How long does it take you to beat a game?

For me it takes about one month to beat a game. That's because i love training and spend a lot of my time trying to reach level 100 and in some games master all classes/jobs/abilities etc

Well Im not a speed demon! I take my time and enjoy the game:D!Usually If its a FF game It takes me 2 or 3 months!FF3 I had that game for a year and im stuck in the last boss! If its a summon night game it only takes me 3 days:D! Right now im trying to beat disgaea 1psp and 2! Its taking me months to finish it!

Depends on the level of difficulty in the game if its easy it normally takes me 4 days,if its hard it usually takes me 1-2 months. It just depends what the game is about and if its easy or not.The game that took me the longest to beat was I think 3-4 years. =/

For me, it really depends on the game. If it fails to suck me in the first time, I let it drop for a few weeks or even months before I get back to it. If I enjoy it very much, I can complete it within a couple of weeks with hours between 50-100, it depends if I hung around doing nothing, left the controller for a while, solving puzzles, or did a bunch of sidequests and level grinded.

Shooters and stealth take me about only a couple of days. Because most I've played are short...

Gosh, I've finished 2 games in 2 days before, and other games it's taken me years to complete (with looong gaps of course). I have hours into the 100s (not sure whether it's 200 + or more) on Pokemon Crystal. Sometimes I never finish a game. So it truly does vary.

I like playing sim/sport sim games so technically the game really never ends. In some games that have a 15 season limit, you can pretty much switch over to another teams and start over with a brand new cast.

But with RPGs and strategy games, it takes me a fair portion of the year...like 8 to 10 months even though I play roughly 3 hours a day. :(

Most games take me a complete month to finish them while others I have a tendency to play them but then lose interest in them for a few weeks until I get in the mood to play them again.

crisis core and kingdom hearts 1 tok me 15 hours to complete the story just kept me interested and prevented me from putting down the controller

Hm, the last time I remembered, it took me almost a year, about 9 months, to be specific. I took my own sweet time to go through the game, spending quite some time to read the conversations that transpired. Plus, occasionally, leave the game alone for long times (When I get sick of it)...

Well, when it all added together, it came to be about the time above. I think if I rushed through without bothering about the storyline, it would be a lot shorter. Note, a lot.

It's dependent on the genre of game, a typical RPG could take me anywhere between 50-80 hours, FPS's normally have a short storyline between 6-10 hours but have online which could add up to 200+ hours easily and essentially are endless, the same goes with sports game you could just keep going and going, it depends on how hard a game is as well, an easy game would take much less longer than a harder game, like the Last Remnant >_>

Usually it takes me around a couple of months to finish a game.

Considering I don't live at home anymore and I have a lot of other commitments it means that gaming is often put to the bottom of my list and these days I'll be lucky if I get to play a bit of a game during a month.

I think my interest in gaming has dropped a bit over the years as well. It kind of seems trivial when you have a lot of other things to do.

There's also more effort involved in playing a game then there is watching a movie. XD

Well, I guess that really depends on three main factors: What type of game it is, how much time I have to spare, and how into the game I am.

RPG's, ect take up the most time for me given the fact that they are...well, RPGs. Also, when playing such games I'm usually a perfectionist and take a bit longer (if not ALOT longer). I beat alot of shooter games in a day, where as it took me a couple months to finally finish the main story on Oblivion. Yes, months <.>

If I have alot of things going on at the moment, obviously I can't play alot of games. Sure I get a little face time in with my screen, but nothing major. I seem to have beaten alot of games these past two weeks, as I havn't had anything really on the line.

How involved I am in the game effects just how quickly I'll finish it, such as, if the storyline is deep and I actually feel a part of it, them I'm alot more likely to finish the game quickly because I don't want to dick around messing with pointless things. I beat Alone In The Dark in a day (note that's not very impressive given the storyline wasn't that long) simply because I enjoyed playing the game, it was creative anad involving. I didn't want to put down the controller :gonk:

It depends on what type of game is it and if i'm interested enough in finishing it. I always loved final fantasy but i usually only finish the story, if there's too many sidequests i just don't bother doing them. Most of the time though when i get a new game i tend to finish it the same week i got it.

Two or three days if I'm interested in the game, otherwise several weeks. I beat the main storyline in Fallout 3 in about three days, finding every hidden area took over a month.

it depends, sometimes ages
with FF i play it to death lol
like on FFVII atm I ain't stopping until I get every peice of Materia & master it
never bothered about it before but for some odd reason i feel compelled too :L

How long it takes me depends on the following:

a) The type of game it is
b) Whether I've played it before or not
c) How many sidequests and collectibles there are, and how do-able they are
d) How into the game I get

On average, I'd say the storyline of a game takes me 10 hours or under, regardless of what genre it is. There are obviously those that go over that, but there haven't been many of them recently. To complete something 100% could take me anything over 30 hours depending on what there is to collect and what it is. I swear, I will never get all of the battle trophies in Star Ocean 4...

In the case of some games, like Pokemon, completing everything requires so much time that you can spend years on end playing the games over and over again.

Usually my first time around I don't really focus on the sidequest get the best weapons, etc etc so first time around I mainly focus on the storyline and whats going on which idk however long it is XD maybe a little over 10hrs? XD but if im playing it for the 2nd time around I usually take a longer time.

I have these horrible habits where I pick up and tell myself I'm going to finish a game, play straight for a few days, then it gets less and less and I get bored with it. =/

Like I said in the 'what-are-you-currently-playing' thread, I have bad habits of getting bored of games real quickly. Even Final Fantasy VII, my favourite game, I have trouble finishing it, it takes LONG for me to actually finish a game, and several half way through plays on other games in between before I finish one.

It's kind of upsetting. -_- I always find myself wishing I could get lost in games like some people do, and just relax from real life. But no... -__- Kira gets bored.

Never been a HUGE gamer, though I wish I was. =/
