I know we have a few married/engaged people.
It never occured to me how much like hard work planning it was, it's took us forever just to draft a guest list, and even then there's too many people, we've got a list for day time guests a list for evening guests, how many kids (ive put a ban on any children outside of immediate family, im not being over run by children) its going to cost a fortune. We've agreed on a venue at least, though we were at loggerheads at one point over a place I discovered then changed my mind on, which he was dead set on... luckily he saw the light when we went there and I got my own way
A friend asked me what I was doing for 'favours' I was like... come again, what the fuck are they? I was outraged when I discovered that on top of everthing else, I need to get all the guests some form of gift too
There's so much I hadnt thought about, or at least how much there was to think about
Do we need wedding cars, will we be staying over somewhere so we dont need cars?
We need to see if we can get a registrar and a venue that are avaialble on the same dates
Not only do we need invites, but 'save the date' cards too
Then theres the catering, actually getting everyone to RSVP, DJ, flowers
My heads in a right spin lol
Share any wedding planning stories? And just to open it up to the rest of the forums, would you even consider getting married? What would you're ideal wedding be?
I have my colour theme sorted at least, I want my bridesmaids in TARDIS blue, I think Il have the flowers a different colour though as blue flowers, after a quick google search dont actually look that nice
We're also having it at the science and industry museum in manchester, we can hire the steam train they have ;D
I also plan on having some computer game/tv related theme, maybe in the food, and some of the table decorations. I want our personalities in it, and not just the generic albeit very nice and respectable get up that most folk tend to go for
Other than that though, Im generally at a complete loss. Im not the most organised of people at the best of times
And we still haven't picked a date....arghhhhhh

I personally have never been a fan of the ideal wedding, nor a busy one.
Preparing such a long list of things just seems like more trouble than it's worth - I'd like my wedding to be as stress free as possible, and quite simple.
I see myself getting married somewhere small, with only my parents, his parents and our grandparents present. I may extend the invite to aunts and uncles, since I really wouldn't want one of my aunts to miss the wedding, but I'm not close to the majority of my extended family, so I'm not entirely sure.
Seriously, this restaurant is the best place on earth!
I'd consider hiring the place out for the evening so that we could have a private celebration there. We know the owners fairly well - we've been going there for years - and I'd actually quite like to share the experience with them as they host a fantabulous three course meal!
I'm hoping we can do it next year, but with the kitchen and bathroom if that doesnt happen, it doesnt happen, we've got all the time in the world to save for an amazing day really

I want to be cheap but not that cheap!
