I thought I was pretty good...but tonight was um, a disaster. I cooked Johnny Marzetti casserole and for awhile I was doing pretty good. Took out the dish out of the oven...ack, pasta's not tender yet, but the rest tasted fine. Then out of nowhere I added tomato paste...sampled it...uh oh, big mistake. I add more salt and some Ragu sauce...a little better but not quite. Added more mozerella cheese on top...put it back in the oven for 5 more minutes...dinner is served.

I take a bite...and literally winced. Not what I was expecting at all. =[ It sucks too that everyone's trying to be polite and saying "It's good, seriously" when I know better. The pasta tasted dry and I think there was too much cheese. Or maybe it was just the wrong kind of cheese. =/ Stupid tomato paste ruined it though.

At least my daughter was honest though. ^^ She said, "I don't like it, Mommy" and pushed the plate away from her. xDD

I made her eat though.

Well, I can't cook. Too lazy for it, lol. The only things I cook are eggs and soup. Other than that, I can't cook. I'd love to learn though, but I just don't have the patience for it.

That'd funny. It doesn't sound like it was really too bad, though. Personally, I'm not the best cook, but I like to think I'm not bad at it when I do. I know when I took a Home Ec. class I made some good won ton soup. :D
Every so often I end up making pasta for me and my girlfriend (okay, only twice so far), and I thought it was really good the first time around. The second time wasn't quite as good, but we didn't use all the same ingredients. It interests me, but it doesn't seem like it'd be my field of expertise.

I'm okay I guess, I've screwed up before as in it hasn't turned out like the recipe but I've never screwed up a dish to the point where it tastes repulsive.

I don't cook too often but I enjoy it, there's something satisfying about eating something you just made.

I am a good cook. You should have boiled the pasta before putting it in.

I have the cooking development of a two-year-old child. My best dishes are baked-beans on toast and toasted chocolate-marshmallows, sort of awesome. I can toast marshmallows to near perfection without burning the edges making them irresistibly delicious. I’m basically the toasting marshmallow king. I can also cook up a nice curry.

Lmao @ Ukitake. Real quality post that.

Anyyywaaay, I can't cook. Well. I can do basic things like...putting potato waffles and chicken burgers into an oven for like...25 mins at 200degrees whatever.

I can also put things in the microwave!

That's about it. I can't cook, whatsoever 8D

I did. -_-

I really have a hard time making my ground beef have that flavor, so next time, I'm not broiling it. >.>

Apparently though, everyone had two more servings (I didn't hang around the kitchen since I was already annoyed at my cooking) ...so maybe it wasn't that bad. I'm just highly critical of my own cooking.

I got into cooking during this year, when I needed something to do to sort of clear my head. I started watched the Food Network a lot, and I started making things taste properly. =P

I think a lot of starting to cook is all about following a recipe. Once you get started in that, you start experimenting and such. Mits, I've certainly had an experience like that with everyone saying "Aw it's good", but I know better. =P

When I cook, though, I don't like people hanging around me telling me what to do. I was making a stew and my roommate started going on about adding more meat and potatoes, which causes the bottom of the stew to burn...then he acted like it was my fault. >_>

At any rate, I love it. I'm not an expert yet, but I've made plenty of good stuff. I'm getting a KitchenAid mixer for my birthday. =P

I think this will speak for itself...

I once lit a bean stew on fire...

All I had to do was heat some oil with red pepper and flour for one minute and put it in the stew, turns out I heated it for 3 minutes :D As soon as I poured the oil in the stew the whole thing caught fire!!! I acted quickly and put it out with water, but the stew was ruined... I had to eat it all by myself as punishment vv

I can't cook. I can't even microwave food sometimes. I caught easy mac on fire because I thought all you had to do was microwave it, but I guess you have to add water first.

Where I live, everyone has a night where they cook dinner to make things fair. My night is Thursday and let me tell you, no one looks forward to my night. Last Thursday I made meatballs and pasta. I tried it and I threw up in my mouth. No one else would try it so we ordered pizza instead.

Hehe, maybe you can take a course or something, I however am lucky that my brother is a chef and don't have to learn to cook :P

I'm a poor cook, I can throw a sunday dinner together and by some kind of miracle it tends to come out ok, although the occassionaly has a few small lumps in it, oh and I can usually get chicken fajitas right

Other than that I tend to burn everything I come across, and if it's cooking from like recepies Im generally doomed because I don't understand it and/or get the measurments all wrong >_>

I could burn salad D:

I'm shite. The most technical thing I can work in the kitchen is the microwave -_-
However, in caterting at secondary school I was okay, I mean, I managed to MAKE and cook a pizza, biscuits and pancakes so there is still hope for me yet. :monster:

That looks like bum. :wacky:

I'm slowly getting better at cooking. I can make spaghetti bolognese, but it's been a while since I last did so I'd most likely mess up somewhere along the line if I had another go.
Other than that, I usually just manage simple stuff like cheese toasties and beans on toast. If I had a recipe to follow, I reckon I could manage fine though.

I'm not really good with cooking. I can make soup okay, and with pasta it varies...sometimes it's perfect, but other times, I et a load of soggy yellow pasta shells fused together and stuck to the pan >_>

Once I move out of my house, I'll probably starve, I have no idea how to cook at all. I only just learned how to turn the fecking oven on last week >____>

I'm not bad, but not at all great. I make eggs a lot, and I can do them pretty well, but aside from that, I can't do anything else really.

Eggs.. Yes. That's probably the only thing I can cook, besides just frying sausages. And rice. I can cook rice.

I can't cook because I don't cook at all. :gasp: I'm starting to regret not learning, actually. I'm looking 5 years from now when I'm independent and I see me buying breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. >_>

I'm not a good cook, in as much as I can't cook many things. But the things I can cook, I can cook quite well.
Them mostly being; pizza, burgers, chicken salad, curry, and a noodley thing with chicken.
I tend to put a lot of chillies and cayanne peppers in to make my food very hot, so they it disguises any bad taste.
I can also cook a decent proper breakfast. I once made the mistake of staying at a mate's house with some other friends but not going to sleep. So I had to cook breakfast as eveyone else was hungover, and I was only drunk. But I made eggs and bacon and toast and sausages and beans, grilled tomatoes and some oven chips. It was successful, but it was the only time I've made breakfast, so it was probably a fluke.

I am okay with cooking I guess. I can use the oven to bake things, the grill to cook hotdogs, and the stove to boil water for pasta. But as far as preparing ribs, steaks, and chopping vegetables sort of things... I don't do so well with that.
