FF characters must smell really badly

This is particularly true with FFXIII.

6 fugitives on the run from a government and a society after their blood with little opportunities to stop off somewhere to rest and wash, then temporarily marooned on a wild, harsh, unforgiving world where there appears to be little trace of other people around.

FFXIII's cast is certainly not one I will really want to hang around with. :monster:

You never see toilets or them needing to use the toilet either. It is a fantasy game though with dragons and teenagers holding weapons that probably weigh more than they do. Their hair also stays in shape even when underwater.

Maybe getting dirty doesn't exist.

Or maybe... watching them do their laundry and ironing would make for a bad game. :mokken:

There's toilets in the ShinRa building. :mokken: And bathrooms in small houses, definitely toilets though. :mokken:

They wash in springs, :mokken: Or at the sea shore. :mokken:

Kefka sits on the toilet at one point when he's
in jail in Vector
in FFVI :monster: And I think there may have even been a sink in there :gonk:

I think in some of the FFs at least, there are kitchen sinks shown which could at least provide water for bathing, even if they don't have soap :hmmm: And in FFIV there are lakes and rivers in a lot of the towns, where people could bathe the old-fashioned way. However, since some soaps IRL I believe are made from things like flowers, animal fats, and salts, and there are at least two of the three in some FF worlds, I think it's likely that they'd at least be able to make soap even if the heroes didn't ever get a chance to use it :hmmm:

Maybe there is a spell that recurs every FF game that the characters use to cleanse themselves. Although that might be a problem for a strictly non magic party.

This is particularly true with FFXIII.

Im sure Ive seen Lightning and the gang.......bathing at the waterfall on the path to Yacchis Massif.......maybe it was a dream?

Teenagers smell anyway......so nobody would have said anything anyway.

Bowl movements and urinal activity are not the most exotic aspects of Human life.......so why........"fantasize" them lol, if that makes sense?

They could bath in the inns. But if you only use tents... well I guess they could walk down to a stream...

Maybe they wash their clothes in hotels or in the streams...

Someone needs to draw a realistic fanart of the characters after a day of adventuring through the world.

Yes a realistic fanart and with sweat stains, stink lines and Flies about the place!

Good point Rids I always just assumed it just assume the party took care of such thing at the Inns and there fore removed the need to to display those.......actions in game.

Seeing as this is a final fantasy game and not a sims game I'd have to agree. They do stink. Alot of them take place in medieval settings. But Then again you never see them sweat so maybe sweating and BO don't exist in a fantasy world...

Of course there's the scene at Mt Gazaget where Yuna and the girls bath in the mountain hot springs...
smiles...

I doubt any FF characters smell.

The game just doesn't record every instance of their lives.

They do eat sometimes though :gasp: Like Sabin in VI on the Phantom Train, there's a whole meal set up there and stuff. And...well I hate to say it, but it has to go somewhere :hmmm: So naturally they'd have to wash or they would smell bad. And seeing as how sometimes there's some sort of attraction between party members, I doubt they'd want to smell bad if they didn't have to. Old-school soap would be the best thing, salts, animal fats, and flowers, they could even carry it with them, it's not particularly heavy :monster:

there's never any toothpaste in FF games, I wonder if Cloud has lots of cavities

also I seriously doubt the characters (female at least) would be willing to wash their clothes, cause you know, they only got one set each
