Playstation Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer.

^Nice explaination there. I still say that for 5$ it is well worth it for the DLC. Even if you don't like it, 5$ is not a big loss compared to 60$.

I finally got the platnium trophy for this game! Yes I know this game is really easy to get a platnium trophy for but playing through the last 1/4 of the game to get the remaining endings with no cutscene skipping is a real pain.

I just finished this game for the first time. Got what i assumed is the good ending. Everybody alive the killer caught etc.
Tbh this is proabdly the best game ive played in years, if not ever. The controls were a bit awkward at time but man the storyline was awesome. SO many possibilities and outccomes. I probadly wont replay it again no for a while. Had i got an ending i wasnt happy with i wouldve replayed to get a better one but im a sucker for a happy ending so ¬_¬ its staying happy.
Hopefully a suquel will be in the making :ryan:

I got a good ending too, but this ending seems different to mine. :hmmm: Interesting.

I'd love another detective game by this team. Sadly if they were to do one it'll take a while as they don't tend to make games very often. So far I think they've made three (very good) games in 11 years, and they are I'm guessing quite a small company. That said they are rumoured to be developing Omikron 2 (a sequel to their first game). David Cage I think said he wants to step away from the dark detective stories for a bit too, so sadly (if that is true) it might be quite a long time until we see another game like Heavy Rain. :sad2:

The DLC for Heavy Rain will have to do for now. I just hope that the rest are a little bit longer than the first one was, though I don't mind much.

I think this game has the potential to change videogames forever. To me this was brand new and soo refreshing from the usual games we see.
Id love more games like this. Maybe some with a really creepy/horror aspect. But i loved the whole investigation aspect. And how i was never sure just how my decisons would affect the game.
What exactly does the DLC involve argor?

There are set to be quite a few DLC packs. I think they're all set to be prequels following the characters from the game.

The first one, which is out now, is a prequel following Madison Paige. She is investigating a suspect for the origami killings. She ends up in this
really creepy house where a taxidermist lives
, who is a
creepy killer
in his own right. So you essentially play a few scenes; arriving, finding out that
something is wrong and finding bodies
, then
him arriving and you trying to escape
.

I put spoilers up just in case people didn't want to read it, but I haven't revealed much anyway and it doesn't affect the main story of the game itself so it doesn't matter much either.

The other DLC packs will be following different characters. One is set to follow Norman Jayden, and another one is to be playing as the killer, possible doing the killings.

They're just little extra scenes. Nothing too huge, but fun to play anyway. If only they were free though. :sad2:

I tried this game earlier this week. Unfortunately the game kept crashing/freezing at the same part and I was never able to get past it. Has that happened to anyone??

Just so you know just how bad of a time it was for the game to freeze, it was right as Ethan is getting the thing out of the locker. There I left it vague enough so its not a spoiler, but seriously that's like right where the game was starting to get intense.

Gah... The game was very jerky for me at times, though it still let me play. It seems that for some people the PS3 was having a hard time loading all the different things in the game. I've not heard of it causing the entire game to freeze though. Could your disc be damaged? See if you can get it replaced if you can't get it to work past that bit.

Actually I did a bit of research and it seems that after the patch was released some people's games would crash on them but as for it not letting me past that part no matter what I'd have to say the disc was probably bad. It looked fine but you never really know with a rented game. =/

I never had a single problem with the game freezing etc. Eerything went completely smooth. By any chance do you both have the old 'fat ps3's?

Aye. My PS3 is obese. :brooding:

It has a fantastic ass though. :monster:

Perhaps it is only a problem with the 'fat' PS3s. That sucks though. Surely they must have designed the game to run on the 'fat' PS3s originally as it had been in development for years, longer than the slim PS3 models were out. It's annoying how as soon as slim PS3 models take over the fat models realise that they are very fat, get heart failure, have difficulty breathing and nothing runs smoothly anymore. :sad2:

Yea, mine's an original 60gig launch model. So chances are it could just be getting old. :( But if that's the case why would I only have problems with Heavy Rain? I'm counting on the problem having just been with the disc, or if it was really something with the game itself then hopefully there will be a patch out soon.

I've had no problems like that. The only time my game tends to freeze is only if I try to go back to the main menu before the chapter finishes loading. Sounds to me that it my be your copy of the game. Have you tried it on someone elses PS3?

So i borrowed my friend's 80gig PS3 and I've played through Heavy Rain once already. <33

OMG!

Even though I already knew who the O.K was it was still SOOOO intense! D:

Unfortunately most of my characters met terrible ends but I still thoroughly enjoyed it and am playing through it a second time right now trying to get even closer to the Plat, only 10 more trophies to go DDDx

Anyone scene the deleted scenes where...

1.
Shelby kills off his mother in the hospital by suffocating her with a pillow
2.
Ethan's blackouts originally had him underwater in a "nightmare" just aimlessly swimming around until he came across the body of a victim of the origami killer
3.
Ethan goes to take to Shaun to school finding a letter saying his son will disappear
4.
Madison would go to her newspaper office after every mission to research, talk to her boss and write articles

Also...

Warner Bros. have fast tracked the film adaptation of cinematic interactive fiction title, Heavy Rain, which despite causing us to boggle so hard our hats fell off, actually exists.

Variety reports that Deadwood and NYPD Blue writer David Milch, currently working on the horse-racing series Luck, will write the adaptation.

The film is being produced by Unique Features, also behind the upcoming Shiver and The Mortal Instrument, and founded by Lord of the Rings producers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne.

A film of such a film-like game seems a little redundant, but perhaps it’ll focus on unexplored aspects of the story. Heavy Rain’s game script was 2,000 pages long, so there’s plenty of material to work with.

I have not beaten this game and I have not gotten very far either, but this game is great! Gosh! I just want to keep playing for hours. So interactive and just keeps me wanting more!
Graphics are beautiful, story is very mysterious and it gives me that feeling, etc. I'm blown away, I don't even know what else to write. lol

That's all quite interesting. It's a shame that those scenes weren't in the game as they could have been fairly interesting scenes to see, I think.

As for the film... I personally would prefer them not to create a film version. I'd rather them not fix a canon form of the story, as the great thing about Heavy Rain was the players being able to alter the fate of the characters and the storyline, and for each ending to feel like a genuine ending which work just as well as each other.

With a movie, all of that is lost and it is quite a betrayal to all of the players who have now played through the game with different endings.

This is the only game which had me glued to the screen from beginning to end. I literally finished it in 24 hours because I didn't want to go to sleep until I knew the ending. It was amazing, I love it!
It is also the only game I went back to to try and get all the trophies. I don't usually care about things like trophies but I had to complete it for Heavy rain!!

The ending was great and it shocked me and really had me on edge.
I do have some things to nitpick about it but nothing major, overall its an amazing game!!
