*Eureka Academy*

As they finally had arrived at the beach the amount of monsters on it somewhat scared Agatha a bit. Thou not being a person that get's easily scared she knew that if she messed up she would be scolded for it or worse.

"Agatha, since you will need the experience, you will be our primary attacker, and I will back you up with my abilities."

Eliane's very words about her position in this mission burned into her mind as she set herself too do it exactly like she said. Kissing her ring activated it from it's slumbering state as it started to glow a bright pink color.

"Understood."

Pink colored balls started to spread around her as she would be able to use theese as long ranged projectiles for any situation. She have never worked much as a main attacker, but she hoped that she would do a good job doing that.

She looked around the beach for any object she could use effectively with her mind. Since it was a beach it would naturally be some sort of object nearby that could be used as a weapon.

Her foot then crashed upon a pretty hard and heavy ball. She lifted it up and looked at it shortly before she decided to put some of the pink orbs on it and made the orbs pointy and sharp. Having it floating around her gave her the idea of making it spin to make it a dangerous bladed weapon.

She then used three of her orbs too become transparent and put themselves on her allies. This would make her weapon not be able to touch them as it would be terrible if they got hurt. Thinking of this she released a set of orbs too the others and made them follow them.

"If you do find a civilian please pin a orb to them. This will make my psychokinetic blades on my weapon not be able to hurt them in case I loose control over it. This is a huge if, but I would rather be safe than sorry."

She then flung her ball at the monsters cutting them and running through them with quite ease, but she would not be able to do this alone and she did not need too as she had Eliane's support.

"I have a orb following you and the others so my weapon can't hurt you. However the ball can still hit you but it won't be dangerous."

Ray was eating while he was waiting for Stella to come along. By the time he saw her, he was halfway through his meal already. He did notice that she was out of breath, but he chose not to fuss about it. He simply sent a gentle smile to welcome her. Kisharu also looked over to her because his senses smelled a nice piece of meat approaching him (NOT meant to be sexual). He smelled it strongly due to his natural sense of smell. It was well cooked, juicy, seasoned, and nearly perfect. When Stella apologized saying she had errands, Ray couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. "You know, you could have told me that you had those errands to run, I would have been fine with it." Not once did he ease up on the gentle smile he was giving.

As she pet Kisharu, he was wagging his tail and panting from the heat. His hair was a bit long, and to be in a room as crowded as this was rather hot, but it was clear that he was fine. He was relaxed. As her hand touched his head, he looked up at her and started to lick her hand. Ray let out a laugh. "Just don't let me get in your way or I'll feel like a burden."

-------Arukab-------

Yes Veerle, a word. You were very late today for class. I just wanted to give you a warning. Today will slide, but in the future, you will owe me class time. No go off to lunch if you like." Arukab was being brief and to the point. For someone of her reputation, that was what he thought would please her.

OOC SHort Arukab post is short, but I ran out of inspiration

Athena listened to her orders calmly as Eliane said them. She was ready and prepared to fight for the peace of Eureka. That was her just reward. She was here to keep order. The glory of her fellow students and the pride of being a member of the Disciplinary Commitee was a nice addition, but that was all it was.

Glancing around, she decided to use magic in this particular mission. Most of the monsters had claws and teeth as opposed to anything long distance. Fighting with her sword could be dangerous when compared to using magic, which was long distance. She couldn't protect civilians if she was injured.

Letting the magic fill her, she clenched her hand into a fist as she was invigorated, body and soul, by the powerful magic of the water and air. Her body was hit by a freezing blast of clarity, as though she had been hit with a bucketful of cold water. She prepared to let the magic loose as it filled her form.

Glancing around coolly, she spied a trio of wolves stalking the beach, closing in on a group of men and women on the beach, backing them in towards the pier, made of hard grey stone. The people were terrified, backed up into the ledge of the pier. Some had been quick enough to dive into the nearby sea, but most were frozen with fear, unable to do anything but watch as the wolves approached, yellowing teeth dripping hot saliva, scarlet eyes full of bloodlust and uninhibited fury.

Athena decided to deal with these beasts first. Letting her hand act as a channel for her magic, she observed the sparks of magic dancing around her palm. Her eyes fell onto the first wolf, and with an unnatural snap and an agonised howl, the hound fell to the ground, its scarlet eyes dim and dulled, without light, its neck twisted at an unnatural angle. Athena's telekinesis had broken its neck.

The next wold turned and leapt at Athena's throat. A jet of fire flew from the air, solidified, and impaled the wolf through the stomach. Its furry form burst into flames, and, with a howl, it collapsed to the ground, charred and dead.

An arc of wind flew at the final wolf, lifting it into the air. Further blades of wind sliced into it, cutting into her body, blood spilling from the thick wounds the elements inflicted on it. It dropped to the sand, its blood staining the surface the colour of rust.

Athena sighed and let another burst of magic fill her up again. It wasn't time to rest yet, and wouldn't be time until the mission was over. Setting off with the magical energies seething from her body, Athena prepared to start the massacre again.

Alan stayed to the top left hand side of the wagon as Nova began slaughtering any who opposed the completion of the mission. The massacre seemed senseless, but Alan knew on some level that Nova was showing them what life was really like in her eyes. She was being brutal and murderous to show the students that she was willing to do what it took to bring the mission to completion.

Even as a lump of fear and remorse rose in his throat, Alan already knew that he could not kill if it came to it. He would do his best to overpower the enemy, but he couldn't kill them. It just wasn't in his nature, in the end.

OOC: @Tipsy: Do as the others do, make up your own monsters, nothing to big, since this is the first mission and all.

IC:
"I have a orb following you and the others so my weapon can't hurt you. However the ball can still hit you but it won't be dangerous."

Eliane said, "Thanks." before turning to face two wolves with nothing more but her bare hands and her earth magic.

The wolf closest to Eliane ran towards her and tried to bite her in the throat, but Eliane, charged up with magical energy in her right foot, slammed her foot down at the ground, creating a wall of earth that shot up right on the wolf's head and sent it flying back to the ground. Eliane then kicked the wall of earth down, and crushed the wolf under the sands, killing it instantly.

The second wolf went in and tried to get at Eliane from behind, lunging in and attacking the back of her neck, but Eliane clearly dodged it and sent a knee right on the wolf's abdomen, breaking it's rib. The weakened wolf tried to attack again, but Eliane simply dodged and kicked the animal in the head, knocking it out.

Agatha could see Eliane was already in battle with a couple of wolves and she herself was starting to meddle with some herself. A pack of wolves had slightly approached her, but also a small group of violent birds. She knew that she might be able to take them out or atleast hurt them quite a bit, but she had to count on her teleportation for this bit.

The wolves rushed at her as she with her mind moved the spinning bladed ball swiftly towards them to cut them up badly, however some managed to jump back avoiding the ball and flanking her from the back pushing her over.

"Ugh.."

As she was knocked down her hairbands was ripped open making her hair fly into the sand and get all dirtied up. Being known for her perfect silky hair she was angry and displeased at her hair getting sand all over it and her eyes was glowing in a pink color.

"I should learn that using 4 hours on my hair is not wise before a mission."

She pushed herself up and looked at the wolves and the birds that had gathered around her and with one violent push she stood on her feet and swirled around sending the ball around her in a circular motion to damage the wolves severly.

The ball then came to her hand and she pushed the ball above her and released the nodes from the ball to impale the birds swiftly. The ball fell down into her hand as she teleported closer to Eliane again, getting ready too attack the enemies once again.

OOC: Lol, hey subs. You know, benevolent means kind and serene looking right?

Escaflowne

As expected, these monsters on the beach wasn't too much of a challenge. There were some monster crabs, uni urchins, giant sea slugs and a few stray feral dogs. Nothing too big, nor difficult for her, Eliane and Athena. It was also at a good level for Agatha. The crab scuttled in close for a flanking maneuver, trying to pincer attack her with their pincers. The first claw swished overhead as she leaned back while the second met with Touhou. Escaflowne lashed out with her leg, catching one in the eye before using the momentum to lift herself off the ground and onto the back of the blocked crab. With a twirl of her wrist, the sword came and orientated itself downwards over the shell of the crab. In one quick thrust twist, the sword stabbed deep into the shell, puncturing the other side before she tugged it out and flipped away.

Hm.... there are only a few left. Lets mop them up and go.

Escaflowne entered Battoujutsu stance, preparing as the monsters advanced.

So..which one wants to die first.....?

Maya

Her expectations was not disappointed. The garden was almost like Eden, in comparison to the dullness of her old metropolis school. There were little greenry there, besides grass and a few plant areas. This was on the other end of the spectrum, almost as if this was some mansion's private garden. Nonetheless, time was of the essence. Taking a seat at the picnic table Maya set her large bentou box out and untied the cloth, revealing a rather dandy looking black lacquer box.

Here we go... my triple decker bentou box. Let see....

The three sections were all different, which was a relief. From their reaction, it seem as Eluniel has no idea what japanese culture was, so she thought that maybe she would not enjoy her japanese cuisine.

Well, first level is the japanese stuff. Sushi, takoyaki, riceballs, optopus, susage wieners, egg omlette, teriyaki chicken, kaarage chicken....

Second level is sandwiches...of all kind i guess, plus potato salad...

last is... dessert! Creme brulee, mud cake, strawberry shortcake, berry and mixed fruit tarts and pavlova!

So....what do you want?

"Just don't let me get in your way or I'll feel like a burden."

"A burden? That's silly! I just get totally forgetful sometimes with all this work! I'm head of the Student Council so I get alot to do. But I always make time for friends." Stella spoke as she began eating.

The meal was delicious. Whoever she had stolen this lunch from, she would have to pay them back. The steak was juicy and tender and so flavorful as it slid down her throat. Kisharu the wolf sat there by it's master. The wold made Stella think about her dog back at home and how she was already getting a little homesick...

Krell

The headmaster had already written up the missions for the student council members to go on. He had to find out what exactly this whole "seacreature" business was all about. As he walke over to his window and stared out into the blue waters, he smiled as he saw the students fighting at the beach. "Ah those are fine warriors." He smiled as he knew that his students would definetly put on a great school year.

He took another seat at his desk and sank into deep thought. Sudden;y he knew the answer, someone must be up to something. Monsters just don't appear in oceans. He finally knew the answer and began to rewrite the missions he had assigned to the student council members. He would surprise his rival in every way...

OOC: I’ll try to get our story going somewhere, though all the character development is interesting it’s not really helping the story along.

IC:
"I think he is a really nice guy, and he got me out of a real jam, I feel like I owe him my life for it, I was so scared, still thinking about it... But anyway, yep, Krego seems to be a really good person, and talented." Sophia was talking but Ravona’s mind was pretty preoccupied. Though she was confident in her skills rewriting other people’s magic to suit her own it was impossible if she didn’t understand how it worked in the first place.
Therefore Ravona was currently recalling her past lessons on time manipulation, unlike most people believed time wasn’t a straight line. According to her master time was four dimensional, meaning that one would not just be able to travel inside it but also from one place to another without passing through what was in-between. Also master had explained that there were species of felines that experienced time differently than they did, the most prominent of those was a species of creatures that from the day they were born knew how their entire lives would unfold. But despite this knowledge these catlike beings never tried straying from what they knew would happen. Master had than tried to explain to Ravona their view on the world how destiny was fixed and they accepted it as it was. However to this day Ravona still didn’t understand how they could accept even their own death no matter how premature it was.
Such things only proved that time magic was not something that was easy to learn. Ravona’s current magic mostly involved cutting a part of time off the rest of time and create a separate environment that could be manipulated as the controller wished.

Ravona and Sophia then arrived back at the classroom. Mr. Krego was already waiting for them at his desk. Ravona nodded to him as a greeting before returning to her seat that she had also occupied previously.

Raistlin sat back in his dorm room and thought about the mission. It was fun, and at the same time, daunting. He knew he was strong, and that he had magical ability beyond most of his family members, he just didn't realize that it would make cold-blooded murder that easy.

Raistlin knew he would shake the feeling of guilt off. It was only a matter of time. Emotions are as easily manipulated as you want you want them to be. The first step on the path of greatness is to control your emotions. The second step is to block them completely, to the point where no one can know what you're planning.

Yet, he knew that he needed more training in that department. And at times, he wondered if he even wanted to follow that path. Those were his family's teachings, and even now, he was breaking them. If they found out that he was training himself in Scythe combat... They would disown him immediately.

“Enough pondering... I've got to get to the Disciplinary Committee room.”

Raistlin got out of his bed, got dressed, and left for the DC room.

Sophia

After Sophia finished speaking to Ravona, she looked over at her, and it appeared she had her mind on something else entirely. 'What's the point of asking me a question if she isn't going to listen...?' she thought to herself, as they headed back to the classroom.

They arrived there, then Ravona proceeded to be seated where she had been previously. Sophia sat up front as she could, as communicating from less distance is easier, and a considerable amount of it may be required since they are having a meeting, and she will be responding to his questions, and saying what she knows of her species, as he requested earlier.

"Hi, thanks for the lunch break, the sandwich I had was good, never got around to asking Ravona how hers was though." She greeted, as she was heading to sit down, then continued "I hope we haven't kept you waiting Mr. Krego, there was a pretty long line at the Cafeteria..."

Alan approached Nova, crouched, wary of any attacks from above or behind, conscious of the dead bodies littered everywhere. Nova's precise aiming had already taken many lives with almost effortless efficiency. Alan's breath was catching in his throat and fear mingled with adrenaline made his eyes bright and fearful.

"What are we doing?" whispered Alan. "Miss, is it really necessary to kill all these people? Can't we just slow them down or knock them out?"

_________________________________________________________
Athena wiped out a horde of deformed, beastial birds with a flick of her wrist, that sent crackling blue bolts of lightning flying into the air. The birds screeched as feather and flesh fried, and their fragile bodies burst into vibrant crimson flame.

Next, Athena turned coolly to another group of immense wolves, larger than the first group, more dominant clearly.

More quick too. A particularly large hound was charging at her already. Damn. No time to use magic on it. She would have to rely on more conventional methods of attack. Sheathing her sword, she grabbed onto its muzzle and swung acrobatically through the air, now using magic to root herself on the wolf's back without falling. More time now that she was out of the immediate danger zone.

Standing up as the beach and sea zoomed past in a blur of gold and blue, she drew her sword again with a calm movement, and aimed at the rampaging beast's throat. Her face a cold maskof nothingness, she plunged the blade down as the wolf's howl tore through the air, ending its life in a flash of silver and scarlet.

OOC: Okay, this has gone long enough...

IC:

Eliane saw another large bird flying towards her at high speed. Timing the velocity of the animal, Eliane, sidestepped, grabbed the wing and hit it's torso with it's knee before another kick to the head to bring it down. She looked around and saw that there were no more monsters (besides those dead) in the beach.

"Bien (Well), I guess that is that. Alright guys, our mission objective has been achieved, let us head back." Eliane said before turning and walking towards Agatha, who said, "Are you alright, Agatha?"

ooc; @ Lux and Gavin. My reply was on the previous page in case you are waiting for me.
A short one to conclude my fight.

Escaflowne

The last monster collapsed and laid still on the sand, a slow dripping of blood staining the white ground. It ws a mission complete. Hopefully, what they did was a a deterrent strong enough to ward of further monsters coming into this area. With her signature Chiburi swing, all blood slid off, before running a white clothe along its length and sheathing it back.

Finished here. Ready to jet when you are Eliane.

Agatha brushed her hair away from her face and let it slide down her back again. She looked around on the dead animals and felt somewhat sad for them. However they had disturbed the peace so she could not do anything about it.

Eliane had then approached her and asked if she was alright. With a short smile on her face that faded quite swiftly she nodded.

"I am completely fine. I am out of training however."

She could feel that she had strained herself too much for one move and should have let her powers and strength flow more than bursting it all out in one major attack. Making a mental note about this she flicked her hair and turned towards where the academy was.

"Ready to retreat back to academy."

Getting back to her office and stripping off the cat suit Nova redressed in civvies, as much fun as watching guys walk into walls and hurriedly concealing parts of their anatomy was and while the suit was specifically designed to be both perfectly fitted and breathing it was always good to change out of it… Probably to what she was doing when she was wearing it…

She was about to start on the white Russian which atma had placed on her desk when Alan got into her office, still sweaty and in his “combat gear”. Without any preamble he launched into what was probably the main question most recruits wouldn’t have asked for a while, "Miss, is it really necessary to kill all these people? Can't we just slow them down or knock them out?" A very valid question indeed, and one which would deserve answering…

"Was it really necessary to kill all these people? Can't we just slow them down or knock them out? A good and very valid question, and one which could be interpreted a number of ways…

A) Well we could have given them the stuff we were carrying but that wouldn’t solve the problem, sure they’d have had something to eat, or something to sleep under or whatever they wanted with the stuff we were carrying but the problem is that eventually it would have run out, and when that happened… The problem with that anything short off long term financial support for those people wouldn’t fix the problem, it’d stop it for a while granted but until they get a job and houses and all the other trappings of “normal” civilization they would cease being a drain on everyone else…

B) Yes ofcourse we could have used gas or something to bypass the ambush and go on our way while they slept through us… Wouldn’t even have been hard, However as I pointed out it wouldn’t solve the long term problem, it’d just patch the problem until they rob a truck which isn’t defended like we were… And then because they had been gassed once they would have been both prepared and more viscious next time, probably following the age old adage of all special forces operators the world over “When in doubt, KILL!” and just gun down the guys in the truck and loot the stuff…

C) So having established that KOing them doesn’t SOLVE the problem they pose and in fact probably only makes them more dangerous to the general public, and that until they want to get a job and a life they aren’t gonna stop what they are doing… I mean robbery is a fast way to get rich, a lot easier then most jobs too… And besides they were shooting at you so it only makes sense to shoot back and a dead opponent can’t get back up and shoot you later. If I had a worse plastic surgeon I would show you a scar I got from a time when I thought a guy wasn’t going to get back up… He did and before I could tag him again he shot me in the back, most of my left lung and back are cloned tissue which were regrown and reinserted, the hollow point did quite a number on me let me tell you… Which was the last time I went less lethal then was required for the operation at the time, but then my first kill was a long time ago… Geeze I am up to what? 543 now? Well that’s not really a topic for discussion… Let’s just say it’s very likely that I am the most dangerous life form on this planet bar none, that your revolted by what you witnessed is normal, but this is life on the bleeding edge, if you hadn’t been revolted by what you saw you’d be a sociopath… But you need to ask yourself a question, Do you or do you NOT want to live your life this way. Because if you are at school here you’re gonna become a warrior and like it or not… this is what that life is like a lot of the time… It’s messy and at times gross but we are a required evil…

But where are my manners, I was gonna order some pizza and some drinks and eat them outside you are more than welcome to come along… You want a drink? You look like you could use something a little stronger then milk right about now…”

Alan felt an incredible realization rise up in him. She was right! He felt unbelievably confused. His ideas, his preconceptions were conflicting with what he had just learned. What would knocking them out do? What would bringing them to justice do if they took out innocents if they were confronted with rationality.

Alan was shocked and horrified to find he had nothing to retaliate with. The thought was an unbelievably jarring one, and one that set his mind racing with new thoughts, new conceptions. Thoughts he couldn't sort out. Couldn't put in order. It was enough to make his head spin and ache.

And now the teacher who had so casually turned over the concept of killing in jjstice, who had so simply and easily confused Alan's morality, was exchanging pleasantries with him, offering him food and a drink. It was shocking, and the new influx of information was too much to handle.

"U-uh... no thanks," stuttered Alan in reply. "It's a nice offer... and thanks, but, uh, I'd like to eat my meal in the cafeteria. Um... thanks. You've given me a lot to think about, ma'am." Nodding politely, Alan backed out of Nova's office, closing the door behind him with a final click before walking briskly towards the cafeteria, grateful for the hustle and bustle of his fellow students.

Athena looked at Eliane quietly and nodded as she cleaned her sword with the hem of her dress, not even flinching as blood and residue stained the beautiful material. Mission accomplished, it seemed, and time to leave.

Stepping over the carcasses with elegant steps, she glanced silently at Agatha, her blank eyes running over the new student.

She had potential. She certainly had the power and the mind. She merely needed the training, the discipline, and the patience to control her power. If she could just do that, Agatha could go far. Disciplinary Commitee. Maybe even as far as Student Council itself. Hopefully she could find herself. Athena could see her making a big difference to Eureka if she could just temper herself.

Nodding curtly at Agatha, Athena moved back towards the Academy.

With Everyone ready, and Athena already heading back to the Academy, Eliane said, "Alright, we'll head back." With that, Eliane started heading back towards Eureka Academy. She hoped that the people would be able to go back to the beach in peace.

On the way back, she took note of Agatha's performance. She had potential, and Eliane knew Athena was thinking the same thing when she thought that with the proper training, she could reach the Disiplinary Comitee or even Student Council if she wanted to. Nonetheless, it was a good first run.

Ray listened to what she had to say, just as he always did. He was still wearing the same old gentle smile as before, nothing had changed. "I know you're in student council" He said with a laugh. "I did my research before coming here. I just had no idea what you looked like. Now I find it hard to look away." he turned red because he couldn't believe he just said that. He knew her for only such a short time, and now he goes and says this? What an idiot he felt like.

-------Oracio-------
As soon as the students walked into his classroom, he stopped paying attention to his book and jumped up, completely ignoring what Sophia said. His mind just got a spark. He leaped up and dragged his hand across the board behind him. "KIDS! I have been trying to decode this riddle, but I can't find any hits at all, tell me what you can understand of it!" He was excited that he had this idea. The board read, 'May the sun god flaunt his moon and the goddess of night love her son.' What does that mean? And then there's, 'How shall the dead die a life if the life is now there's to die within. May the creature that has numerous legs change the numbers of its walking and gaze into the nightly sun, resting its gentle eyes in the daytime moon.'

-Blade's POV (finally!)-

Blade stayed on the wagon and watched passively. Death meant nothing to a spirit of his age. He watched as Alan asked a question and, as expected, got a lecture from Ms. Nova, teachers being predictable. Blade decided to just tune out the rest of the mission and let his body go it's way.

--Later--

Blade sat in his bed, his spear in an actual sheath next to him. Apparently the janitors must have been upset from all the holes in the wall, so they crafted a sheath for him and left it next to his bed. Now his only problem was not hitting the stupid thing if he woke up in the night and couldn't see. Fat chance of that, though, so it all worked out. Blade considered all his options, and finally decided to just go the DC room. He grabbed up his spear, put it across the back of his neck, and walked out towards the DC room.

-Orion's POV-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_QTUWHN6mE (I couldn't resist :) )

Orion, bored, decided to just go see Krell. He walked carefully across the rafters of the cafeteria and went to his hole. Peeking out, he made sure no one was there, then jumped out, sealing the hole as he left it. Making sure that it was cleverly concealed, Orion departed the cafeteria at top speed for Krell's office.

-later-

Orion politely knocked on Krell's door and entered when bidden. "I was told you wanted to see me, headmaster?" Flippant as he may be with the President, Orion respected Krell quite a bit, and was civil in his presence.

Sophia

Oracio Krego seemed to have completely ignored what she had said to him, having leaped up and dragged his hand across the board behind him, saying "KIDS! I have been trying to decode this riddle, but I can't find any hits at all, tell me what you can understand of it!"

Sophia was slightly startled by his sudden outburst, and somewhat annoyed that first Ravona ignored her, now Krego. Mildly agitated or no, she would hear him out as he continued on to speak.

'May the sun god flaunt his moon and the goddess of night love her son.' What does that mean? And then there's, 'How shall the dead die a life if the life is now there's to die within. May the creature that has numerous legs change the numbers of its walking and gaze into the nightly sun, resting its gentle eyes in the daytime moon.'

Some of these words sounded eerily befitting of herself, or at least Ferfnir in general, but she doubted there was any connection. "While I am unsure on the first, shorter one, the other longer riddle sounds strangely befitting of Ferfnir in multiple ways, but I doubt there is any connection...

'May the creature that has numerous legs change the numbers of its walking and gaze into the nightly sun, resting its gentle eyes in the daytime moon.' sounds as 'nightly sun' may really be speaking of the moon, and 'daytime moon' may refer to the sun. The sun blazes brighter than one could bare to 'gaze' at, while the moon gives off a gentle light, some have even walked upon it, while no one could even come near the sun.

The creature with numerous legs that changes the numbers of which it walks on, and gazes at, in my understanding, the moon, sounds very Wolf-like. And my species; Ferfnir, are able to shift from this two legged shape, which has a more human-like appearance, that I am in now, to the shape of an ordinary, quadruped Wolf, walking on all four limbs...care for me to demonstrate this?"

Sophia elaborated fairly extensively on her thoughts on it, and offered if he wanted her to prove to him this change from a two legged shape to a four legged one. She held her tongue back from complaining about the ignorance of the two she was in that classroom with.
