FF Goofs and Oopsies

I have wondered what where some of the biggest Mistakes you have made in all the FF games, so I made this thread.

Post a screenshot, full story, short story, video or anything about the mistake you made playing any FF games(Including XI and XIV)


Mine is when I thought that I could beat Gilgamesh 2nd battle with a full party at level 40.....Yea......lesson here is save before you experiment

Biggest screw ups ive made in a FF Game?

FFIII: Not healing before the final boss and having to redo everything over again.

FFIV: not killing the attack Orb of the CPU.

FFIVTAY:Not doing any of the challenge dungeons!

FFXIII: Not using Fang/Snow during the raines boss fight. (And i guess to some people, using light,Hope and Vanille is a big No-No.)

FFXIII-2:....Probably trying to kill Giseric during the first v isit to Academia 400.

and for the big one!:

FFX: Not using the sphere grid properly.

FF VI. Doing Kefka's tower with only 5 good party members! God was that painful..

FFVII - Accidently giving Safer Sephiroth a Megalixir.
Happily running into Emerald weapon on disc 2 to see what the big swimming thing was.
Deciding to explore the Gelnika.
FFVIII - not reviving your party members quick enough during the final battle.:wtf:
FFXIII - deciding to try max out other roles in the fifth ark.
FFIII - attempting to kill the Cloud of Darkness before freeing the Dark Warriors.
FFII (NES) going too far south of Altair
FFVI - opening that chest with the Tonberry in. When your last save was about an hour ago.

FF VII - My memory card broke(my brother might have broke it, I don't remember) when I was halfway through & I had to start all over.

FF X - My brother owned the PS2. Since, I no longer lived with him, I never really got around to defeating sin. And, never really decided to buy a PS2 or a PS3 once I started gaming on PC and started playing old games that no one has probably even heard the name of.

Final Fantasy Tactics - There have been times I tried to anticipate the attack order of the characters in terms of who will attack next, & afterwards, & after that, etc, & got it wrong & my party died right before my character finally got around to casting flare or another attack with big damage / slow execution, which was pretty sad / funny in hindsight.

All in all, I would like to think my gaming skillz are pretty pro broz..

My mind is drawing a blank. I'm sure I've made plenty more, but...

FFVIII - Rubbing the "lamp" early in the game = getting severely pwned by Diablos ("WHAT THE HECK IS THIS DEMON??")

FFIX - Selling all of my weak weapons =being at a disadvantage in Ispen's Castle (I think?) because everything was opposite; weak weapons were uber strong for some reason >.>

FFXI - I've had MANY oops moments in this game! xD;
- Getting off my chocobo ride early & having to walk a full 30 minutes out of an area (30min IRL!! x_x)
- Screwing up my homepoints & having to waste gil on airship rides that take FOREVER to travel.
- Triggering aggro from some tough monsters by using an Area of Effect magic spell during a party (they were pissed at me afterwards btw since they all died while escaping)

So yeah.

FFVII: Going to fight Ultima weapon with everybody half health thinking that they would do fine and died in the first move.

FFVIII: Same as someone else "Ooooooo magic lamp...AHHHHH GOD GET IT OFF ME!"

FFIX: Luckily saved it but was playing a hard card game in which I misplaced one card in which he trumped all my cards in which he perfected me and I lost Ultima weapon, excalibur 2, odin, ark, bahamut which took me 5 hours to get

FF I - Not upgrading my classes with the dragon king. I traveled around the world forever with a weak ass party before I figured out I had an objective.

FF II - Actually trying to win that first battle! xD Getting emotionally attached to Minwu

FF III - Going in to fight the final boss without even being prepared. The first sub boss kicked my ass so hard I had no more potions.

FF VI - Actually attempting Kefka's tower with half my party missing. Revisiting that Doma castle and getting whisked into an inescapable dream place without even being partially prepared.

FFVII - Getting lost on the world map numerous times in Disk1.

FF VIII - Not properly learning how to junction magic until the end of disk 2. Went that whole portion of my first playthrough having battles be way harder than they needed to be. Tried fighting Seifer and Edea with only a little over 1500 Hp. xD Also that fucking magic lamp of Cid's did me in . Like who the hell would think a magic lamp could be so tricky?!

FF IX - I'm still stuck at Kuja's sand castle level because I can't beat that boss. I think i missed something while playing so I'll list it as an oops anyway.

FF Tactics - Trying to go through the game with just ramza. Had no clue I could add other people to my party by just pressing R2 . My biggest FF fail.

FF3 - not managing my healing well in the final dungeon.
FF6 - leaving an esper on Shadow when departing Zozo, Kefka's tower with 5-6 decent players, reflecting off the wrong characters (damn tower), lack of prep before Doma's dream sequence, forgetting to re-equip between party swaps
FF7 - poking fun at the ultimate weapons without preparing or saving, breeding the wrong chocobos
FF8 - grinding too much early on, oh look a lamp.. death, losing cards due to not reading rules
FF9 - sneezing during jump roping
FF11 - jumping off a chocobo in the wrong place/time, monster aggro in general, healing the wrong person
FF13 - thinking I could blitz every fight

FF Fails, I have quite a few to list here

FF1 - Getting lost on the map about 10 million times

FF2 - YES I CAN WIN THIS FIRST BATTLE...... No I can't

FF4 - OOOOO Cecil let fight..... 4 hours later ..... why can't I win oh wait, i don't attack

FFVI - WHERE THE HELL I'M GOING ON THIS WORLD MAP

FFVII - WHERE THE HELL AM I MEANT TO GO IN THIS TRAIN PLACE

FFVIII - WHERE IS THIS DAM HUGE DINOSAUR

FFIX - 1. Where am i going on this world map 2. why is beatrix beating my ass resets..... one hour later.... oh i'm not meant to beat her 3..... where auto haste...... oh you equip this 4. yeah i don't need status stopping abilities effects for this last boss...... well that was a mistake

FFX.... OOOOOO Dark Aeon....... well that ended well

FFXIII OOOOOOO Long Gui i can kill it.......... ONE HIT KO..... that ended well

FFXIII-2...... Don't need tortoise for the final boss.........yeah i'll change my mind on that

FFIX - Time to save....... NOOOOOO MY SAVE GOT CORRUPTED ON MY PSP....... my 50+ hour complete save gone

I havn't had many oopsies. But the few I have are interesting... somewhat

First one was final fantasy 7. It was when it had just come out and I was like 5~. I went to save my final and overwrote my dad's file. I think he was somewhere on disc 3. I was at the very beginning of the game. Imagine the irritation!

Final fantasy 8: *Grinds for 3 hours at beginning of game* OH LOOK A DINOSAUR! *game overs* "I quit." PS: Why is everyone saying that Diablos was hard. I beat him on the first try D: He can't really KO your party... I would just use Selphie's Full Cure.

Final Fantasy 9: I refused to beat any boss until after I've stolen everything I possibly could. I also never sold ANY equipment. I refused to leave Ipsun's castle (and still havn't) because of how amazing the grinding ability is there with the moogle. I also took a 1 year break from the game and decided to pick it up again. I had no idea what I was supposed to do and it gave me a headache ):

Final Fantasy 10: Yunalesca. That's all I have to say.

12: Putting it in my Ps2. hue hue. All joking aside: I overgrinded on this game. Easily dropped 100+ hours leveling all my characters.

13: I havn't played it enough for any real accidents.

Tactics: I had no idea you could have more than ramza in your party! That's pretty nifty!!
