Final Fantasy Old Folks Home?

I was just daydreaming the other day and then I read something that sparked this thought: What do you think the heroes of Final Fantasy do when they're finished saving the world? Does life just go back to normal? What's the fate of our beloved FF characters after the action is over? Is there an old folks home for ff heroes?

I mean the adventures were fun but I'm guessing that the romance between Squall and Riona from FF8 only lasted about a year because Squall was too depressing. But that's just an example of what I'm talking about. Everyone knows the end of ff7 because of the movie, but thats not all of the FF's...What do you guys think?
 
I like to think that it gets very dramatic and they go through divorces and open heart surgery.
However, they will probably live happily ever after la dee daa.
 
Do they live happily ever after? I'm not sure at all. Anything can happen I suppose if you put your imagination to it. Cloud may be living with Tifa and doing deliveries until he is ninety, or something can happen that can change his life. Again. They might start lottery schemes and Cloud may win, becoming rich and ditching everyone.

According to FFIV, old folks' homes don't tend to exist or be used. FFIV: The After Years shows Cid as an old man still living in that same house he lived in for nearly 20 years with his daughter, son-in-law and a granddaughter (I think).
 
I dunno probably they spend the rest of their lives as normal people living in a house in the country with cows and lots of chickens
 
For characters such as Cecil I guess they'll become wise old men, or kings. And when they get really old they'll probably keep their mind (see FuSoya).

For characters such as Cloud, he'll go absolutely insane, senile, and he'll be in a wheelchair (like old times, eh?) somewhere.

I don't think there are any old peoples homes depicted as the focus of the games are on the youth of the main cast of characters, but that isn't to say they don't have some sort of place old people can go. I'm sure heroes that saved the world will be treated quite well.

Haha That would be funny. You can just imagine Cloud and Squall sitting in the sane dark corner cutting their wrists. Oj. I actually dont really care to be honest, i just assume they live happily ever after :/

Seriously though, I figure they mostly all just grow old and die after a nice happy life after all the turmoil..
 
But just think about it guys! You assume they all live nice happy lives but if it's that easy for their worlds to get into that much chaos, do you really think it won't happen again? I mean seriously, there isn't just one loony trying to take over worlds and crap...The heroes of FF may even go their entire lives fighting enemies....man that would suck. and all the romancy stuff, you know it's not lasting more than 2 years. Rinoa dropped Squall and turned lesbian due to summoning Siren too many times. The women of FF can't be attracted to femininw guys that much!

There is always some building getting blown up some way or another....I'll just assume that those destroyed buildings were the FF old homes.

I think that they do have lives and that after they save the world or defeat their respective enemies, they try to return to a life similar to what they had. Like for example, Cloud. He delivers things for people who can't leave Edge due to the monsters that are roaming about. After what happens with Kadaj and his gang, and then Sephiroth, he returns to the lifestyle untill Dirge, where he helps Vincent.

I think that they just return to their respective lives, doing whatever they were doing, or if they can't, they try to do something new, like go exploring the world or something.

^^ I say there should be a reunion like the aftermath just so we can see how the characters are doing and whats going on you know?? That'd be cool.
I can't really say it depends because every final fantasy has different characters, story lines and whatnot so their endings would be different from each others.
Idunno about you guys but I'd go on vacation and then request to have a statue of me and my companions so that we'll be known from generation to generation. Sounds selfish but hey, I saved the damn world it's the least I should get for my hard work XD.
 
Well I'd hope that they wouldn't go straight to the old folk's home shortly after saving the world! I mean most are about 16-22 years old! lol

I'd imagine that most would settle down afterwards.

FF1 heros: They got screwed because no one even remembered what they did.

Cecil: He and Rosa would have gone on to rule their kingdom, so he'd be pretty busy afterwards.

Bartz: Hmm probably settled down, maybe with Lena. I'd imagine him living easy if that were the case. And for some reason, I could see him enjoying the fame he got from saving the world.

Terra: This one is more difficult given the world that she would live in. Life would not wouldn't be easy for any of the cast of VI realistically. But she probably went back to help care for the orphens. And I'd hope that she'd relocate everyone to a more populated place because it couldn't be easy living secluded in a destroyed town.

Cloud: Well we see in Advent Children that he owns a delivery business and pretty much keeps to himself. I can see this with him. I mean, he's appreciative of his friends, but I can see him needing a lot of alone time. And, sadly I don't see Cloud living a very long life. Maybe to about his 50's.

Squall: Settled down with Rinoa and I could imagine then having a family and Squall being a stereotypical military father.

Zidane: Lived the good life by settling down with Garnet. For some reason I could see Garnet being the working mother as the queen and Zidane being the stay at home dad. XD

Tidus: Depending on which ending you get in X2, either dead or settles down and marries Yuna. I see them having two kids and Tidus being part of Wakka's blitzball team.

Vaan: went to be a sky pirate.
 
I don't know if anyone here has played Secret of Evermore, but there's a weapon/armor shop in the town of Ebon Keep that's run by a retired Cecil and Rosa from IV (the game was also made by Square :)) You can see Cecil in this walkthrough vid at about 6:00:

I guess its all smiles and laughter all around. Would be nice to know the characters went about their lifes happily, look at FFX2. Lulu and Wakka FINALLY get together and have a baby and Yuna decides to hunt for Tidus. Zidane is reunited with Garnet and hopefully Squall and Rinoa reminded together forever as no one else would put up with him XD
 
I'd hope that Cloud would finally get grip and realise that being depressed is getting him nowhere and that he should start living his life again and maybe even start a relationship with Tifa. However, I can see Tifa leaving him because of the way he is. I don't think he will ever fully recover from Aerith's death and that itself would weigh down heavily on any relationship they tried to have sadly. =/

I can't see Squall and Riona going too far either. I can see Rinoa get fed up with his isolated self and ditching him for someone hunkier and more outgoing. She just seems a bit shallow to me. >.<

I'd like to think that Tidus and Yuna would remain together after X-2 (depending if you get the good ending) and that Yuna would go back to the nice reserved girl she was in FFX. <_< She really needs to trade in those trampy clothes for something more ladylike. I couldn't see them settling down right away though. They seem a bit too energetic and like they still want to live life before any of that.

Just have to add: I can see Rikku and Gippal getting together too. <3 They make such a cute couple. Both are playful and I think they'd have a lot of fun adventures together before settling down anytime soon.
 
With Garnet, Freya, and Beatrix in charge of things. I could totally see Zidane, Steiner, Fratley, and Amarant standing outside drinking beer all day.
