Don't know if this has been posted but:

A 15 year-old Richmond High School student was gang raped by at least four different individuals while a crowd of 15 people, all males, watched for more than two hours as the annual homecoming dance was under way inside the school in San Francisco, California.
“Based on witness statements and suspect statements, and also physical evidence, we know that she was raped by at least four suspects committing multiple sex acts,” said Lt. Mark Gagan of the police department in Richmond, California.
“As people announced over time that this was going on, more people came to see, and some actually participated,” Gagan said. “We have checked Facebook and YouTube to try to find any revealing evidence. We’re looking in particular to see if anyone posted any video of the incident.”

Three more men were arrested in connection with the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl outside a Richmond High School homecoming dance. The latest arrests, according to CBS 5, include a 21-year-old man and two teens, 16 and 17. Their names have yet to be released.
This brings the total number of people arrested to five, including the ugly 19-year-old Manuel Ortega. An estimated 10 people took part in the rape, with an estimated two dozen people egging it on.
Richmond police are ponying up a $20,000 reward for information leading to arrests. "The $20,000 award is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the attack," said. Lt. Mark Gagan. You can call reach the Richmond Police Department at 510-233-1214.

WOW . . . What the fuck is wrong with people these days? This has gone to another new level.

What is there to say? People are really FUC*ING stupid nowadays...
There are no moral standards, no code of ethics, no courtesy, no true love, nothing that is pure and innocent exists anymore. If it ever even truly did...

Sick bastards. I dont who is sicker, the ones who raped the poor girl or the sick twisted fuckwits who watched! These people make ke feel so damn angry Im hitting my poor laptop keys here!!! Just OMFG, how dare they rob that poor girl of something so valuable, the bastards need to be strung up and feed to dogs!!!

Sorry, stories of rape get to me. And I want these ... no not men ... these animals to get every last fucking thing coming to them!!!

Um, are you sure about that? TBH, I don't think you actually thought about what you were going to write before you wrote it. All those things do in fact still exist. There are moral people, there are people who are truly in love etc etc
Just my opinion though.

Anyway, this is still a horrible story. Not something you really want to hear about but stuff like this happens all the time unfortunately. Maybe they are sick and maybe they are stupid. Or it maybe that these people just aren't in tune with what society is like these days, for whatever reason that may be.
Let's hope they are suitably punished.

I think the fact that three of them are 21, 19 and 17 sickens me alone, that's quite an age gap, especially when she's only in high school. What's worse is that ten took part from what I've just read, they all need their balls chopping off, including those that watched. It's disgusting.

I can't believe people stood and watched and not oneof them thought to even DO anything, it's a horrendous enough experience without having peole watching like it's some kind of show for them. Every last one of them needs locking up

God I feel jaded. Its stories like these where I shrug the first time around through, and then say wait.. that's really messed up. If this stuff is set to be unpunished, without any repercussion to the ones found guilty, other than jail time. The system is completely broken.

I have lost faith so many times in humanity.. but these fellas.. well I could think of places to put them. I'm tired of hearing stuff like this though.. so I'll choose not to voice anything more.

People seriously watched, and then participated?! How could they? Was the look on the girls face funny? Were her pleas just something that egged them on? Disgusting. They should all be thrown in jail for the rest of their lives. Or the Death Penelty or SOMETHING. How can people do this? I wonder... do they even feel remorse?

Psychology calls it the bystander effect. When something tragic or traumatic that's happening stuns more than two people, it becomes less and less likely for more bystanders to do anything but just stand by and watch. Everyone's waiting one each other to do something about it, but they just end up doing nothing but waiting.

I say nay nay! I say all those sick fucks shared something that tied them together that made the sick display into a circus ring: being depraved. Honestly, what goes through YOUR mind when you see a woman being raped?

Just cuz 4 out of 5 people like gang rape doesn't make it right.

4 out of 5 people like it?? Where did you get that from? How anyone can like it is disgusting enough, but 4 out of 5?!

Just unbelievable. Im losing faith in mankind. I know rape has been happening for years and wills adly continue to do so. But it just makes you hate some people!

I've heard that it's 9 out of 10. The joke being that the 9 are the rapists and the tenth is the one being raped, for all of those that didn't understand what Caedus meant. Anyway this wasn't the bystander it was a gang rape, gang being operative word. She was raped by gang members and the people watching were either gang members or just scared of being jumped by the gang. Police think that people may have walked past on the street and seen something, however they don't know that anyone walked past. Also the girl was semi conscious at the time, so she wouldn't have been able to fight, so if anyone had seen it they wouldn't have known that it was rape.
I think it's far too easy to just go on about declines in moral standards. Rape is a part of life as is murder, it always has been and always will be.

What is the world coming to? I've already read today that a teen had her dog stamped to death for no reason at all, and now I don't think I've read it's intentional, but whether it's intentional or not makes it morally wrong. This is just upsetting the balance of the world and maybe soon we'll be caught up with it, and can do nothing about it except for just standing and watching it all happen. And most people would do that rather than be heroic and stuff.

Honestly, it's just sad.

....
I'm sorry, how many people were watching?!
That poor girl, I feel so bad for her. Rape is a total violation of body and mind, those guys are disgusting. She was only fifteen, too.

Just several guys having sex with a limp, unresponsive girl who isn't making much noise. -_-

What sucks is that this happens all the time. I could say how upset i am by this, but i wont. Because i just don't want to right now. But it's really sad humanity is still like this.
MAybe in a few decades or so we'll start to learn.

Ugh... How could somebody DO something like that? Jucst goes to show that this place is f' ed up. Don't they have any pride? That's just wrong... She has my sympathy. ):

The sick thing is that this isnt just an isolated incident. It isn't always gangs. Sometimes its supposed respectable college types. The thing that makes me sick about this is that if the girl survives she will never be emotionallly right again.

Disturbing story. I saw a feature on the news where law enforcers were defending the actions (or lack of action) of the group who sat back and watched the rape.

They'd said something along the lines of...

"Nobody wants to be the one person who goes against what everyone else is doing. They were probably afraid they'd be the next target."

Give me a break. That's a piss poor excuse. Discretely leaving to notify the authorites would not have been a daring move among a group of over twenty people.

And...

"In the heat of the moment, people panic and don't do what's right."

Huh? The rape lasted over two hours. Standing around and watching (some were even cheering to my understanding) a rape for two hours is not a product of panic.

This disturbs me. That poor girl. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, and those repercussions of something so gruesome won't go away for a while. God, I hate people who do that, and I'm disgusted with those who watched. I understand the bystander effect thing, but how someone could watch an innocent teenage girl being raped for over two hours is obviously disturbed. Whatever the rapists get is too good for them.

I have theory on what to do with these "men". Me and a couple of friends were talking this past weekend about sex offenders(mainly of children but all are bad) and what should be done about them, in a punishment kind of stand point. The main theory we were debating about was something called chemical castration. In which they basically make your genitalia completely unusable....forever. No magic pill, nothing.

Now I know what you are thinking what is there to debate? Just give it to the bastards and call it a day. But you cant think like that(unfortunately) mostly because thats not a very humane way of thinking. You have to think of the future. Lets say some guy rapes a girl, they are both the same age and he just rapes her. He was drunk at the time (stupid excuse but what most rapist probably use) and says that he didn't mean to do it. Well the courts say they dont care and chemically castrate him and put him in jail for 10-15 years. All right now fast foward 10-15 years, he gets out and now what? This man basically is a broken person, he can never have children, probably never get married (if he does she would be one accepting person), and never experience the pleasure of sex again. All for one mistake he made.

Now dont get me wrong I am not siding on the guys side, I am just saying that there is a lot to think about when it comes to this topic.

Anyway I think they people who did this should be punched in the penis for doing this, and the people who sat there and watched should be punished too. I dont care about the whole 'bystander effect' shit, if not one person in a whole group of 15 people couldn't or wouldn't stop this from happening there is something wrong with the world, and it starts with our youth.

Would it have been so hard for one of them to sneak away and call for help or something!!!

There is truly no excuse to allow something like this to happen unless you're physically tied down or something and don't have the means to do anything but watch.

I know that in the heat of the moment it would be hard to know what to do and hope that someone else did something so that no one would come after you etc, but this was not something that happened quickly.

It was something that went on for two hours and during that time someone should have got the courage to do something about it, even if it was discreetly so that they didn't get chased after etc.

It wouldn't be that hard to slip away from a crowd that were clearly focused on the rape.

Quote from Mean Girls which I quite believe in:

There are two kinds of evil people in this world. Those who do evil things and those who see evil things and don't try to stop it.

Don't know where that quote came from originally. <_<
