cure, those kinds of things.

i never used it as something to get me through any part of the actual game, but when im feeling spell happy i usually will.

I had used the materia once but I thought it was pretty useless to use. I can understand how it was useful for some people but I did fine without.
 
It would be cool if you leveled up with that materia equipped, and your max MP could be higher than 999 when you switched back....
 
i agree with mostof you, its useless, if i ever needed MP ill use the enemey skill magic hammer, and even then thats rarely
 
I never needed to I masters W-summon and put the absorb mp on Knights. effectively making it to where I was receiving around 1000 mp per turn.
 
If you have a character as a well rounded mage and have gotten lots of guard sources from morph materia you can equip him well with also final attack life and lots magic for counte and quad magic etc.
 
I used it on Mideel when I was leveling up just so I could attempt to master the materia. I don't think I got it to master status yet, but it wasn't really that hard. I just used one of my other characters with the Cover materia to jump in front of whoever had on my MP<-->HP materia.

I really don't think I even died at all with it on since I had the person pretty much Secret Service covered.
 
i don't believe i ever used it but i saw it used it one of those no-work lvling guides...pretty much you just stood in the midgar swamp with one person HP/MP switch, Final attack paired with Phoenix, and a cover(doesn't have to be mastered), the other 2 chars have counter attack on them and you just rubber band down the X button to get though the after battle screens. It pretty much meant that the person with the HP/MP switch takes damage and dies and summons phoenix which revives him and any other char that is dead and if i remember correctly comes close to killing the Zolem. just check it ever few hours to make sure your char hasn't run out of mp...and to avoid even that i think you could pair a counter with mp absorb and gain some mp when s/he attacks...don't know if that would work though cause i cant remember how much damage the zolem did with basic physical attacks.
 
Nyeh, I used this Materia only because I had to level it up....
I never will understand the actual use this thing has....what's it actual purpose in the game. Nyeh, oh well. Still got it.

i find that it can be pretty useful to those who wind up with low mp when they go through the final three battles cuz it makes it really easy and much simpler to spam knights of the round.

but i still don't use it much cuz before i go there i master all my materia so my lvls are basically maxed out
 
Heehee, that glitch is godly really. I think it has helped more then a few players xD/
I remember the first time I learned about it [by accident] I spazzed out xDD
